It had all been to much for the young red head to handle, not that any could blame him really as he was constantly under surveillance by his personal butler Lynus. That was before the never ending studying, company work, then there was the fact his grandfather had stepped down making his father the head of the family and that bomb was dropped on him while he was tired and finding out about the whole thing with his brother and his former guild. He always tried to be the good son, doing what was expected of him without fuss but now he had enough of it, treated like a child when it suited his cloak and dagger family when it suited them and then treated like an adult at other points; if he didn't know any better he would think he was bi-polar thanks to how his family treated him and his family where the sickness. Well except his elder brother Artemis, he actually gave a damn about him and how all this was affecting him; they both knew however that Artemis would never stand up against the family on such a thing. It would just cause hassle for the both of them and then who knew what would happen, he had never personally been on his fathers bad side that often but he knew for a fact he got off a hell of a lot lighter than his elder brother did.

As soon as the hassle at the front of the Dagger Corp Headquarters in Era had been sorted he hadn't bothered to hang around and chit chat, in fact he had simply left without a word. What had happened there wasn't him, he knew not to air family matters in public when people could hear or to strangers and yet he had. He needed some time by himself away from everything the only problem was his family was known absolutely everywhere it seemed, it wouldn't be that hard to find him. That would be something he would have to fix along the way it seemed, he had decided to take a trip to where his brother's former guild once was by foot keeping from cities, roads and other populated areas along the way relying on nature for things to eat and drink. This suited him just fine as it meant that it would be harder for him to be found, unfortunately he did come across a few people a long the way but that was to be expected no matter where a person was headed. At the moment he was dressed in a thick white winter coat, black hat, black gloves, black woolly scarf, black jeans and black winter boots to make sure he was warm. He had been walking for so long he had forgotten to eat but he had finally made it to his destination.

Biting his lip he moved towards what little was left of the former legal guild known as Black Rose, he had no idea why it was here to chose to be. Perhaps it was curiosity or it could have been due to it being the last place they would think to look for him, whatever the reason he was here now quietly moving around the rubble and what was left of the guild hall. He knew this place wasn't exactly the safest but he really didn't care at this point, he was going to die one day there was no out running death after all; still the way things were going it would be his family that would place him in an early grave. The sheer thought of such a thing made him shake, this wasn't anger though it was fear, he was only fifteen and he was afraid he wouldn't make it to see sixteen. Walking around the ruins of what would have been the inside of the guild he found a wall and slid down it bringing his knees to his chest, eyes closing as he closed his eyes still he was still aware enough that if anyone got to close he would be ready to fight them if needed.

With a heavy sign the brown-haired mage looked down at his tablet, for probably the thousandth time. It was strange how getting personal ties, associations, and even friendships seemed to effect jobs. This one in particular would be extraordinarily awkward. Time seemed to be moving at a far more rapid pace than the assassin was used to. It was only a couple weeks back that he had, at the behest of some powerful people, aided in the destruction on an entire guild, and the death of multiple people. Afterwards, about a week back, he had been asked to aid the son of those people in defending from what could only be called Christmas from hell. Now here he was, three days after receiving a contract walking down the winding streets of Era.

Three days ago, he had once more been contacted by the Dagger Family. Apparently, they needed help in finding the youngest son, and for some reason seemed to believe hiring an Assassin, again, was the right move. Truth be told, Mortitrice would never have taken a job like this even so much as a month ago. Too much baggage, so many chances for something to fuck up. However, this time it was different. He had recently made a friend, and joined that friend in an underground assassin organization. A friend which just so happened to be the older brother of the very boy Meititrice was asked to find.

Obviously, he had immediately reached out to his friend, and now guild master, and that had led to his current predicament. Artemis Dagger had asked that he bring Ren to the guild, directly to him, to ensure that Artemis got a chance to talk to the boy before their father did. However, the job had asked that he immediately bring him, by whatever means necessary, to the family estate. Generally, he would have followed the letter of his contract. This time however, he agreed with his friend. After all the Dagger family head didn’t need to know when Meititrice had found Ren, only that he did and swiftly brought he boy back. A small detour along the way would easily be missed, that is of course if the assassin could get the younger dagger to agree to join him.

It was that thought that had Meititrice in his normal guise, that of Damian a simple mage what had helped, and was friends with Artemis. If Ren was to trust anyone, it would be him, after all showing up in guild uniform would likely only scare him off, and he had no reason to know or trust a white-haired stranger. With a deep sign he once more looked up at the notice board. He was preparing to leave for Sakuramori, or the Rose Garden. Truth be told, Meititrice… Damien… Whatever he was going by right now doubted the whispers were true, but he had to follow every lead he had, no matter how small. If he was lucky, he would catch some sign that the younger dagger had in fact been there, and he could find some trail to follow.

Damien sighed as he boarded the train, this would have been so much easier had he been able to find and question the butler.

Remaining completely still in the area that he had chosen to seat himself, his eyes remaining closed as he listened to the silence around him. He knew that this most likely wasn't the brightest idea that he had ever had but it had all been weighing on him, he needed the time to reevaluate everything before making his next move. He realised within the ruins of his elder brothers former guild hall that for the first time since he could remember, he could actually breath, it was like a weight had been lifted from his chest not being near his family. He had to wonder if this was how Artemis felt the entire time he was gallivanting as a free spirit and guild mage, free from the ever high expectations that their family placed on them. It felt as if nothing but perfect was ever expected and even when everything was how it should be half the time it was like they still failed to meet expectations. He was wondering how they expected him to continue the way he was going, he understood that being born into a family like his came with certain requirements but he was still a teenager but had been treated as if he was an adult from the moment he could understand what the hell was going on in a board meeting.

Opening his eyes as a wind moved through the hall he looked around the ruins of the once proud guild, he still had to wonder just what had motivated once great people that many would look up to in their time of need to go against the governing body of magic. Well to be more accurate try and take them out. This guild had the biggest congregation of wizard saints, two of them even being gods of Ishgar, it just showed the youth that nothing could be taken at face value in the world of magic. He brought up his own hand and for a short moment it glowed a golden white hue and watched as a rose formed a smile came to his face, it was a parlour trick that he had learned when he was small from a family friend when they had been visiting, at least he thought it was a family friend. His eyes went wide in fear however as the aura that created the rose changed to be a deep crimson and purple, he watched as the rose seemed to be sapped of its life force to the point it just crumbled int to ash. Quickly he closed his hand and brought it to his chest his right hand going to his left as if to protect himself from an evil deed that he just done tears falling.

It was the same outcome every time he done it, it scared him because if this was something to do with his magical energy then did it really mean that he was a bad person but just didn't know it yet? That this was what he was really capable of? Then there was a fuzzy memory he had, well he thought it was a memory but it could have just been the vivid imagination of a toddler he just couldn't remember fully. He was at the training hall with his older sister Pandora and his mother sitting on the side lines, his father had belittled his older brother for some reason and then something happened that made the destroyed the hall. By his memory if it hadn't been for his mother using a shield spell then they could have been hurt, amongst the rubble in the fuzziness stood his brother. He didn't believe his brother would ever hurt him and so put it down to being a nightmare that a toddler might have a long time ago but between what seemed to happen with his own aura and that whatever it was he was actually scared to use his own magic at the best of times.

Something just out of his sight caught his attention and made the youth stand, he dusted himself off and walked towards it cautiously as right now he was in an unknown area and on his own so he knew there was a chance to be attacked or ambushed. Then again he was always taught to leave nothing to chance, in fact this was one of the few things that were drilled into him from multiple sources, he swore it was like it was getting the same lecture from his father everywhere he went for the longest time. Crouching he blinked seeing some damaged books and papers, he knew his family likely had went through this place with fine tooth comb the moment they could to take information they deemed useful. Moving some of the rubble however he came across what he could only describe as a leather bound book that seemed to have managed to survive the explosion unscathed. Opening it he began to read it, it was a bunch of names which confused him, why would they have a book filled with names? Then again given the rumours that had came out since the disbandment and destruction it could have been tied to something like that, that was until he thumbed to near the end and seen a name that he recognised all to well. A name that hand him drop the book as he realised what it was "A-Artemis.." he whispered almost as if he didn't want to disrupt the ghosts of this place, he had found the guild roster for the once powerful guild known as Black Rose. How far it must have fallen since the moment it had been founded.

After a long moment he picked up the hand bound book, it stood to reason that it would have enchantments on it that prevented it being destroyed. Biting his lip he knew his family would look bad if this had been found by anyone else as he knew public relations had spun it as his brother had never been a guild member, that it had been someone using magic trying to tarnish the good name of the dagger family well before all this had happened when he found out about the corruption. The book on the other hand stated that he had been an active member at the time shit hit the fan. "This can't be left here... it can't be found by anyone else... the implications and ramifications..." sure he knew it could damage his families reputation but that wasn't what he was concerned about right now, he was more worried about the backlash on his brother given what happened at the meeting. He actually feared what would happen if his family got their hands on this so he didn't want to give it to them, he sad down thumbing the cover as he decided what was the best course of action. "Arty is the only person who should be allow to decide its fate... it affects him first and foremost, it could even give him the separation he wants from the family, if it ever came to that." he whispered his eyes never moving from the guild symbol, he eventually placed it to his inner coat pocket as he looked to the sky wondering how to get this into his brother's hands, it wasn't exactly like he could send it through the mail.

Meititrice glanced about and took a deep breath. He knew the room well, and in truth doubted he would ever have been within its depths again. Looking about he placed his bag on the bed, and changed real fast before glancing out the window. He could see the rubbled remains of the Black Rose guild hall, it looked clean, but ruined. No one knew what to do with it, and as such it just sat there, waiting for someone to clean it. Meititrice was actually surprised Dagger Corp didn’t purchase the property, or at least… keep better tabs on the location.

When the assassins contacts had pointed him here, he thought it must have been a mistake. There was no way the younger Dagger brother would come to such a location. The recklessness, and outright fullishness involved in making such a choice baffled the assassin. What if someone from the guild noticed and wanted revenge, what if media was covering the story. What would they think of one of the Dagger boys being a such a place unaccompanied?

Dagger Corp had put so much time, and effort into hiding the fact that Artemis was a member, there should be nothing tying the family to the guild. Taking a breath, Meititrice made his choice. He was not going to be able to handle this like a traditional job, in fact he knew he couldn’t. He had to handle this like Artemis’ friend. Someone the younger Dagger ‘might’ trust.

Once his armor was removed the assassin glanced into the mirror. Staring back at him was the same brown haired, confident look that belong to Damian. The same man Apollo had met at Dagger Corp just a small time ago. With a final look at himself he stepped out the door and started walking.

It did not take Damian long to find the youth. He was not hiding after all, walking through the rubble. He just rounded the bend to see Apollo leaning down and grabbing something from the ground. Damian could see leather, but could not make out exactly what he was looking at. Just that the youth was interested in it, and seemed to be reading its contents. It was as the teenage looked to the sky that Damian spoke.

“Apollo.” Damian said the name loud enough to draw attention, but silently enough to not draw unneeded attention. “You have no idea how worried everyone is.” He said simply, his voice giving away nothing of his true attentions, his training proving its worth. “Its me… Damian. Artemis sent me to find you.”

Damian decided to start with the truth. After all Artemis did in fact send him. Mr. Dagger did as well, but the assassin had already made his choice. Artemis was his friend, and that was who he would support. Even if it did mean he was not getting paid. Damian doubted he could get away without telling Apollo more information, including where they were going. Damian just hoped he didn’t have to threaten the teenager, after all he doubted, he would win the fight. Still, he stood confidently with a friendly look on his face.
