At first glance, Cain appears to be the typical happy-go-lucky youth who does not have to worry about a thing. This can-do attitude stems from his highly supportive background of being from a small tight-knit village in a secluded region of Ca Elum. His friends often call him optimistic, loyal and just a genuinely happy person! While this may all be true, sometimes this positive attitude is just a front for Cain. Being the second oldest of six kids and oldest son, a lot of responsibility, though some self-imposed, fell on Cain at home. Dedicated to being a benevolent brother who lead by example, that meant Cain often took the heaviest load or the harshest consequences, all in attempts to protect his siblings. It was through this protection that Cain wanted to show his siblings that they could be strong enough for anything, and that he would always be there to help them... but he never wanted them to feel as though they needed to help him.

As one could imagine, a house with six children grants very little privacy, so, in order to spare his family any worrying, Cain often hid his struggles. He never wanted his parents or siblings to "feel obligated" to help him because "it's nothing", or "they have other things to worry about". However, this is not to say that Cain is always disguising his troubles through positivity; he feels genuine happiness most of the time, its just that when he does have a problem, he does not want to burden others. It would take a very close bond and a lot of trust in order to get him to open up about his negative feelings.

Due to this, when his village threw him out at the age of 16 for going against custom and learning magic, he readily obliged because he did not want to cause his family any more hardship or shame than he already had. Still, as he said his goodbyes and ventured away from the only home he had every known, Cain remained somewhat upbeat for himself, though sick with worry for his siblings. As he traveled around, alone for the first time in his life, everyone he met saw him as a trust worthy kid who was optimistic and helpful, and that was just the way he liked it.

In a casual battle or in training, Cain knows how to value teamwork and work effective with others. However, when a battle becomes more serious with more serious consequences, his protective instincts take over and he can become reckless in an attempt to save his teammates at all costs.

Likes: 

• Friendly Competition: Cain is not one to get randomly aggressive, but he cannot resist the call of competing. This drive to win at all costs motivates Cain in many things that he does as it also provides his basis for comparison with other people. A quick way to get Cain to do something is to add some sort of competitive aspect.
  
• Being outdoors: Growing up in a agrarian hunter-gatherer village, Cain has developed a great fondness for the outdoors. Be it any terrain, he never really feels at home unless he as quick access to some fresh air and open skis.
  
• Friends: Cain has always valued friendship and getting to know other people inside and out. His favorite pastime is meeting new people and having new experiences with the people he holds dear.
  

Dislikes: 

• Being Alone: After growing up with many siblings, Cain is accustomed to having people nearby at pretty much all times. Not to say that he does not enjoy a little privacy now any again, but long periods of not seeing anyone (or anyone new) cause him to get bored, restless and introspective fairly quickly.
  
• Things All Up In His Face: Whether its another person or just an object, Cain has never appreciated things getting too close to his face or touching it. For him it triggers a fight or flight response, or, in prolonged cases, causes extreme frustration.
  
• Recognition: While he enjoys doing what is right and helping people, he does not like getting publicly recognized or praised for it. Even a simple "... and a special thanks to Cain" is enough to send him into an awkward fit of blushing embarrassment and "oh it was nothing's.
  

Motivations: 

• Connecting With Family: Every since his village and family ostracized him for learning magic, Cain has longed for the chance to reconnect with his family that cast him out. He yearns to earn their acceptance once again, and he uses this motivation to get stronger with hopes that it will eventually make them proud.
  
• Helping Others: Through his upbringings and own insecurities of self-worth, Cain always prefers helping others solve their problems and lessening their burdens than accepting help with his own. Not to say that he does not know how to ask for help, he just prefers to be an asset than a liability.
  
• Trust: This is the single most important virtue to Cain. He lives his whole life trying to build it, and he does not take to kindly to people who brake his trust. This desire motivates many of his actions and decisions when it comes to relationships.
  

Fears: 

• Being Talked About Behind His Back: While he is not afraid to partake in a little of his own gossiping, Cain lives with constant unease about the fact that people are most likely also gossiping about him also. Despite the fact that he knows it is a two way street, he is always wondering what people say about him when he leaves the room, but deep down he is actually afraid to find out in case it is negative.
  
• Appearing/Being Weak: Ever since Cain sought to become a role model for his siblings, he has always feared that if the time came, he would not be able protect them. Eventually, this has extended to everyone that he cares about. He just wants to be a steady rock in peoples' lives is that so much to ask?!
  
• Not Being Needed: All his life, Cain has sought to take care of others, so the very idea of not being needed sends chills down his spine. The quickest way to his heart is to be dependent on him, which is something that he enjoys. He greatly fears the day when no one depends on him anymore.
