Find the Lost Puppy (Shaku and Pain)

Pain walked up the road towards the Forest, above him soared a Massive Roc also known as Sora and Pains ally in combat. This time however a forest was much to dense for his bird to be of assistance in this adventure but aerial eye view was also was useful thing. That and the signals they been working on was pretty much a way for him to know if an ambush was coming or if anything was too strong to handle. Up ahead he saw a lavished carriage with a very big woman sitting in it along with several guards and horses of the greatest flesh. Sighing he kept walking towards them, he hated the rich people they always assumed their problems were the up most important above all else.

The day above promised to be a stormy one, already thick black clouds were rolling in, flashes of scarlet and purple lightning flowed through the sky, thunder rolled across the sky and echoed down to the ground. The woman was already hiding further inside her carriage from the natural forces of the world. Walking up to the carriage he looked at the two guards who stepped closer but seemed unsure of facing the muscle monster. Turning his head away from them and to the cringing woman who probably had never been outside of a city. "Your dog is in there?" The woman nodded and handed a drawing of her dog, a yappy little thing that looked more like a brown rat than some kind of dog. Turning Pain waited for the person who was suppose to join him on this job.

Shaku walked closer and closer to the forest where he was supposed to meet another mage to undertake the job of finding some lost puppy. Though, upon arriving, he was greeted by a carriage that the client was in, and an enormous man that was covered in muscles, I really hope this guy doesn't go around snapping trees for fun. Of course this was a joke, a joke that was funny because it was probably true. Hopefully, this guy isn't a complete psychopath and actually knows how to use his muscles. Carefully sneaking closer and closer to the man, he stopped about four feet from where he was standing and greeted him, Hello! I'm Lenaki, though, just call me Lene. Nice to meet you! he said, outstretching his hand in a friendly gesture.

Of course he wasn't going to give his actual name to the man, as he was a dark guilder, and wanted to take any precaution possible to make sure his guild and self weren't discovered. He was pretty sure the man was a legal mage, judging by the Fairy Tail tattoo plastered all over his face. I use a kind of, requip, let's say he told the man before putting his right hand parallel to his shoulder before creating Ventarus, one of his main weapons. The massive stringed scythe was just lying on his shoulder, much lighter to him, but very heavy to people who weren't him, so he could still use it as an anchor. Since it was made from his magic, he could wield it rather easily, but anyone who tried to would most likely succumb to its actual weight. How about you?

Pain turned his head at the man, his stance and look gave off a more feral wolf or a vicious bear about to attack. His eyes sharpened on the scythe and grinned, his hand closed and his muscles seemed to expand and grow larger. The ground around him shook and the air trembled, power flowed from his body in waves causing cracks in the ground to appear. He smiled a predatory smile and pushed on the ground causing a small crater to appear under his foot.

Turning he looked at the guards who backed away their eyes widened at the power of the warrior. Pain shifted his gaze back to the man with the weapon. "My power is Physical Magic, I am the apex of physical capabilities without limits." Turning away he let the power die down and than zero out. Walking over he picked up the picture of the dog and nodded than threw the picture to the other man who was going on this adventure with him into the dark forest.

Without another word he turned and walked towards the forest, his body moving like a predator, sleek, silent, and exuding confidence in his body. A lion with the sharpest claws, a tiger with the bloodiest fangs, a wolf with the ferocity of a pack. The man was a walking apocalypse and right now he was walking into a forest with a ally he didn't know anything about for a dog he didn't care for...all for his guild.

The man turned to him and it seemed like his entire body was flexing muscles all at once, he was definitely one of 'those' people. 'Those' being people who focused their entire life on nothing but their muscles, and nothing else. "My power is Physical Magic, I am the apex of physical capabilities without limits." he said, glaring like some crazy person at him. Interesting, even his magic is based on upping his physical prowess in battles, this should be interesting to see in battle. Shaku took a note from his brother in the sense that people who exuded an aura of intimidation didn't frighten him in the slightest, as they were people just like everyone else, and they had weaknesses like everyone else as well.

His partner on the job threw a picture of a dog at him, though, it simply fell to the ground, the same way a sheet of paper would act if someone threw it. Tightening the right side of his mouth, he squatted down and picked up the picture with his left hand and studied it before crumpling it up and tossing it into the carriage. "We'll get your dog back, just wait here" he said, so as to not worry the client much. Hurrying back to the side of the man, he began to speak again "So, I'm guessing you don't talk a lot? Mostly because you never gave me your name. he said. Although he was curious about how the man got so strong, first things first, names.

Upon entering the forest the world seemed to change, the woods grew thicker and larger threatening to go on forever, sounds seemed lower while smells got sharper. Trees that from the outside looked normal now seem to move in bizarre ways, some looked to have eyes, others faces but he knew it all had to be in the mind of the person. The forest truly lived up to it's name as the Spooky Forest. The grass was smooth underfoot better for bare feet which pain always went anyway, the sky was gone now the treetops and foliage was the sky for it seemed to stretch up and up without end.

Looking over at the other man he nearly growled when he kept talking, he obviously wasn't going to stop until he got a name. "Pain." One word summed it up. The forest seemed to close in and at the same time expand further out, a magical wood or the eyes playing tricks it was hard to discern for in this world anything could be magical. He wondered how this forest arose to be different from all others. A spell by some mad magician, or the ground itself teeming with magic that was corrupted by human arrogance? it was impossible to really tell or know without being able to see it from the beginning.

Pain walked through the forest like he was born there, a natural predator movement in his gait, always on the lookout for a enemy by sight, smell, sound, and touch. Barefooted he could even feel the vibrations through the ground of his ally on this mission. The weapon in hand, a scythe, a useful tool but not very potent for up close combat. The forest was speaking it's language to all things who listened, beast and plant both would heed the forests commands. The sound of a dog in the distance but which way for the woods echoed and scattered the sounds inside it. Pain looked around trying to judge the best course through his heightened senses.

Shaku walked through the forest, alongside the man whose name was fitting to his appearance, Pain. Are all legal mages this boring. I mean, I get that he's supposed to be some fierce predators, but even they need to stop and eat... he thought before looking around. There were many, many stories behind the actual origin of the Spooky Forest, and even more stories of the people who get lost in there. It has also been said that man vulcans take refuge in this assortment of overgrown plant life and dark magic. He noticed that Pain was barefoot, something he couldn't do himself.

All the dirt, worms, roots, splinters, all of those things add up to him simply wearing open toed sandals everywhere he went, that was, until he started fighting. Maneuvering in sandals was too difficult, and dirt was the least of his worries when he fought, so he didn't really pay attention to anything it was stepping on when he was in a duel. From the looks of it, Pain used his body as a weapon, effective in close range, but very, very bad at long range. Aside from the , the overall use of fighting with your body was a concept he very much enjoyed, seeing as how he knew exactly where to hit to paralyze a man as big as him, all you need is a force being knowledge. "So... Pain, how did you get to be as built and strong as you are now?" he asked, trying to get any kind of response from his partner.

Pain kept walking for another three minutes before he stopped and looked at the man who just kept going on and on. Deciding the man wouldn't shut up until he got a conversation Pain finally gave in though it went against his instincts. "I got strong by working out, fighting, training, and my magic helped. I learned from a master of the body how to release the physical boarders to make the body stronger. Just like I assume you train with those weapons otherwise summoning them would be useless I trained in Martial Arts to focus my skills." With that he went back to the scene around him.

The scent of the world changed the further they went into the forest, the scent now carried a more potent smell of fur and heat. Breathing in the scent he knew it well and a grin spread over his features making him look even more animistic. "Vulcans, I know their scent anywhere. Were close to them...let's go fight them." Picking up his pace, Pain walked deeper into the forest enjoying the sensation of the hunt. His body began to tighten as he activated his physical magic readying for the fight ahead. He looked back to see if his partner was also ready for the coming fight.

The scene changed to a more open area that offered several paths. Sniffing the air Pain couldn't tell which path to take since the scent was everywhere, some were stale which counted those off but it seemed the other three paths had been used alot and frequently which would not help them find the vulcans. He tilted his head before hearing the bark of a dog and his head whipped to the second entrance with the most potent scent and nodded for his partner that this was the entrance.

In the clearing, two Vulcans waited, one apparently much stronger than the one to its right. Not even hesitating in the slightest, Shaku went for the stronger of the two, holding his scythe by the bottom with his right hand.

Taking a horizontal swing at the monster, it simply let out a grunt when the blade made its impact with the creature's arm. Then, he swung it back around and tilted his head slightly to the left so that it wouldn't block the path of the scythe. The Vulcan simply raised its other arm, taking the blade right through again, wow, these things are surprisingly durable. Shaku heard the creature roared out of pain, but was more focused on the liquid dripping from its arms. Before the creature could launch a counter attack, he pulled his weapon out and jumped back a bit, out of range for any of its attacks to hit him. "These things are a lot more durable than they look, eh?" he said, directing it at Pain, still trying to converse with the half animal.

Pain watched the two Vulcans in their attack, Shaku attacked only for them to block it. Pushing off the ground Pain ran forward, ducking under the creature he swung a full force punch aiming for the lower jaw of the first creature following it up with a spinning elbow for the center snout that would snap the creatures head back. Twisting he threw a chop for the neck that would snap the spinal cord. Leaping backwards he turned forming a glowing form around his fist, running towards the opponent he pulled back his fist and threw one of his strongest attacks forward. "Destruction strike" The blow if connected on the weaker Vulcan would shatter the block and crush the throat leaving a destroyed mess.

Turning around he looked at Shuka and grinned turning his head, the fight was fun for the young warrior who enjoyed nothing more than a great brawl. "Well than, we should look for that dog some more...unless you feel we have any unfinished business here." With that he turned his head looking at the Vulcans to see if they were going to stay down this time or if he had to get rougher with them. Already he started opening up his magic, the ground around his feet cracking from the sheer force he was emitting. The warrior was hungry for more and already he was looking around for more opponents, he hoped that his enemy would get up and show resilience and not just break like little toys.

Shaky stared at Pain as he completely decimated the enemies, wow, he sure is messy for a legal mage. For a fighter, he also has a unique area of attack. Instead of vital organs, he goes for just a straight out brawl. Or he just doesn't know Vulcan anatomy, either or... he thought  while staring at the blood that was dripping from his scythe. "We do have unfinished business. There are monsters coming right for us. Don't you feel it?" he said, waiting for the next wave of creatures to come. Almost immediately, on cue, came another pair of Vulcans similar to the ones they had just fought. A large one and a smaller one. Slowly, he walked up to the weaker of the two and winded his scythe up before swinging at its legs.

As expected, it jumped up to avoid the attack, I bet you think you're smart, monkey he thought while continuing the swinging motion, aligning his blade with the perfect point until... *SSSSLLL* the beast was cut cleanly into two. The motion, the sound, the result, all added up to a dead monster and a puddle of dark red. Unfortunately, he didn't expect its bigger friend to get so angry and attack without hesitation, so, Shaku took a massive fist to the side of the head, sending him flying with a headache. As he flew through the air, back facing the ground and head ringing, he was able to hook onto a nearby tree with his trusty weapon and spin around the whole trunk twice before falling to the ground due to a lack of momentum. Rough...

Pain watched the enemy run out and saw Shaku take out the first one with ease. After the blow Pain ran in a arch to intercept the upcoming creature and attacked. His first blow was a wild swing that was simply to get the creatures attention, it turned and roared and looked at the warrior who was already bending down. Pain closed his fist forming a spinning rune on his fist and launched himself in the air delivering a punishing uppercut to the creatures head, upon impact it created a explosion of physical force like a concussive blast that snapped the creatures head back and severed the spinal cord.

Stepping back he let the creature drop to the ground and grinned looking down at the broken body of his opponent before turning his head to look his ally right in the eyes than moved his head for him to join him. Placing a foot on the big animals chest he pushed and sent the creature to the ground, leaning down he grabbed the creature's tooth and ripped it out of his mouth as a trophy for his victory. Standing up he started walking down the path and whistled for the dog to come to him, he wondered just what else was in the forest for him to fight and crush, his partner on the mission was pretty good with that scythe of his but a combo would have been better. Sniffing the air he caught the scent of dog and huffed walking towards the smell.

After Pain had taken care of the fourth Vulcan and whistled, the dog came through a small hole in the brush. That's it? I was hoping for some more... Shaku thought to himself before hearing a roar that shook the trees. Even before the complete thought was made, his wish was still granted. The Vulcan jumped out for a surprised attack and came at Shaku, his scythe ready to cut it in half, I just need to wait for the right time. Holding it down that a battering ram, he waited for just the opportunity to present himself before... NOW!.

Raising his left arm up, he sliced the face of the beast completely vertically, causing it to back up in pain with its huge hands on its face, covering the cut. "Pain, hold out your hand face up, I need a boost!" he said, running at the big man next to the puppy that was lost no more. Taking a step onto the man's calloused hands, he was soon launched fairly high into the air, his vision doing complete loops as he spun in repeated back flips. Time to make this flashy and messy he thought with a gleeful smile holding his scythe above his head, the blade arching to his back side. When he finally made it to ground level, his scythe pierced right through the beast's back and protruding out the front, creating to small gushes while he hung onto the shaft, upside down.

Letting go, he leaned backwards and landed on his feet, facing the monster who still had his scythe in its back. "You see Pain, there are just some wonderful things that you can't do without a bladed weapon" he said, standing right behind the monster, whom he assumed was about to let go of life. The surprising thing is, it didn't. It flung a sloppy back fist at him, yelling at the top of its lungs all the while, Uh oh. It brought its arm back around, and Shaku thought of his armor set, Nautreen, and raised his left arm up, stopping the arm in its track. That was close he thought as he watched the beast fall on his face. Removing his scythe and placing it back in the pocket dimension, he looked over to Pain. "Let's go take this dog back"

Pain looked at the dead monster than at his ally, walking over to the monster he placed his foot on the back of the creature and grabbed the head with both hands, as he pulled the corded muscles pushed out showing the strength in his arms, shoulders, and back. With a grunt he ripped the head off with a twisting jerk that separated it from the rest of the body. Raising his head he looked directly into Shaku's eyes and grinned tossing the head up and catching it with one hand. Pulling his arm back he launched the head sending it spiraling above the tree tops and out of sight. Picking up the dog he turned and headed back down the path they came, past the dead vulcans that had challenged them that day and paid the ultimate price for their foolishness.

Turning he looked back at his ally for this fight and smirked which wasn't comforting at all. "Some things you just can't do with a weapon, like be one yourself." With those words he once again started on the path out of the woods. The dog hanging from his arm just laid there limp not knowing what else to do in the arms of the muscled giant. The dog looked around and sniffed the air letting out a bark, Pain stopped and sniffed the air and grinned, placing the dog on the ground he watched it tear off into the woods. After a few minutes the dog returned carrying a rabbit in it's jaws. Pain leaned down patting the animal on the head for it's good work and animal instincts. For a small dog it had surprising courage.

Shaku watched in a bit of shock as the legal mage tore the head of the Vulcan off and threw it up into the sky. Wow, if I didn't know any better, I would say he was a dark guilder... he thought while following him back to the carriage where the client was. "Some things you just can't do with a weapon, like be one yourself." he said, smirking at Shaku quite uncomfortably. He's so ignorant, almost annoyingly so. I know the anatomy of countless creatures, I don't need my weapons, I just prefer them over bare skin. The latter is just very inconvenient in many fights... he thought, grinning back at the man.

Although vicious, and seemingly ruthless, he seemed to be pretty good with the puppy that they had finally found. "You're pretty messy for a legal mage. How come you aren't in one of those dark guilds?" he said, genuinely curious to hear his answer. Maybe it was because he didn't view the Vulcans and people, and it didn't matter to him how destructive he was to the. Or, maybe it was the fact that he was just too shy and lied to himself, saying he should be in a legal guild. Naraku would be rather pleased if I could recruit him into the guild, he seems strong enough for the door... he thought, thinking back to when he opened the inner guild doors. I'm sure he'll give me some reason not to recruit him though, that's how it always is from the legal side...

Pain stopped in his tracks and turned his head looking Shaku right in the eyes, walking to him he got right in his face staring at him. "I know I am destructive, violent, people think I am too wild for my guild. I walked on the dark side of the world and found it to be sour. They are mostly cowards hiding in the shadows...I belong with Fairy Tail. Yes I admit it my methods are not the normal for one of the good guilds but nothing will turn me back to who I was." With that he turned and kept walking now ignoring the man behind him. Picking up the dog he left the forest and walked up to the carriage past the guards and to the woman.

Handing her the dog he smiled as she hugged it, turning he walked away from the carriage with the money from the job and handed Shuka his cut. "this is where we go our separate ways..enjoy." He let out a piercing whistle, within a minute a large bird of prey landed. Walking over to the Roc he jumped into the saddle on the back and looked at Shaku with a smirk. "I don't belong in a dark guild...and neither does anyone else. If you ever want to join Fairy tail since your alone...be glad to have yeh." With that his bird took to the skies leaving his one time ally. the job complete Pain headed back to Fairy tail, another job done and another payment earned.
