“Sir, Lilith’s here,” Link exclaimed as he brought the dark-haired girl to Shane’s office.

“Thanks, Link,” Shane said to his assistant before turning his attention to Lilith. “Please take a seat.”

Putting the pleasantries aside and directly going straight to the point, Shane’s right hand moved to the brown folder to the side of his desk and pulled it across the table so that it was right in front of Lilith. Turning it around so that she could read it properly, Shane opened the folder and then began to speak again.

“You have been with the Rune Knights for some time, so it’s time we gave you a challenge. There’s a shitstorm happening as we speak so I hope you will be able to digest this as quickly as you can and you can take the appropriate countermeasures,” Shane began.

He pointed to the documents containing all the info that Lilith would need for the mission.

“We have a Magic Council member trapped in a cruise right now at this location. The MC member has just returned from a vacation on a cruise but before he could alight, a group of dark mages has boarded the ship and captured the vessel. We don’t know their motive. Four Rune Knights were dispatched to protect the MC member for his vacation. From what we know, one’s dead, two’s heavily injured and there’s only one who’s still able to put up a fight. They have hidden themselves somewhere on the ship, playing a game of hide and seek with the hijackers. What I want you to do is to command a squad of five Rune Knights, board the ship, save the MC member and capture the dark mages. You may do it in any order you see fit and you may take any action you feel is right. Hawk over here will drop you off via airship or any location that fits your strategy.”

When he finished speaking, Shane pointed at the orange-haired man with a cheerful smile on his face sitting behind Lilith on the three-seater sofa. “He’s Hawk.”
