Veronica sat in the main headquarters of the Rune Knights, specifically in the mess hall. It had been a couple of months since she had joined the ranks of the official protectors of Fiore and yet so far she still felt relatively alone. As she sat picking at her tray of food she let it sink in how she hadn't really made any friends since her arrival. Sure she had done a few jobs with her fellow Knights, and sure she had found herself in a mentorship with Captain Shane, but they hadn't really ended up as "friends" after the jobs they had all done together had been finished. Of course her relationship with Shane was a purely professional one, even if she did find that ass of his hypnotizing to stare at. With a sigh the blonde returned to the food before her, continuing to eat in sullen silence. She needed to find someone to spend this downtime between jobs with.

Charlotte’s day was, surprisingly, quite uneventful. Usually at least something of the odd nature happened with the young white witch and her powers of strange, but unless she was completely missing something, today was free of that. Using that to her advantage and getting a little bit of extra nutrients into herself before going to gather herbs, she had found herself in the mess hall of Rune Knights HQ.
Not a place she visited all that often. As someone who lived in Rose Garden, this place was a tad bit out of hand, so she often found herself going to one of the many smaller branches instead to get her new assignments. Today was slightly special, as the herbs she needed for her medicine only grew around this specific area.
But before she could get to any of that, she had to finish her meal. Alas, she couldn’t help but notice another girl that sat across the table from her and the way she seemed to blankly stare at her tray and its barely eaten content. Feeling like something was amiss, the young lady decided to call out in her usual meek voice. “Um… is something the matter with your food, Miss?”

A timid voice questioned Veronica on if there were something wrong with her food. Looking up the young blonde found another individual had taken the seat across from her at the same table. A young, white haired girl Veronica was unfamiliar with. "Oh. Nothing's wrong with the food. I'm just in a bit of a weird spot right now." Veronica began to explain to the unknown girl. "I'm Veronica, what's your name?"

There were a few blinks as Charlotte processed what was said to her. A very simple explanation of what was going on, but one that she couldn’t fix very easily because she knew pretty much nothing of what was actually going on. But at the very least there was some form of introduction.
Which actually made Char realize that she might have entered this knight’s life a bit forcefully, making her blush slightly. Still, it would be rude to not reply at this point. “I’m… Charlotte. One of the newer Rune knights. It’s a pleasure to meet you!” Her voice somewhat quiet and shaky, but that was just the girl and her mild nervousness when meeting someone new.
“Um… well… if there is any way I can help you with your problem… please tell me! I’m a healer, so… maybe I can help somehow…” But despite her sheepish nature, her heart was in the right place and she always wanted to help those around her in any way she could, even if she didn’t quite know them just yet. Much like this other girl.

Tiny sparks of electricity rushed through Veronica's hair, causing her blonde locks to stand on edge as a rush of excitement suddenly shot through her body. There were really only two things the strange, timid girl said that Veronica's ears really paid attention to. The first being that her name was Charlotte, a polite thing to make sure she remembered regardless of whatever other subjects caught her attention, and that she was also one of the "newer Knights". Leaning more towards Charlotte now, her barely touched food now all but forgotten, Veronica gave her a large smile as her eyes seemed to practically twinkle with her joy.
"One of the newer Knights? Like me?!" She questioned, her voice now carrying her enthusiasm as she continued to ask the very questions she was thinking out loud to her new acquaintance. "How new are you? Did you join before me or after? Or did you join at like the same time I did?" The Lightning Dragon's demenor was far from what it had been before their conversation had begun. Leaning back away from Charlotte the blonde raised her arms up above her head, her face that of a smiling fool as she stretched. "This is great! I haven't met any other newbies since I joined myself."

While the pale girl was always up to help anyone in need or trouble, she wasn’t exactly the beast at dealing with… well, general interactions with other human beings. So the sudden energetic behavior of the fellow knight somewhat started Charlotte and took her aback, her pure white eyes darting all over the place as she stumbled over her own words.
“I… err… well… um… I’m not sure if exactly like you..?” But while the sudden shift in tone was somewhat startling at first, she quickly grew calmer as she realized that the other girl now seemed much happier than before, which was definitely good. In other words, just the fact that they were talking helped.
“Um… I don’t know if I joined before or after you, but… I’ve been with the order for a few months now. Though I was still mostly inactive until recently.” It was actually somewhat debatable whether she could be truly considered a newbie, but since she didn’t do much for the knights yet, she did see herself as one for certain.
Her smile grew wider and warmer as well when she watched the other girl get relaxed. “I see. So… um…” Given the whole situation, Charlotte got an idea to ask a certain question. But it was still somewhat embarrassing, especially with her timid self. Still, she clutched her own dress and tried to blur the words out. “Do you want to be friends?”
