Who would have thought that such a beautiful blade could have such a dark past? And yet, there is no doubt that the Apocrypha was at the center of many dark and terrible events. Rumor says the magic imbued in the sword comes from four mages who were sacrificed, and whose blood was used to forge the weapon. But that is a tale only, and unsubstantiated. What is known is that the Apocrypha had long belonged to a family of dark mages, many generations of whom have used the blade in an attempt to bring the end of the world. Thankfully, of course, none of them have succeeded, and the last attempt, almost a century ago, led to the death of the last known member of that family. The blade fell from the public eye, seemingly lost from history. Until Sayuri discovered it at a tiny antiques shop, covered in dust and cobwebs, but still containing a great magic simmering inside. Her interest in swords meant that she recognized it at once, and she quickly claimed it before the shopkeeper realized what a relic they had on their hands. Many people would have shied away from associating themselves with a weapon with such a troubled past. However, Sayuri believes that she can take an instrument of former evil and turn it into a tool meant to save the world, not end it.
