The King of Thieves

After finishing off his last Easy job, he felt it was time to move down the board to the C-rank job request because he wanted more money and hoped for a better time. “Let see what seemed fun this time.” He scanned the board hoping he could find something interesting that would catch his eye swiftly so he could get going onto his next job again.  “Hey this one seems awesome!” yelling quite loud he turned around to see people staring at him but he did not care. They job this time was The King of Thieves , “Hmm sounds like some guys I would like to rough up might as well get paid while doing it.” He said letting a smirk go across his face he looked at where it was located so he could start his journey just like all the others.

“Hmm the Forgotten Desert I have not been there yet seems interesting already.” He let off a smirk and headed out to his next location. Though he stopped after getting out in front of the guild building, he saw a young women standing by the gate. “Wow she is outstanding.” Anime sparkles flew from his eyes as he walked up to the women who he could tell was a wizard. “Um… I know this is kind of weird but would you like to go on this job with me.” He had his head slightly down seeing as he was embarrassed yet couldn’t stop smiling at her body.

Naraku whose body was pretty fantastic, even she couldn't deny that, had been here mostly to hear what Fairy Tail was up to. She had changed her usual attire of a black dress with her haori over it to a different outfit. Her haori was still there, but inside out so the hell symbol could not be seen. Under it she wearing a simple tai-chi uniform all in black with crimson embroidery. Atop her head was a bamboo hat which she kept low shielding her face, of which the lower half was covered in a black silk bandage. It was clear from her aura of magic that she was a mage so it was not surprising when someone approached her asking for help on a mission. She glanced over at the speaker who seemed to be admiring her body, which as mentioned was pretty fantastic. It was a useful tool to her though, nothing more. She looked over this mage he wasn't particularly powerful, probably a new member of the guild. He might not be aware at all of her part in the destruction of Magnolia. Entering the city had been risky of course, it was crawling with rune knights helping prepare, but few of them were a match for her and she could easily shadow step away at any point. Yes, things were ideal for now.

Without so much as a word she took the paper from his hand and glanced over the job. Some wannabe bad guy group called the Cartel had made off with a large shipment of lacrima. The mission was get them back by any means necessary. However, there was no orders on what to do with the Cartel or its leader. That was pretty weak minded. If a group was trying to get big one little set back wouldn't take them down. You needed to destroy the weed from the root and that meant wiping out the cartel, or at least its big time members.

"Sure kid why not." she said and began walking off towards the train station so they could head off to the forgotten desert, which was where this mission was located. "Call me Miu." she said using the name of Chelvaric's pet as her cover name. Hopefully, people didn't know that name too well and even if they did they wouldn't associate that Miu with her as their figures were very different.

Whilst on the train she was silent starting out into the distance thinking on the mission. How she would normally do a mission like this would be to go in and destroy a big chunk of their numbers and then torture the final ones to death, but with a legal guilder, particularly one from Fairy Tail, on it as well that might not be an option. Then again, and the thought amused her, even if he turned on her she could probably take him on without even resorting to magic, she was that strong physically now.

As Brink and Miu were riding on the train his teenage hormones started to cool down as he just sat in silence for a little while then he felt he was bored and wanted to have a little fun on the journey. “So your name was Miu right? Why did you agree to join this job with me unexpectedly, just out of curiosity?” He wondered because most women would rather make a giant fuss over a stranger trying to talk to them instead of joining them on what could be a dangerous job. He then started to look at the landscape out the window seeing has he might need to work their or use it to his advantage later on during the mission. He was not worried about anything else but finishing this mission with great success just like all the ones beforehand and maybe make a new friend if possible. He watched as more and more waves of sand mounds and dust clouds blew by the window showing they were getting close to the mission site and he probably should get ready to get off the train. Letting out a sigh he wondered if he would get a chance to test his newly found weapons on this mission.

"Who you are, how you feel, what you are does not bother me." she said lying totally. Well the how he felt didn't bother her at all, but the who and what he was did. He was a member of Fairy Tail a guild she needed to learn more about so she could destroy it from within. Of course, that wasn't high on her priorities, but she did think it would be fun. "I came on this job because a job is a job no matter who you partner with. It will provide money and new experiences. Plus its my kind of job." She looked over at him from beneath her wide brimmed hat. "As for why I agreed to go with you...were you expecting me not to? If you were then why ask...seems a waste of time to me."

It was as she said these words that the train began to come to a slow stop and she rose to her feet and headed out of the train. She didn't wait for him, but headed straight towards the location of the person whose job it was. More details would be required before they could advance, such as numbers and armory. Useful things to know, even if she felt that no person in this 'Cartel' could even scratch her let alone post a legitimate threat. If she didn't have the lacrima to worry about she'd just destroy the entire place instantly and end it like that. However, that was not an option.

She knocked on the door and was greeted by a young man with a bit of a goatee. He looked her over and she told him that she was a mage here about the job and that her partner would be their shortly. She got some details from him and then waited for Brink. No sense rushing off just yet.

Brink watched as she got up and rushed to the location of the job. He did not want to run after her so he did his mellow usual walk slow and with his hands in his pocket. However, when she reached the door of the job he used one of his abilities shunpo to get on top of the building seeing, as he did not want to revile any of his powers unless he really had to. “Hmm I wonder what her real name and guild is.” He pondered this as he grew up lying and doing anything to survive so he could tell she wasn’t who she said she was but didn’t care seeing as he could tell she was powerful and simply need her for a job now. He lost all interest in making this woman a friend after her answer on the train. While he sat on the roof, he waited for the door to open and when it did, he looked at her from above wondering why she did not just look up. Truthfully, though he did not care and jumped down next to her not even kicking up a little poof of dirt. “So anything I should know about before going into the job site?” wonder if he answer this time would be true. "Oh by the way my name is Brink." He said looking at her with no light in his eyes this time.

"Most of their group are physical attacks from what the man could see with a scattering of tough mages. Their boss is apparently known as the King of Theives and nothing else is known of him. They have quite a high amount of numbers." she said and then began to walk off towards the location of the Cartel's base. As she walked she removed the mask from the lower part of her face and threw it away. Hiding her face was no longer necessary. "If we want to get a better grasp of their numbers our best way is to sneak in as prospective buyers...and then strike when we feel most comfortable." It was not the way Naraku liked to do things, but if she proposed her normal idea which was run in and kill everyone in sight in progressively more horrible ways then she would likely reveal her dark connections. Besides she was not showing her true strength to this man yet. What would be the point? This way she could keep her true power and skill hidden. It was perfect and what's more there was no hint of a lie in her voice or any of her posture. She too had grown up lying, but she had grown up being taught by a demon and then after her reversion to childhood been taught again by another demon. Two elder demons of sin had taught her how to lie. Detecting lies from her was much more difficult than most.

"Let's do this quickly Brink." she said with a faint smile. Quickly would be all these men deserved. They were too weak to survive long under her methodologies. "And remember...we need to keep the lacrima safe."

“I understand.” He said not even noting the smile he simply put his hands in his pocket and followed behind there was no way that smile was really he had finally let true joy. He could tell that smile was like one he did when with someone he found weak or eve n just didn’t want to be around it was simply fake. “So who will do all the talking or are we going to trade off making it seem we both are truly interested in this purchase?” He asked wondering what he was going to get this time seeing as indeed it was hard to tell her lies from truth. However when someone acts so cold and heartless toward a fellow member on a job showing no excitement or joy for the thrill of battle or even simply talking with some it was easy to tell she had fallen in her ways and need some more practice. “So I am going to take a stab in the dark and say you are possible from a dark guild.” This was going to make it extremely hard for him to control his actions if correct but someone this cold feeling could not possibly be from legal guild and even if she was it was simply for a job he cared not for a back story just a simply yes or no.

"Not by choice." she replied with a bit of bitterness in her voice  and it was true as was the bitterness. She preferred to be guildless, but now she was bound heart and soul to the Lichborne and his dark guild Savage Skull. The only way to leave it was to somehow break that bond and that would likely only happen if the dark one fell, which seemed unlikely. Perhaps if she grew strong enough she could resist the bond enough to break it, but that was her buisness and not Brink's. However, she had gone for bitter for another reason other than truth. If he felt pity he might grow to trust her despite her allegiance and she could find out more. "You do not look like a buyer, but you look strong enough to be a workman. Your role in our infiltration is simple, keep quiet and keep your eyes open. I'll do the talking."

The city they eventually arrived in truly was in ruins, but it seemed very quiet. Almost too quiet and they were not bothered at all till they reached the central castle. On top of the castle's threshold stood nine men. Eight of them wielded scimitars or hammers, but the one in the centre wielded two scimitars. He was draped in gold, far more that she expected. It seemed they had been spotted approaching and the boss had come to greet them. That was fine it made things easier. With a sweeping bow she removed her hat and then looked up at the man who had a quizzical look on his face.

"Greetings. I hear you've got a big collection of lacrima here." she said and pulled out a bag of jewels from inside her robe. She jingled it and then placed it back. "Mind if I take a look and see what you're selling. If it suits my needs then i'd be happy to take a whole bunch off of your hands." The man was silent for a while considering this offer. Naraku clearly had plenty of money.

"Let her in." he ordered and the large wooden gateway opened. Naraku walked in and was greeted by two men similar to the ones from the roof. One wielded a hammer, the other a scimitar. Pretty shoddy weaponsmithing, but decent enough to cut or smash. Perhaps she would show off her new sword today. They were lead through the castle till they reached a large room where the cartel leader stood along with his nine other men. "Welcome to my humble abode. Behind me you will see the lacrima, feel free to examine them." Naraku nodded and walked over looking over the lacrima mumbling to herself the entire time. "Well, what do you think? Interested?"

"Aye, we'll take the lot." she said and then paused for a moment. "If the price is right of course. How about we go somewhere a bit more comfortable to discuss prices?" In truth this wasn't why she wanted to leave. She wanted to leave so that when they attacked they were far away from the lacrima. No sense risking damaging the goods. The man considered this for a moment and began to lead the way to another room.

This was a symbol to Brink. Earlier whilst they had been walking she'd told him thusly. "If we get to see the lacrima i'll get him to lead us away from it, as soon as we begin discussing prices in another room...strike."

As Brink followed behind Miu he wondered when he was going to get a chance to attack and show off his stuff. There where ten guards with the boss sitting in the middle of them as Miu and brink where lead back to a different room seeing, as they did not want to damage the product he looked for a perfect chance to attack. Then it happened Five of them where lined with the boss and the other right behind Miu separating us. Brink took the amazing chance and swiftly pulled out his newfound weapons Blessing and Disaster. He then shot three bullets at the four end people so he would not hit miu in the crossfire. “This was a good meeting but I really have to be going.” He said with a smirk going across his face as he said it the shells shot out hitting the floor leaving a little echo as they bounced around.  He hoped the first four would just simply drop so he could take his time with the last one seeing as the other five and the boss should be no problem for the strong wizard that was in front of him though he would stay to help if needed.

Brink had listened to her words wisely and had taken them into account. He had only launched his attacks when they were safely ensconced in another room. It was perfect in all honestly. Everything had gone according to plan. However, when Brink attacked the king whistled as if to call more men, or perhaps for some other purpose. It was of no matter to Naraku. "Bring all you have. Make this interesting for me." she said as she dropped a needle of shadow into her own shadow. "Hell's Torture." she said causing ten tendrils to erupt from the shadows. These tendrils were fearsome things 20ft long and composed of pure darkness.

Unfortunately, they were not as accurate as she hoped, but two of the swordsman were lifted into the air and squeezed tightly causing them to scream. Each of the tendrils was of C rank strength. It would take a while for them to kill, but Naraku was in no hurry. It was fun to slowly kill an opponent. Their screams became like music to her.  Besides, she had other things on her mind as the king sent his twin scimitars flying at her like a buzzsaw via telekenesis. However, Naraku without much effort just moved about dodging the saw as if it was barely moving, her speed was that great. Yet whilst she was distracted by this two of the swordsman, well hammermen, both struck her on the back. Fortunately, her robe took most of the impact, but it still pissed her off. It would definitely bruise her. She turned around and snarled at them. "You boys are next. How dare you touch a lady's coat with such rough hammers."

It was this point that the new opponent's arrived, ten more of the hammer/scimitar wielders and five much weaker looking opponents. "Now we vastly outnumber you girly. Surrender and I might let you live." he said causing Naraku to turn. As she did so she saw him reaching out to touch her and she just spat in his face enraging him greatly.  "Kill her, kill them both." At these words Naraku grinned. A battle of life and death was great fun, particularly when you had little chance of losing.

Brink saw miu under attack and watched as she dodged with outstanding speed and summoning things which seemed to be working under her control. As he was thinking what to do, next he saw the two blades coming for him after they missed miu he thought swiftly using this to his advantage. He let out a smirk seeing as he was about to love this next move. Without hesitation, he jumped onto the farthest right blade making it seem the blade had destroyed him. However, he swiftly before making complete contact with the blade shunpoed behind the farthest left and will reloading his guns he threw up the clips by the monsters head and to reload tried slamming the guns straight on both his temples. Either way he knew he had more shots in his gun and he was getting ready to try a new combo he was practicing. “This is starting to get interesting.” He whispered seeing the extra minions being summoned and miu starting to show more of her dark aura. However, he did not care seeing as he was having too much fun in the battle he was in with the five minions under the boss. Letting out a small laugh but then focusing back on the task making sure nothing was missed or he did not make a mistake.

To her honest surprise the men she had bound managed to break free of the bonds by destroying them, but as soon as they did two more tendrils rose up and began to constrict and crush them again. Six of the other men were distracted by the dancing tendrils, which quickly retracted after they missed. She growled slightly. It was irritating that the men had succeeded in dodging her so well. The attack was powerful, but it was rather easy to dodge, particularly after you'd seen it once. Plus men had used the distraction to land three more strikes on her, which forced her down onto one knee. A big mistake on their part. She lunged at a group of the men and with her bare fists struck out at them. They threw up their arms to block, but her punches had so much raw power now that it broke their arms and sent them flying into walls hard enough to cause their bodies to rupture and spew blood everywhere. That was how strong Naraku was. She turned and grinned at the weaker men, the recruits, who looked at her, back to the destruction they caused, then back to her before screaming and running for their lives.

The king once again struck. This time he launched two powerful waves of telekinetic energy at her, but Naraku held her ground and was merely sent sliding back a bit. It seemed though that these bursts had been a distraction as the scimitars came flying at her, but this time Naraku decided to have a bit of fun and ducked under one and with precision and speed grabbed it out of the air and swung it about. "Thanks for the present your majesty...not really my style so I'll have to return it." With that she lunged at him. He managed to dodge her attack, diverting it with telekinetic force, but now he was one scimitar down. Naraku planned to do some damage to him with his own weapon.

After bashing one of his guns on the side of the enemy’s head and the other one being blocked he had another twelve shots. “This is going to be interesting.” He then readied himself to face the enemy’s he was closest too. They stepped into action coming at brink with everything they had. They tried to slash him with the swords they had in their hands which would make an ‘X’ like wound on his body if hit. While this was going on, he noticed miu hitting some of the enemy’s into the wall splattering them. He felt enraged she did not have to take it that far even if they died after the wounds you she did not have to attempt to kill them no matter what they did. However, he had to focus with his own life on the line. Therefore, he readied his guns to fire knowing that in this situation he could afford to hold back. He was going to shot them either way if he is hit or not he was going to finish these people off with this attack. He was finally seeing everything come in place and as they were close to him, he shot four shots at both of them without magic to save his strength.

Brink had done well and brought down two opponents who in all honest probably outclassed him. It was as much luck as it was skill, but you could only be lucky if you rolled the dice. He'd taken a risk and it had paid off. That was good. Were all Fairy Tail members risk taker? That was something she wondered as she swung in with the scimitar against her opponent.

As she charged in the two men who had been trapped broke free once more, but this time fell onto two of the tendrils which stabbed them through the stomach killing them instantly. Another one was raised into the air and squeezed tightly. He wasn't dead yet, but he would be. The others were now getting desperate and swarmed her as she went for her attack. Six of them managed to get blows on her and some even managed to draw blood. That was a big mistake. "Glory of the Slayer." she whispered triggering her lineage and her muscles bulged slightly.

As she lunged with this new strength the bandit king used his other scimitar to try and block her. The first two strikes he blocked with his scythe, but then both scythes shattered. That was when Naraku struck with her fist sending the man flying backwards with force. He managed to cushion the blow with his telekinesis, but it still was quite a powerful blow to him. He coughed up a bit of blood, broken ribs probably, as he launched several waves of telekinetic energy at her. Once more she used her own magical aura to withstand the blows, but one hit her sending her rolling back. Now things were getting interesting. She spun around and with a powerful kick sent one man flying into another so hard that they both flew into a wall. They hit the wall with so much force, despite blocking, that when their bodies ruptured you really couldn't tell the difference between them.

In a short space of time she'd reduced their opponent's numbers greatly and she was barely even trying. Six men had died due to pure physical attacks, two were in the air, and two had been skewered by her darkness. Five had run away in pure fear of her. Heck, in this flurry of attacks she'd killed four people, twice what Brink had taken down in entirety. Perhaps he feared getting in her way which was the right sort of thing. "Brink...show them a bit of your magic...i'm sure they'll love it." she said loud enough for him to hear. This was her way of telling him to step up his game. She was fine killing all of these of course, but she wanted to see his magic for other reasons.

It was as she said this that the one who was bound fell from the grip of the shadow and hit the ground. He wasn't dead, nor had he broken free. The tendrils just had a limited duration that was all.

Brink saw miu’s attacking and was indeed impressed as he heard her yell at him to use some of his magic he felt this was a perfect time to lighten the mood and have a little fun minus the situation. “Well if you come over here I will show you my magic.” He smirked as he said this gripping his guns tightly. “I don’t need my magic the way you are taking them out.” He wanted to see all the power she had because he felt this was not even close to half her true power. “However, if I get my kill count to five will you go on a date with me.” He smirked seeing, as he knew this would probably rile her up. However, the thought of him walking around the town with a beautiful woman like her was an amazing thought seeing, as he was simply sixteen. He thought maybe could lighten her mood and thought on the world even though she probably would just ignore the statement. Will this was going on however he started to feel quite strange he seemed to be enjoying hangout with this women even though she clearly was a lie and a sneak. He seemed to enjoy the excitement she brought even though it was in a way he found horrible and unnecessary. However, he had no time to think seeing as he saw her going back into motion he looked up at the men now struggling to get there freedom and then seeing them break free he wanted to take them out before they hit the ground. “Well back to the grind.” He swiftly shunpoed up into the air with the man and round kicked him into his side which would send him flying into the wall seeing as he could not dodge this blow will in mid-air. “Well that is going to do some extra damage.” He smirked as he pulled up his guns this time shooting the remaining shots to see if he would be able to finish him off there. Then before he could even see if they made contact he shunpoed over to the next one falling down and put his guns on his chest saying ‘Bullet flare’. With a swift motion, the man was hit with a blast of lighting that would send him crashing down to the ground surely killing him with the downward force created with the blast.

However, before he could celebrity he saw he was headed toward the ground. He shunpoed down seeing as it would be a pain to hit the floor from that hit. As soon as he hit though men swarmed him attacking him there was one on each side of him front and back swinging to do some more damage to the man. “Well fuck this might hurt.” He tried covering himself from the slashes with his two guns hoping he would be fast enough to block the attacks otherwise this would cause him to take enough damage to most likely stop him from fighting in this battle to much longer. Though he wouldn’t bleed out seeing as there slashes was brutish and had no true aim so they where shallow wounds and wouldn’t really kill anyone unless struck enough times.

Brink was a braver and more forward individual than Naraku had expected. She actually chuckled at his statement. "Maybe if you took down another five on top of what you've done so far." she said with a grin on her face. Not that he'd have a chance to do so as now she decided to show off the true extent of her power. This would drain her quite heavily in terms of magic power, but it should guarantee the end of the battle. "You have seen my Glory, but now I shall show you why you should bow. Prepare to meet Hell Incarnate." With those words a dark aura coated her body, her eyes turned purest red, the irises, the pupil all of it, and her hair became significantly spikier. Anyone adept at sending magic would note her power had increased dramatically. This was a technique which boosted strength, speed and magic by 80%. However, she was not done yet. Her shadow split into four replicas and from three of these emerged copies of her. They were one rank lower than her. One wielded a shadow sword, one a shadow hammer and the last a shadow axe. Naraku herself pulled a scythe out of her robe and grinned. "Playtime."

The king in desperation used his telekinesis to hurl rubble at her, but she just turned into a shadow and it went straight through her. As she reformed several of the men struck at her and five hit her, but in her current state she barely even felt it. She merely turned around and struck out with her scythe. Two managed to dodge her entirely, which was quite impressive. However, they were struck by her hammer wielding clone. Despite blocking the blows the brute force behind them was enough to make them splatter the walls. One actually succeeded in blocking an attack from Naraku's scythe, but the force was so much it didn't just splatter him against a wall, it repainted the wall in his blood. Naraku swung her scythe missing entirely as she stared at the spectacle. Even she hadn't expected that.

After quickly dispatching another opponent, by painting the wall with him. Her attention went back to the king and she lunged at him. He managed to divert one of her scythe strikes with a telekinetic burst, but she swung out with a kick hitting him hard despite his block. It didn't splatter him, because he was clever with his telekinesis, but it did so some major damage. As the kick hit she heard and felt the bones of his arms crack and break causing him to wail out in pain. This moment was used perfectly and with a swing of her scythe she cleaved him in two from the groin upwards, causing intense pain as he died. She grinned and turned to see what her clones had left behind.

Her clones were deadly. The hammer wielded hadn't killed many, in fact only one, but that one was killed by shattering the skull. The man had successfully blocked one blow using his sword, but the sword broke and he was forced to try and use his arms. It hadn't been enough. The axe wielder had been equally brutal and had killed each of the opponents by cleaving them apart at the waist. Only one of its four targets survived this brutality, by dodging the strike.
