Yet another long night in front of a candle. Eros was beginning to tire of this lack of progress. So much time and effort with only a pile of broken glass to show for it.
It had been well over a week after completing his last job and ever since, he had been attempting to add the fundamentals of alchemy to magic. Currently, the curiosity of what a fusion of the two would be like was the only thing late drove him to stay up so late for so often.
He had a few ideas, but when it came to actually testing his theories...well the results were currently laying in front of him in shambles. There was just one avenue left; manipulating the mana in his body to interact with an object.
It was a bit out of left field and he didn't really have that much control over his signature to make it that precise. Then again, precision could always come after. Right now, he needed results.
Picking up a small light bulb out of the closest box and cupping it in his hands, he closed his eyes and began to take deep breaths. Thinking back to when he first came here, he tried to remember the feeling of having his magic lurch towards other sources of magic whenever he let it loose. It was like a river that he could feel moving through his body that he had strangled into a stream. Always controlled and restricted, he didn't even want to think of the consequences.
However, this time, he would relax and let it flow, guiding his mana into the small object. Opening his eyes, he could actually see it, the remnants of his signature swirling and dancing harmlessly along the glass, yet somewhat shaky. So the first step was done, his mana could touch and envelop other objects without harming them. But now came the hard part.
