PERSONALITY

Freedom to live the life one wants to live. It's a luxury that a few people are allowed to have here in Fiore, but not many. Now one might think that having been born into a family who practically ruled over the black market would be allowed to do whatever he wanted, but they would be wrong. Due to such a strict upbringing, Naphtali appears to be a quiet and observant young man. He stands off to the side, mainly jotting down mental notes of those around him while trying not to attract the attention of others. He'll almost never speak up in front of a large group. Even so, this part of his personality comes off more so as stoicism than from a place of insecurity.

Something that Naphtali is insecure about is his family. As much as Naphtali is against what his family stands for, he understands the power and influence that can come with the name. Giving that up just isn't an option when he can think of so many ways to use it to the advantage of the new world. The people he could save my convincing them to join the cause once Elysium takes over are just too many to pass up. So when he left to go follow the whispers of Elysium to his new found family, he left under the guise of university. Naphtali does his best to hide his current actions from the Mido family, even going as far as to hide his face under a round pink bunny mask during any and all guild outings.

And Despite his lack of participation in conversation, Naphtali loves the company of his guild mates and is a dedicated worker. He doesn't agree with all of Elysium's action, but their goal of reforming the world is a dream that he holds dear to his heart, so he is willing to overlook the occasional bloodshed and vulgarity.

And it's a good thing that he loves the company of others, because he is almost never alone thanks to his Shinigami, Paresse. Due to an ancient pack between the Mido family and the Shinigami, Naphtali was granted his own personal assistant, a Shinigami names Paresse. She is a vulgar, blood loving murder junky who doesn't give two f***s about Naphtali and Elysiums plan. However, she understands that she is bound to Naphtali, and since she doesn't care about the Mido family either she decided to strike a deal. Paresse, and the rest of the Shinigami who have been forced into the "Shinigami Protection" lineage, is not capable of murder. So, in exchange for not blabbing to Naphtali's family and for her occasional helping hand in a fight, Naphtali must help her commit a murder every 2 weeks. Not being a fan of meaningless murder, Naphtali tries to get this out of the way on guild mission.

Candy: He has always had a great deal of love for sweats. He can almost always be found with a lollipop stick or ball of gum in his mouth, which really does take away from his mercenary-ish appearance.
"Cute" Things: His family didn't care too much about his sexuality, but being a boy who liked stuffed animals and pink journals was just unacceptable. Now that he lives away from his parents, he can feel free to live the life he wants to live.
Painting: He has always been a big fan of the arts, and painting in his occasional spare time. He loves painting abstract fantasies, and isn't the biggest fan of drawing from life.
Reading: When Naphtali told his parents that he was off to study at a university, it wasn't very hard to believe. He excelled in his at home school sessions, and could always be found reading a book. He still loves to read, but now that he's not living with his family he tends to paint more than he reads.
Rain: He finds it very calming. It isn't rare to find him standing outside during a thunder storm.

Eliminating Corruption: Naphtali has seen first hand was corporate greed and corruption can do to someone, or to a family. Despite disagreeing with everything his family stands for, he does love them, especially his younger siblings. He hopes that these things can one day be erased from society, and that him and his family can live a happier, simpler life.

Thalassophobia: The Ocean. An endless void filled with monsters, darkness, uncertainty, and a lack of oxygen? He's good. Naphtali's love of travel outweighs his fear of the ocean, or at least that is what he tells himself so that he can get on a boat and actually go places. Swimming in the ocean, however, is quite out of the question. Sometimes even sitting on beaches sands is just asking too much.
Erotaphobia: He isn't a big fan of intimacy, but especially of sex. The thought of sharing that experience with another human being is, for some reason, horrifying.

The Mido Family has worked in the shadows of Fiore for generations, doing whatever jobs they could to gain power, money, and influence. Of course, no one can gain this influence on their own. Hundreds of hears ago, a deal was struck between the Mido family and the Shinigami, entering them into the "Shinigamis' Protection" lineage. Ever since, the first born child of each generation has born into a pact with a Shinigami.

Naphtali was born the first of 7 to the head of the family, meaning that as far back as he can remember he has had Paresse standing besides him, filling his head with cursing and vulgarity. Of course this might explain his hatred of curse words and murder, but there was no complaining about the "helpful" Shinigami in the family. With the help of these beings, the family was capable of achieving the power they sought out to achieve. With that power, however, also came a strict code of conduct. The do's and don'ts of being a part of the family are costly, and one step out of line could be your last. Naphtali was taught his entire life exactly what to eat, wear, say, and behave. Naphtali quickly learned just how to keep his mouth shut and his ears wise open.

Although the family started years and years ago as a family of power hungry assassins, they have grown to be more of a corporate family. Under the disguise of a banking corporation, they for-see many of the trades that go on in the magical black market of Fiore. As such, his family was impressed to hear about his plans on moving out to study business at a university out of town.

In actuality, he was running off to join Elysium. He had heard rumors about them, whispers from his families body guards, and he always liked what he heard. On his way to the guild, it occurred to Naphtali that he would probably need the help of more than just a bitchy shinigami that he could only summon for a couple minutes at a time. So, he waltzed his way into the first magic shop he saw, and purchased his first magical item. A key to the Celestial Spirit World.

PERSONALITY

Freedom to live the life one wants to live. It's a luxury that a few people are allowed to have here in Fiore, but not many. Now one might think that having been born into a family who practically ruled over the black market would be allowed to do whatever he wanted, but they would be wrong. Due to such a strict upbringing, Naphtali appears to be a quiet and observant young man. He stands off to the side, mainly jotting down mental notes of those around him while trying not to attract the attention of others. He'll almost never speak up in front of a large group. Even so, this part of his personality comes off more so as stoicism than from a place of insecurity.

Something that Naphtali is insecure about is his family. As much as Naphtali is against what his family stands for, he understands the power and influence that can come with the name. Giving that up just isn't an option when he can think of so many ways to use it to the advantage of the new world. The people he could save my convincing them to join the cause once Elysium takes over are just too many to pass up. So when he left to go follow the whispers of Elysium to his new found family, he left under the guise of university. Naphtali does his best to hide his current actions from the Mido family, even going as far as to hide his face under a round pink bunny mask during any and all guild outings.

And Despite his lack of participation in conversation, Naphtali loves the company of his guild mates and is a dedicated worker. He doesn't agree with all of Elysium's action, but their goal of reforming the world is a dream that he holds dear to his heart, so he is willing to overlook the occasional bloodshed and vulgarity.

And it's a good thing that he loves the company of others, because he is almost never alone thanks to his Shinigami, Paresse. Due to an ancient pack between the Mido family and the Shinigami, Naphtali was granted his own personal assistant, a Shinigami names Paresse. She is a vulgar, blood loving murder junky who doesn't give two f***s about Naphtali and Elysiums plan. However, she understands that she is bound to Naphtali, and since she doesn't care about the Mido family either she decided to strike a deal. Paresse, and the rest of the Shinigami who have been forced into the "Shinigami Protection" lineage, is not capable of murder. So, in exchange for not blabbing to Naphtali's family and for her occasional helping hand in a fight, Naphtali must help her commit a murder every 2 weeks. Not being a fan of meaningless murder, Naphtali tries to get this out of the way on guild mission.

Candy: He has always had a great deal of love for sweats. He can almost always be found with a lollipop stick or ball of gum in his mouth, which really does take away from his mercenary-ish appearance.
"Cute" Things: His family didn't care too much about his sexuality, but being a boy who liked stuffed animals and pink journals was just unacceptable. Now that he lives away from his parents, he can feel free to live the life he wants to live.
Painting: He has always been a big fan of the arts, and painting in his occasional spare time. He loves painting abstract fantasies, and isn't the biggest fan of drawing from life.
Reading: When Naphtali told his parents that he was off to study at a university, it wasn't very hard to believe. He excelled in his at home school sessions, and could always be found reading a book. He still loves to read, but now that he's not living with his family he tends to paint more than he reads.
Rain: He finds it very calming. It isn't rare to find him standing outside during a thunder storm.

Surprises: He hates surprises. He likes to be in the know, and is constantly formulating plans in his head in anticipation for future possibilities.
Touching: He doesn't like being touched. Could be because he wasn't hugged enough as a child, but he just hates it when someone so mach as bumps into him. This affliction tends to go away once he gets to know someone, and when he's prepared for it.
The Heat: He hates hot weather. He loves wearing layers, and it's just uncomfortable to wear it all when the sun looming over you.
Vulgarity: He's a big fan of Elysium's goal of world reformation, but vulgarity just has always rubbed him the wrong way. In his mind, murder is the worst form of vulgarity there is. He'll usually keep this view point to himself unless a truly innocent person is about to meet an untimely fate by the hands of a colleague.
Paresse: He doesn't hate her, and she certainly has her use, but he sometimes wishes he could be alone. Or be forced to spending the rest of his life with something less... vulgar.

Eliminating Corruption: Naphtali has seen first hand was corporate greed and corruption can do to someone, or to a family. Despite disagreeing with everything his family stands for, he does love them, especially his younger siblings. He hopes that these things can one day be erased from society, and that him and his family can live a happier, simpler life.

Thalassophobia: The Ocean. An endless void filled with monsters, darkness, uncertainty, and a lack of oxygen? He's good. Naphtali's love of travel outweighs his fear of the ocean, or at least that is what he tells himself so that he can get on a boat and actually go places. Swimming in the ocean, however, is quite out of the question. Sometimes even sitting on beaches sands is just asking too much.
Erotaphobia: He isn't a big fan of intimacy, but especially of sex. The thought of sharing that experience with another human being is, for some reason, horrifying.
Disappointing the Family: One of his biggest fears is that he will be discovered by his family, or by someone who works for his family. If they were to find out about him not only lying about school, but working for the benefit of something outside of the family, they would see him as nothing but a traitor that needed to be dealt with. Now, Naphtali doesn't fear death, but it would certainly be a noticeable inconvenience.
