A Tiger and a Samurai [Private] Empty A Tiger and a Samurai [Private]

Taiga was sitting on the edge of his bed at the Sabertooth guild dorm staring at the desk on the opposite wall. He had been sitting there for the last fifteen minutes, partly waiting for himself to completely wake up but also staring into a daze at the old, damaged brown book sitting upon the desk. The previous day, the young mage received a package from his parents and when he opened it, he found the book and a letter. It was a relatively short letter but explained enough.

    To our dearest tiger cub,

We recently found this book in the attic and it reminded us of how often you are working and travelling on your own in order to help support your family. This is magic that your great great grandparents once used and we think it will be of use to you. We are truly thankful and love you deeply. We miss you and hope that this book will aid you in your future.

    Lots of love,
    Mom & Dad

On the front of the book it read "Multi-Dimensional Summoning" and it reminded the boy of his childhood where his parents mentioned several times of his great grandparents. He would listen to stories of them summoning beings from different dimensions to aid them in combat, to stop bank heists and save the innocent. It used to excite him a lot listening to these stories and although he had outgrown them, he did admire them. And now, the book that they wrote together, their guide on using this magic was now sitting on his desk in front of him. He was hesitant at first, not entirely sure whether he wanted to take on this new magic or not. He understood why his parents sent it to him, they knew he was often alone and needed some form of protection and this was the perfect answer, but he was also unsure if he was ready. This was the reason why he had been sitting there, on the edge of his bed, for the past fifteen minutes... Oh and because he was still trying to wake up.

After another five minutes or so, Taiga finally climbed from his position at the foot of his bed and walked over to the desk. He picked up the book and whipped around, heading for the door and exiting the building. It seemed like all the other members of the guild had already left the dorm for the day, it was relatively quiet and the only people that seemed to be around were the cleaning staff to which he politely waved and nodded to as he exited dorms. He couldn't help but raise the book to above his eyes in order to protect his sight from the morning sun, it was bright and a little unexpected considering his room was generally quite dark. He wanted somewhere spacious and quiet in order to practice his new magic and so he immediately made his way to the nearby open fields.

It didn't take the young mage very long to get to the fields. The grassland was only a short distance away and a perfect place to be practicing any kind of magic, purely because it was very rare for crowds of people to be there unless it was spring of course, the flowers bloomed beautifully here and the nearby town folk would often walk here to pick the plants that grew. Thankfully there were no people and no flowers at the moment, the last thing he would want to do it ruin it by accidentally casting a dangerous spell. "I guess I better get started then." He said softly to himself as he lifted the book up into position and opened the hard cover to the first page. He immediately recognized the two signatures on the first page as those of his great grandparents and he couldn't help but lightly smile a little as he turned to the next page. This continued on for a while, he made sure to read every single word on very single page, although it seemed that the first forty pages were just an introduction. During this time he had taken a seated position on the ground while reading and the breeze he had felt earlier had become cooler. "Finally!" He said as he turned the page to the very first spell. "To Summon..." He read the chapter's title aloud and began to continue. This is where the actual guide started and he had to make sure that he read the instructions carefully.

Holding the book open in his left hand, his thumb keeping the page open as he read, Taiga raised his right hand up into the air in front of him, open palmed as a glowing, multi-colored magic circle appeared. It wasn't your traditional magic circle however, there were the outlines of a traditional magic circle but no runes, symbols or ancient languages. It was blank, a blank slate that was waiting to be written. The young mage closed his open palm so that only his index finger was extended and with this index finger, he began to draw the runes on the magic circle that the book indicated for him to do. It was a language he didn't understand nor had seen before but he knew that it wasn't of this world, like it was from a different dimension. Fitting considering the kind of magic he was trying to use. This was a process that went on even longer than reading the first forty pages, which seemed like it only took an hour, the rune process however, took almost three hours.

Once the magic circle had been completely, Taiga dropped his right arm due to exhaustion and placed the book down his opposite side. "Done." He said heavily, sweat running down the side of his face. The process was a little intense, used a lot of magic and drawing the runes wasn't exactly easy, he had to make sure there were no mistakes. Mistakes could make everything go wrong. He took a moment to catch his breath, his right arm feeling a little numb after being held up for so long and the magic circle disappeared as he laid there staring up at the clouds in the sky while he relaxed. "Okay, wasn't expecting it to be so intense." The young mage said to himself as he sighed, feeling the cool breeze against his skin. He had to admit, he had come quite far since he had first left home and started working as a guild mage but he could tell that this new kind of magic was on a whole new level and he couldn't help wondering at the back of his mind whether he was truly ready for this.

After lying there for a moment, Taiga finally sat back up in his position and took up the book in his left hand again. He turned to the next page to see what the next step was and it caught him off guard a little, he wasn't actually expecting the next step to be actually calling on a being from another dimension and bringing them forth. "N-now?" He said to himself, he assumed that there were several other stages before this but apparently not. The young man adjusted himself so that he was now in a kneeling position and placed the book back down on the ground beside him. He picked up a small rock from nearby and placed it in the open book in order to hold the page open as the next step required two hands.

"Clap both hands together..." He began reading, looking down at the book, placing both hands together but not clapping them, he was mostly trying to mimic what was required before actually performing the ritual. "Place both hands on the ground, open the magic circle prepared earlier. Repeat these words." It seemed relatively straightforward but Taiga knew it was going drain a lot of his magic, especially since he hadn't used it before and although the book said for him to repeat specific words, some of these words were missing... Either way, the young mage from Sabertooth took in a deep breath before beginning.

He clapped both hands together that echoed throughout the entire field, a shock wave of magical energy sent out in all directions like a ripple in a lake. "I summon thee!" He called out, immediately slamming both hands onto the ground and the magic circle he had created earlier appeared on the ground, rotating in a clockwise rotation. "Come forth!" This was where one of the spaces were in the book. "Cross now the great divide!" In brackets in the book, it said to call the name, but he didn't know the name to call. He was a little confused and after waiting for a moment, the magic circle disappeared and nothing happened. "What the?" He said to himself as he quickly picked the book back up again in confusion.

Taiga read over the instructions again carefully this time, making sure to miss anything and when he turned the page, he realized the that what he was missing was on the very next page. In hand print, on the side of the page were another set of instruction that were in the same hand writing as those signatures in the front of the book which indicated to Taiga that this was one of his great grandparents hand writing. Although it was hard to read, the ink had faded through time, he did manage to make out what it said in the end. "Allow your magic to flow through you. Open your mind and heart to your magic and it will give you the words to call." The young mage raised an eyebrow at these words, a little skeptical at first but in the end knew he had to give it a shot. Taiga took another deep breath, closing his eyes and kneeling into position again. He didn't begin immediately, instead he did exactly what the book told him and allowed his magic to fully flow through his entire body and as soon as he opened his eyes, he began.

Taiga clapped both hands together once again, another shock wave of magical energy was sent out in all directions as the clap echoed through the air. "I summon thee." This time, as he spoke, his own voice echoed as well, though the echo was so loud that it felt like it was reaching out through the different dimensions. He slammed both hands onto the grass in front of him and the magic circle appeared once again, rotating in a clockwise rotation. He kept his mind and heart open, allowing the magic to bring to him the words that were needed. "Come forth the Legendary Samurai! Cross now the great divide!" The magic circle began to rotate rapidly, the air around him caused and updraft that send tiny speckles of dirt and grass to flow around him in a swirl. It was he that he had to call the name of the being in which he wanted to summon, the name of the Legendary Samurai. "KEIJI!" An eruption of pure energy sent one last shock wave outward that even knocked Taiga backwards out of his position. Taiga winced as he fell back and looked up at the bright light that had engulfed the area his magic circle was placed, only to see now a very handsome, shirtless man with dark brown hair, a dragon tattoo on his left shoulder and a katana resting in the grip of his right hand, the blade resting upon his right shoulder. The man's eyes were closed to begin with but when he turned back to the young Sabertooth mage, he opened them to reveal bright, golden eyes. "You boy... You summoned me?"

Taiga was in pure shock, partly because he had managed to summon a being from another dimension and partly because the being he summoned was TOTALLY SEXY! Just looking at the man now standing in front of him gave Taiga some dirty thoughts but he had to be cool, he had to be composed. "DID YOU SUMMON BE BOY!?" The man shouted in frustration to which the young mage flinched, clearly irritating the man by not answering... "Y-yes." The boy responded to which the man simply rolled his eyes and began walking in the opposite direction, away from Taiga. "You have got to be kidding me." Irritation could be heard in his voice, though Taiga didn't pick up on this, he immediately jumped to his feet, dusted himself off and chased after the man. "W-wait up!"
