Description
A long time ago, there was a young girl who was cursed with terrible nightmares, her mother tried to calm her but every night she dreaded going to sleep, her eyes would stay wide awake as not to see the horrors she’d see these included; Nightmares of her parents dying, her being murdered, different monsters and a terrible figure looming over her. This continued on all her nights, the terrible scenes and visions she would have drove her mad to some extent! So then, the young girl got on her knees and prayed to a certain goddess of dreams, asking for her help to battle these terrible nightmares and while usually the gods rarely listened to the plights of mortals and the cries of those that were lesser than them, this woman could hear the girls cries, the pain she went through and the constant terrors she had. The goddess herself was estranged by this because as her domain was dreams, it was odd that this girl had these since the goddess never cursed her with such terrible atrocities.. Instead of instantly curing the girl of her nightmares, the goddess decided to observe them while inside the dream, watch what was happening and analyze what could possibly be the source of them.
The goddess continued to look through the incredible power these nightmares had, it was almost as if they had their own free will, purposely coming after the girl and terrorizing her! The goddess decided she would call upon her power and fight these nightmares herself, it was nothing like she’d seen before, the nightmares grew stronger as she fought them, almost as if her being here was fueling them and maybe it was? They seemed to feed off the energy the dream gave off and with the goddess of dreams here, they would be at their peak. The goddess had doomed the young girl, feeling guilt and anger as these demons had tricked her into fueling their own selfish desires and so, she cast them out of the dream! Thinking she had won. Though it was far from that.. The woman had only brought these dreams into the real world where they could infect other people’s peaceful slumber! She could not do this alone, so she appeared to the young girl in her time of slumber and offered her a deal.. She would lend the girl a portion of her power in exchange for her assistance and that the next female born of this lineage would be named after her, the goddess.. Pasithea!
- Active Abilities:
• Speed Dream: The user is able to get a speed buff of 25% while they’re awake and 50% while they sleep, Additionally, the user is still able to react and move while in sleep mode but not any better than they would while they were awake.
• Dream Messenger: The user is able to provide one of three effects onto their allies, these being Healing, Defense buff, Damage Buff, Only one effect can be active at the time and it’s based on the user’s rank; Speed buff is equal to 25% of the recipient’s rank, Healing is 5% of the recipients max HP per post for the duration, and finally the damage buff is +25% to spells for the duration. The two buffs only last for about four posts.
• Dreamers Blessing: Decreases MP cost of all user’s spells by 25%
• Somnus Servant: The user is able to with OOC permission, paralyze the target for two posts, this is similar to how some people experience sleep paralysis.
- Aesthetic/Passive Abilities:
• Dreamwalker: Similar to the name of the lineage, the user is able to go into the dreams of others and explore their past, replaying it as if they were living in a movie. This can be used even while the person is awake as the part of the brain that makes dreams never turns off. This requires OOC permission.
• Blinking: The user is able to turn their body into a mirage like state, flickering in and out as if they were simply a dream, this allows them to teleport to places within the area but can not be used to dodge attacks.
• Dreams do come true: She may manifest certain things from her dreams onto her, such as wings to fly or a carriage to carry her and her friends. Though this ability is hard to control due to her sleeping so much and she can accidentally hurt herself.
• Feasting: Users of this lineage may gather energy from dreams, feeding on them as a source of energy though they can not do it to their own dream.
• Shapeshifter: The user is able to change their physical appearance just as dreams change, this is usually used when exploring others dreams so she isn’t recognized but can be used in the real world too.
• Other World: The user’s ancestor was blessed by the goddess of dreams! Therefore she is able to access that realm and look at the dreams of others, walking through doors into their dreams like a sort of bridge. She is able to bring others into this, but they must be willing.
• Just a Dream: This ability allows the user to bring the things they dream into the real world, though the things she summons are mostly just strong illusions or things to intimidate others unless they’re a non combat object! They only need OOC permission if the thing is capable of hurting others.
• Control: The user is able to influence and create dreams of unconscious people, usually using this as a way to calm or talk to people without them trying to attack.
• Influence: Similar to the ‘control’ ability, the user is able to influence their dreams into the real world, such as changing the scenery around them to fit whatever the user wants/is dreaming of.
