Sipping on a warm drink on a warm, sunny day, Mai was suddenly interrupted by Tia, who immediately took hold of her, dragging her back to Beanstalk village. Tia had said that somehow, the plant had managed to infect various animals in the area, leaving destruction in its wake. While Mai still was not a fan of Tia by any means, she quickly went out to return to the village to put down these ravenous creatures. Just as expected, the village proper, which was some miles away from Tia's hut, was under attack from the various strangely purple-hued animals. Of note were three wolves and a bear that sat in the middle of the town, pawing away at a nearby building with desire to consume the citizen cowering atop it. Mai rushed out to the village, firing an ElectroCannon Sniper to strike down one of the wolves immediately before she even arrived to the village. The other two and the bear changed their priority from the innocent civilian to the small girl that was now charging towards them. Mai smiled, ready to engage in combat.
She powered up both Galeforce Boots and Thunderstrike Talons, resolved to beat the beasts in hand-to-hand combat. One of the wolves pounced, prepared to bite the girl's head off. Mai leaped to meet it in the air, slamming her tempest-coated fist into the jaw of the wolf, which collapsed, defeated. Mai landed gracefully, fully staring down her remaining two foes. They circled Mai, growling as they were wont to do. Mai had hunted wolves and bears many times before with Papa, and now she was more powerful than ever. Of course, these predators were more powerful than the average bear or wolf, yet Mai knew the difference in strength was too great. After a moment of complete stillness, the wolf and the the bear simultaneously charged at Mai, who quickly handspringed out of the way, firing off a Torrential Stream in warning, which missed. The predators charged once more at Mai, now coming straight on as opposed to a pincer attack. Mai took this opportunity to vault off of the back of the bear and, surprisingly, the wolf did the same before being spiked back into the ground with a swift punch downwards. However, she had no time for rest, as the bear was immediately upon her when she landed. Its jaws were mere inches from Mai's face when she managed to throw up a Cyclonic Shield to push it aside, though a tooth from the bear grazed Mai's cheek.
She felt a dribble of blood run down the side of her face. "You meanie bear! You'll make miss Luna worry about me!"
Enraged from the scratch she received, Mai let out a Tempest God's Bellow, which engulfed the bear. While she did this, she also powered up a Tempest God's Spire, which she sent at the bear, blasting a high pillar of dark clouds high into the sky. When her attacks subsided, she saw the bear down on the ground, and Mai smiled, content with a job well done.
