Two young women dressed modestly in their Dies Irae uniforms sautered down a hallway, chatting to one another about cute boys in the mess hall or how their hair had split ends. They were the feminine type that talked about feminine things, and didn't seem concerned about anything or anyone else. As they walked down the hallway, they would pass the entrance of the Dies Irae Throne Hall, normally empty but perpetually impressive, but not today. In fact, once their eyes floated into the hall, they seemed astonished by what they saw.

A man with marmalade eyes and spiky, chestnut hair that ran down to the back of his neck was standing in the middle of the Throne Hall, wiping away the sweat of his forehead with the back of his wrist. It was Nico, and he was wearing a thin, black tank top and baggy grey cargo pants and combat boots. Next to him was a mop, broom, and various cleaning sanitizers he had somehow garnered. He had just finished cleaning the entire Throne Hall, and doing so seemed to have only made him break a small sweat. It was always a surprise to see what men who were used to doing manual labor could do. Nico heard the click of their heels as the girls stopped, astonished. He turned around, smiled, and waved.

"Oh, hey there, guys! You guys here to clean up? I already did it!" Nico explained enthusiastically. He didn't just clean the Throne Hall. It was practically sparkling.

The girls couldn't ever be bothered to clean such a large room without being told to do so, but they were still amazed that a single person could have done this at all.

"Uhm—you did this yourself?" said one girl, timidly.

Nico nodded sincerely. "Yup! I came in early to get it all done before sunrise!"

"Before sunrise? You were here all night?"

"A few hours, I think? Time really flies, huh? Haha!"

The girls looked even more astonished than before. "You cleaned this entire hall... in a couple of hours?"

He nodded again. "Mhm! It looks good, right? You don't think any of the ambassadors will dislike it, do you?"

"Of course not... if anything, I think they'd be impressed..."

"Really? That's great! I'm one-billion-percent sure that the place is completely clean!"

Eight years of callused hands and hardships that any average person wouldn't be able to bear seemed to be worth it, making tough jobs like this one relatively easy. When the sun hadn't rised yet, Nico was running from one side of the Throne Hall to the other, following his broom as he swept away the dust, and then mopped away the dirt, and sanitized whatever was left behind. Every crevice, every tile, and every corner of the Throne Hall fell victim to Nico's determination. Everything except the ceiling. Even Nico couldn't scrub that high!

The task was given to him and was supposed to be done in a group, and while he intended on working with other people, he was too excited to do something for his guild that he couldn't wait until sunrise. As a result, the Throne Hall was spick and span before any other person could step foot into the room.

Nico was grinning now, his cheeks flushed a little. "I'll clean up behind myself, so don't worry! Name's Nico, by the way!"
