“Absolutely not,” Aeron said, crossing her arms angrily over her chest.
She was standing outside a game stall at a summer carnival in Cedar with Thana, who was desperately trying to get her to play. The only reason she was even here in the first place was because the raven haired woman had dragged her there. Thana absolutely adored large crowds and the chaos that came from them. For a sociopath, she was quite sociable. Aeron on the other hand was not. She detested being around people, resorting to it only when absolutely necessary or when she was forced to. It was an unfortunate reality of her life that she could never get away from Thana.
This was because, unbeknownst to Aeron, Thana was little more than a figment of her imagination, a hallucination that only she could see and hear. Both women were fragments of the shattered mind of Trinity, who had no idea that either of them existed. The nature of Trinity’s magic was such that whenever a different personality took over as the leading consciousness, her physical body transformed to reflect that change. In essence, this meant that someone could know all three aspects of Trinity’s being and never realize that they were talking to the same woman.
Aeron herself appeared as a woman in her early twenties with extremely short brown hair and bright cerulean eyes. She flicked her gaze up to a man that had been staring at her too long. “Can I help you, jackass?” the woman snapped at him, completely unaware of the fact that to everyone around her she had basically been talking to herself since she showed up. He scurried off in a hurry, eager to get away from the crazy lady.
“You’re always so rude,” Thana chastised her, though the amusement on her face betrayed just how much the other woman enjoyed when Aeron was being a bitch. “No wonder you don’t have any friends. Anyway, why don’t you want to play? Weren’t you just complaining like ten minutes ago about how hot it was outside and how hungry you were? This game solves both of your problems at once!”
“Yeah, in exchange for making me a laughing stock in front of hundreds of people. I’ve had my fill of that life, thank you very much. You go play it if you’re so excited about it.” Aeron shoved her hands in her pockets with an aggravated huff and started walking off.
Thana rolled her eyes and followed. “Seriously, you need to learn how to have fun.”
“And you need to learn how to sod off.” They walked only a few more paces when something suddenly rushed right past her ear, something so hot it briefly felt like she was burning. Aeron reflexively jumped to the side, holding her hand up to her head and frantically patting some of the smoldering hair on her scalp to keep it from fully catching fire. “What the hell was that?!”
Following where Thana was pointing, she saw a small group of four, tiny humanoids with wings. There were wrapped in bright red-orange flames and zipping quickly through the patrons of the carnival, causing dozens of people to jump the same way she had. Thana was giggling, of course. She always took delight in the discomfort of others. Aeron just growled her annoyance, already done with today. That was when the pixies came shooting back around toward them in their obvious quest to harry and harass people.
Seeking revenge, Aeron reached around into a booth that carried a few baseball bats for a ball hitting game. As the pixies came racing back in their direction, she lined up her shot and swung the bat as hard as she could, hitting one of the pixies so hard that it crashed through the walls of five different booths, lighting them on fire. As people began shrieking and scrambling to get away from the quickly growing flames and Thana dropped to the ground in a fit of wheezing laughter, Aeron’s eyes went wide in shock and horror.
“...Oops.”

“...Oops.”
Please forgive me if I don’t talk much at times. It’s loud enough in my head.
