It’s that time again! In honor of the summer, and various festivals and events, staff have decided to host a mini event, celebrating the solstice and summer air. The deadline for completing and turning in event threads is Midnight (GMT) on the 10th of July!
Anywhere
The sun rises high into the air, and the day is the longest it will be all year. From this point on days will get shorter, and nights will get longer, as the world progresses into its darker half.
As the solstice passes marking a magical time of transition within the year. Magic can be felt throughout the land, while the magics of Light and Fire are at their strongest. Midsummer has become a day of celebration, mirth, and happiness, a solar festival held by mages and non-mages alike.
In celebration, various cities and towns throughout Fiore and beyond host festivals of fire and light, while hosting games of chance and skill. Mages use this time to harness the elements, and prepare for winter, while Non-Mages enjoy the festivities and feasts.
However, this year something powerful is stirring, elementals, sprites, and other creatures which flourish in the light are trying to halt the festivities, and end the transition into winter. Your job, as mages is to put a stop to these creatures, and make sure the natural order is kept intact…
Or not.
To complete the event you must complete one of each “enemy” whether that be fighting the monsters, or completing the games.
For this event, fighting is not mandatory, and spawning can be an option, or done at random for added fun. Each type of “monster” will have a “combat” option, and a “festivities” option.
Magic throughout the land is affected by the transition and the Summer Solstice. Mages with Light, or Fire based magic get a boost to their strength, while Darkness, Water, and polar elements feel magically drained.
This boost or drain is OOC/Stateless, meaning it affects the character internally and does not have to be reflected in stats.
Members can sign up in teams of 2-6, a single character can sign up only once, however there is no cap on how many of your characters may participate in this event.

- Weak:
Weak - 4x Fire Sprite
With a burst of embers four sprites spring into being running around the festivities. These generally playful tricksters are now causing havoc, starting fires and adding to the chaos.Weak - Bobbing for Apples
A typical festival game, a large trough seems to be filled with apples and water. Using only your teeth, no hands allowed you must stick your face into the ice cold water, cooled to offset the hot day, and get an apple. Should you succeed, the apples are delicious, and perfect for such a harvest day.
- Normal:
Normal - 2x Light Elemental
With a flash of blinding light two humanoid sized creatures made from pure light appear at the festivities. These creatures attack anything in sight, especially those who seem to have darkness or cold based magic.Normal - Ring Toss
While walking the festival grounds you see one of the most common games, a floor of bottles with various colors line the area. You are given four rings, and your price is determined by how many rings you land, and the color of the bottle.
However, from the first toss you notice something is wrong. It seems IMPOSSIBLE to get that golden bottle, and you feel a drive to try again until you do.
- Strong:
Strong - 2x Mages
Suddenly with bursts of magic two mages start to cause chaos, proclaiming that Summer shall rule all seasons, and that the will be ending winter, cold, and its grasp on the rest of the year. These mages are at an average strength for each member in the thread, and control magic associated with Light, and/or Fire.Strong - Dunk Pit
As you enjoy the festivities, you suddenly hear someone call out, describing you in some insulting way. If you look, you would see a man dressed obscenely sitting on a board placed above a tank of water. The game is simple, throw a ball(weighted improperly), at the plate with a bullseye painted on the front. If you miss, or don't “throw hard enough”, the man sitting over the tank sends another insult your way.
The man seems to be completely dry, despite how long the festivities have been going. What isn't known is that the plate is enchanted, making succeeding in this game far harder than it looks at first glance.
- Boss:
Boss - Cernunnos
Just as the festivities are hitting their peak, the music is loudest, and the sun is highest in the air a shimmering portal of green and yellow energy forms, stepping from it is a creature of legend and myth. Cernunnos, the Horned God of the hunt, standing eastly two men in height is a mix between man and beast surges forward. Though he does not attack with magic, he seems to be heavily resistant to all forms of spells, and his speed is far faster than one would expect for a creature of his size and stature.Boss - Strength Hammer
Finally, the hardest game of all. What at first seems to be a simple pole with a bell on top turns into a frustrating game of ‘strength’. The task is simple, hit the plate with the hammer to test how strong you are. Yet, somehow this game seems to involve more than strength? How do you succeed...
