The night sky grew darker as the night grew older. Windows and street lamps glow alight one by one, reflected upon by nearby sea. The city was of great independence, completely detached even to its neighboring towns. Here, your guild meant nothing, it's a dog eat dog world where being a renowned mage meant little to nothing at all. All of which they care of was upholding their own rules, the set of laws they have established; and god forbid you break their laws.

That said, he's completely clueless as to why they'd ever send job requests on such a place if they don't even respect and acknowledge guild presence in the first place. Though he'd suppose there were things they had to call outsider help for which they simply can't risk doing; like to investigate the alleged illegal trafficking rumored to occur along the more hidden areas of Lavanitir's docks at night which, incidentally, was exactly what he's there for. Word has it that a small trafficking ring had situated themselves within Lavanitir, a perfect place to import and export unmarked shipments being the port city that it is.

Naturally, as per the anonymous request they have received from one of Lavanitir's concerned citizens, Cross remained on post till the fall of dusk. What's more irritating than waiting perhaps was the fact that he was only there for the purpose of investigation and not for the purpose of thwarting the smugglers. With where he stood, he was expected to return with him a mission report, detailing the movement and location of the suspected smugglers. Sure, he can do that, but he's more or less pissed for not being entrusted with the more physical task.

The clock was closing midnight yet still no activity to be noteworthy of. He kept waiting, perhaps he was on the wrong spot then? Cross stood from his uncomfortable crouching position, emerging from his shadowy cover to look around and see if maybe he had simply miscalculated his positioning.

"Ah, what the fuck." He murmured to himself in annoyance followed shortly with a click of his tongue.

    Darkness...

Alyia didn't always feel bad about taking over the body of the young girl. But she especially didn't feel bad about it now. Most certainly because she knew that she was one step closer to her end goal.

It was only some time ago that Alyia was there to see the death of the man who haunted her waking days. She dare not to speak his name as the man was known throughout the world as someone who had helped others, but to her he was the man that ruined her life and sent away her daughter to be raised by someone else. A daughter that should have never been born.

A daughter that was soon to be dead.

But nonetheless, the angel recalled the moment when she could feel the last remaining bits of his life essence being ripped from him. He could see the face of the woman that crushed his neck in her hands and kissed his lips, promising to take care of his kids, as to which Alyia could only hope that she too would hunt them down. Though, while Alyia would prefer to kill her own kin by her hand, restoring what should be, a dead person was a dead person no matter who killed them.

There was grin across her face as the dark angel walked along the lit sidewalks of the port town. Why was she there? Simple, there was word of someone who possessed information of where one of her lineage was. It was not her daughter, no, her daughter was indeed in this town, however, one gets information before on kills the source. The blonde knew that her only child was a blabber mouth, she had obtained it from her father. But who knew it would come in handle to track down the rest of the family. Hera would talk about and brag of her children, their accomplishments and their current locations. However, it was also Hera that would need to go first as her daughter was one of the strongest in the family. Letting her live longer would allow her to train and prepare for an attack. That simple could not happen.

Alyia was currently cloaked from head to toe, the black material covering her small body. It had been a while since she had been outside without a mask, however with Onyx Moon gone, there was really no need to hide her identity. Besides, her identity was different from that of Aliannah's. She never took her form unless it was absolutely necessary.

The girl continued her walk, her magical signal silences. She seemed like a nonmagical human. It was good, tho it could get her into some sticky places is some one were to attack her thinking that she was defenseless. But it was always better to have someone underestimate you.

Her footsteps were quiet on the wood of the port. She had come for information from one of the leader's of a smuggling group. It wasn't her preferred kind of informant, but she was going to do what she had to do.

Stopping under a light the angel paused for a moment. There was no movement from people, it was silent as if there was no one there. However, the female knew better she could feel their life sources and their magic signatures throughout the dock. They were there but they were in hiding.

    But why?

"I know you're there. Come out so that we can talk. You have information that I'm looking for."

Her voice echoed throughout the space. Though who would answer she wasn't sure.

    You're a weapon ; and weapons don't weep

Lavanitir Port City, huh? So this is where the thief retreated to? This world was dog-eat-dog, every man for himself, and a cesspit for the scum of the criminal underworld. Crime, drugs, and cruelty ran rampant through this city, and while Ahote was no stranger to such things, he often avoided it. He was managing a business in the capital, after all, and he got all of his itches for fun scratched by his clients with his guild as sort of a side hustle. Ahote Laspor was the ex-guildmaster of Basilisk Fang—a group of terrorists from not too long ago—an employed assassin, a frequent customer in the black market, and a quaint business owner who wanted nothing more than to see his club and coffee shop thrive. It was a simple enough routine, so why was here in such a crime-infested city? Well, it was simple. He was catching a thief.

Now, Ahote didn't care for the petty side of crime and minded his own business as far as that went. Why wouldn't he? He partook in the life himself. But people who stole from him or interfered with his occasional and sketchy plots always seemed to be caught by the man himself. Maybe old habits really did die hard, because Ahote struggled to ignore someone deliberately wronging him, even if all that they did was steal a bottle of liquor, order some drinks for some whores and then not pay the tab. The only reason he got away was because of that slippery, inconvenient magic of his. But, not this time. Ahote was wearing a charcoal dress shirt, black gloves, shiny coal loafers, and dark grey slacks when he searched around the city tonight, his only attempt at a disguise being a lazy white face mask. In a crime-infested city like Lavanitir, he didn't really care if people saw his face, and he didn't mind using excessive force to keep quiet if they happened to care or recognize him. His strength as a necromancer and as a standard sorcerer was no joke, after all. Years of living under the roof of Famine would do that to you.

It wasn't long before Ahote had found and caught the guy, but he didn't kill him immediately. He just wanted his tab to be paid and his booze replaced or reimbursed—he wasn't a bloodthirsty psycho, just flexible in his methods. With the gagged and tied culprit tossed over his shoulders, Ahote looked around the wooden pier for a reasonable exit. He should've brought a teleportation lacrima, but perhaps his dragon lich would do. But it was just then that he heard—no—felt someone coming down the way. They were alone, but Ahote still didn't have any interest in engaging with whoever this person was. He just wanted this guy to pay up through one broken bone or another, and then head to Icarus's place to scratch a... different itch. The voice of a girl broke the silence as she called out to what was Ahote and his hostage, but she was probably looking for the guy, right? Ahote sighed, rolling his eyes as he stepped out from the darkness and into the shared light, a tired and uninterested look on his judgemental and masked face.

"I take it you must be looking for him, yes?" Ahote nodded up at the unconscious body hanging over his shoulder with an unamused and solemn expression, "I'm sorry, but I have some business with him as well. You should've came sooner, but now you'll simply have to wait until I'm done."

    Darkness...

When from the shadows emerged another figure the blonde took a minute to absorb the image. In front of her stood a man several inches taller than her, a dark figure carrying something, or someone, else. From the description of the person she was given, the person walking towards her was not the person she was looking for. However, the ugly mop of brown hair belonging to the guy on his shoulder matched the description. She sighed internally, of course her intel would have gotten himself into more trouble than he let on. Her ears perked up as dark haired male spoke to her, telling her that he too had business with the man over his shoulder and that she would have to wait.

Alyia gritted her teeth and ducked her head, she was running into people that she wasn't supposed to on this little outing of hers. All she wanted was information, and maybe a couple of dead people. But, hey, was that too much to ask? With her face obscured from view she took a couple steps forward. Based on the looks of the dark haired mage it seemed that her intel wouldn't be escaping him without a broken bone or two. That wasn't her problem. However, an injured person with a grudge was a person who now wanted something, like revenge, and based on Alyia's gauge on the magic of the man in front of her, she would likely not beat him in a fight. She needed to get information out first.

"That's nice, but see. I need him for information. Getting information from a healthy person is easier than getting it from an injured person. But once I have my information he's all yours. It should only take a couple moments you see, only need the coordinates on someone who should be dead." Alyia didn't raise her head as she spoke, but she kept walking forwards until she was close enough to the other mage that their height difference was much more evident.

To be fair it could only take a moment and a spell for Alyia to get what she needed. Her eyes glanced at the male next to her with wary eyes. "It'll take less than a minute."

Her head tilted up slightly, revealing her dual coloured eyes, a glowing ruby red and light citrine blue, and petite features, the girl looked directly up at the man in front of her. She wasn't sure that he would give into her request, but maybe since it would take only seconds for her to get what she wanted, he may give in.

Her hands itched at her side, she was so close to getting what she wanted, but of course what was a revenge story without a couple of bumps in the road.

    ...is coming.. So run.

For someone dressed so discreetly, the same could not be said about how comfortable she was with the details of their suspicious encounter. Well, a lot of people were like that, now that he thought about it. Some could overshare as much as they pleased and have the brawn or power to get away with it. In any case, Ahote wasn't interested.

"I don't see how that's my problem. Again, should've come sooner." said Ahote, staring down at the petite woman with his cold, disinterested gaze. He had eyes that looked like winter, and a tone to match the cool, icy feel on his face. Ahote had seen and done a lot of things in his life, and he simply could not muster up the heart to care about this woman's agenda. He turned away with the guy lumped over his shoulder and began to walk out of the bright light. "For the record, being polite won't ever get you what you want."

With his casual and purposeful stride, Ahote meant to end the conversation right there. He didn't always humor others, especially when he had plans of his own, and he was the kind of man to get what he came there for and nothing more. He disliked unnecessary conversations and chit-chat, and yet he yearned for something to satiate his taste of chaos. Hidden Blades was sort of his middle-ground for that taste, but sometimes Boomslang offered more than enough chaos by itself. He'd garner a fair share of troublesome patrons all the time, like the guy he was hauling like a sack of potatoes. If he had one complaint, it would be the road trip the guy made him go through just to find him. That was something Ahote could've gone without.

    Darkness...

As the man began to walk away from her the blonde growled, her teeth bared. It wasn't like she was trying to be polite, in fact if anything she was quick and efficient of her own matters. Now, tho, this man was getting in the way of what she wanted. Grinding her teeth the angel dug slightly into her magic, she didn't need to attack the man, she just needed to stop him.

Large doors burst forth from the ground, scattering the stone and the fragments of the port below them. They were dark, intricate stone designs decorating the doors, something that would have been pulled from the gates of hell. Behind them was a dark red glow. Alyia didn't need the second part of the spell, she just needed the doors to stop the man. If they needed to be opened then she would.

Placing one foot in front of the other the blonde haired mage strode forward and to the large man. Her arm swinging out to catch the man's arm, her nails digging into the fabric, not enough to rip it, but enough for him to feel her intentions. "I was only being polite seeing as you have zero involvement in what I need to do. Now, unless you have information on the location of Heero's daughter, Hera, and her location I would recommend that you let me speak to that man." The words seethed through her lips.

How much she wanted her own daughter dead.

She knew that Heero's body had already been decimated by another female mage from another guild. While should have preferred to do it herself the fact that the remains of him were gone was enough to make her grin.

The blonde wrapped her body around the large man, her other hand gripping for the unconscious man's face. Her nails were black, an effect of her takeover, and she dug them into the client's cheeks. She could see pain scrawling across his face as he tried to jerk his head away. Her eyes glanced up at the man holding her target and they flashed something dangerous.

"Now will you let me have him."

"Heero and Hera? Now, those are names I haven't heard in years..."

Ahote stopped in his tracks, but not because of the hellish doors conjured from this girl's magic, or the fact that she had dug her nails into his arm as she had. If he was bothered by little displays of intimidation like that, he wouldn't have been the man he is today. No, he stopped because of those names—Heero and Hera, both belonging to the well-known Reyold family. For some reason, that bloodline always had a thing for naming their children with something starting with an "H".

Ahote had a long history with that family than he'd like to admit. Back when his mother was the Guildmaster of Fairy Tail, Heero was like an uncle to him. For the little time he spent there in the security of that pathetic guild, the two might as well have been family as far as seven-year-old Ahote was concerned. But that blissful fever dream soon crumbled away once he was taken by Famine back to Mt. Hakobe to become both her protege and child. For a long time, Ahote waited for someone to come find him—anyone. But days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and eventually, he was forgotten. Kanix had ended up giving up the search for him, last time he investigated and had a completely new child with some other man he never met. Heero disappeared, and that was that. He met Hera years ago, when she came to talk to Famine for reasons other than him, and she left without taking him. He had been completely abandoned by a guild who he had once called his own. Completely forgotten to take up the torch for Basilisk Fang, for no other reason than getting lost in a forest one night.

Needless to say, even though he had decided to move on from his past grievances, some wounds were so deep that it shaped him into the man he is today, and so it was difficult to "move on" from the very foundation of his bitterness. Frankly, he forgot about the Reyolds after years of being occupied with more important things. Between Famine's suicide, Sol's betrayal, and the crumbling of Basilisk Fang, the Reyolds were the last thing on his mind. But this stranger had business with them? Dormant feelings of hatred began to stir in Ahote's heart again.

"Calm down, will you? How about this. I'll give you this man if you tell me what business you have with those Reyolds," Ahote glanced back at the woman, his cold expression prying as ever, "Is that fair?"

    Darkness...

The male seemed to pause for a moment, deep in thought about one thing or another. Alyia wanted to rip the informant from the arms of the male, get her information, and leave. Was it really so hard? Apparently, seeing as the Angel was currently being stalled by a man who needed the informant for something that they owed him. That was none of her business. It wasn't like she was going to hurt the informant, at least not physically, there were other ways to get information out of people. The informant would go back to the man in one piece and he could do as he liked to the other.

Her fingers didn't release the arm of the large male during the time that he seemed to be in thought, contemplating something, remembering something? Heero and his family were well known through most of Fiore for being kind and generous and powerful. Though Alyia seemed to be the one piece of evidence against that stigma. It was true that they were friends, that she was guild ace at one point, and that they had had romantic feelings for each other. But, when Alyia said No, it was disregarded in more than once circumstance.

The Angel grit her teeth at the memory flitting through her head. As a god, mixing with the power of the Reynolds, it was bound to bring imbalance of the highest degree. Her bloodline was an upset to the balance of the world, maybe were to have been able to teach her own daughter she could have rightened it. However, yet again that choice was taken away from her.

Hearing the voice of the man next to her finally speak up the blonde looked at him, her face morphing back into a blank slate of no emotion. Hearing the proposition, it wasn't bad. But why did the other desire to know information of the family she was after, would they defend them? Would they agree to what she was doing? Aliannah didn't know, although she desired to. Pink lips split and the words tumbled out of her mouth. "My business is mine as yours is yours. However, while I don't see how my business should be yours, I need information from this man." The blonde released her grip from the arm of the male and reached for the man on his shoulder, a slender finger tilting the informant's chin slightly upwards.

"I need the Reynold's family to pay for what they did. Heero is already dead and thus I am looking for his daughter, Hera. She needs to atone for what she is and what she's done."

    ...is coming.. So run.

    You're a weapon ; and weapons don't weep

When Ahote came to this city, he was only trying take what was rightfully his, but the entire endeavour wasn't as serious as he made it out to be. He just didn't like being lied to or cheated, and he didn't want people to think that he was the type to sit around and let them do it. But the situation had changed.

Ahote had a lot of regrets, and a lot of them kept him bitter for so many years. He regretted not trusting people enough, and he regretted trusting people too much. When he was a boy, he had waited for Fairy Tail to come and get him from that strange and cold mountain, but they never came. Like most people, he looked up to Heero. He looked up to the Reyolds. But on that day, when Hera came to speak with Famine and left without him, Ahote knew that he was completely abandoned. Even now, through his occasional encounters with Mura, there was not an ounce of kindness and camaraderie between them anymore—they lived in different worlds now. They always had.

When he buried Famine in an unmarked grave on Mt. Hakobe, Ahote decided to leave those regrets behind with their fortress in tatters. In his world where it was survival of the fittest, he didn't have the strength to shoulder the burden of Basilisk Fang's failures on his back anymore. He never wanted to be the Guildmaster, he never wanted to be in that place, but he wanted to survive with the cards he had been dealt. He thought he was ready to live quietly in the shadows, hustling for this organization behind the scenes and keeping his head above water and below the grid with Boomslang, but hearing this woman talk about the Reyolds and atonement... Ahote felt an old, lingering hatred stir again. It was like waving a steak in front of an old dog. What was he supposed to do? Ignore it?

"I'm assuming that you're not a fan of hers," Ahote stared at the woman with that prying look in his eyes, dropping the man with a thud onto the boards below them. With a casual but firm motion, he rammed his forefoot into the man's stomach, rolling him over to the woman. "Though I'm no fan myself, either. Why don't you tell me about this atonement you have in mind?"
