Kyran peered around the chapel. It really was a magical place. They were lucky to have found it. Even more lucky that it was able to transform into whatever they wanted. Kyran had spent a long time molding the chapel into an exact image of the chapel in his books. A lot of it was living flame to bind together the dark phoenixes and their chosen mates. It looked more beautiful than Kyran had initially imagined it to be. His head was on a swivel trying to take in the entirety of the interior.
"Stop that" Masha growled at him. She was attempting to fix his suit. Apparently he'd put it on all wrong. "Head forward. Don't move." The succubus muttered under her breath as she buttoned, straightened and generally undid everything Kyran had made a mess of. The Blood mage kept his attention elsewhere during that time. He had no need to upset his sister. Not now when her outburst would probably wreck the carefully set up ceremony. A shiver ran through his body. Gaia would chase both of them around with a giant knife if they messed this up.
Couldn't this have been more of a naked wrestling match? Make her submit before making her yours? Medea piped up. She'd been rather bored with the whole marriage prep. Ahriman and Erebos seemed equally bored. Malinda on the other hand was suspiciously helpful with little hints. Kyran suspected the snake had something planned for the wedding night. Not that there would be much other than cuddling. As such, the redhead wrinkled his nose at the cat's suggestion. Even that small movement drew a glare from Masha. No moving, right. His mind drifted toward tonight, after the wedding ceremony.
After his daughter's death and the prospect of potentially never having kids, Kyran had grown less and less interested in sex. Instead he revealed in simply spending time in Gaia's company, massaging her shoulders, propping up against her legs to read or write. He was trying to learn new recipes to cook for her too. Nothing overtly sexual had happened for at least a week. Probably the reason Malinda was coiled to strike when she had the chance. This might be her last chance in a long time. Kyran didn't know how his recent attitude change regarding sex was affecting Gaia. She might kick him out of the bed entirely.
"There, all done." Masha said straightening. She fluffed her hair a bit. "Now there is my dashing older brother. You look positively scrumptious!" The succubus beamed before flouncing away. She probably wanted to prepare her speech. Kyran chuckled, happy that for once, his sister was wearing something appropriate. A suit encased her from head to toe. It was in the colors of Dies Irae, the guild Masha had recently joined. The blood mage hoped that it would help her through her rough patch. The smiling happy woman he'd met originally seemed to be rapidly disappearing. Masha tried to keep up appearances but Kyran was her big brother. He had a supernatural ability to tell that something was wrong. That his little sister was fraying at the edges. He was frustrated at his inability to help her whatsoever.
Now was not the time for such thoughts however. The music was about to begin. The people needed to be in their seats. Aodhfin, Masha's holy phoenix companion, would be officiating the service. He needed to be on stage. Kyran needed to be on stage himself. It wouldn't do much good for the groom to be missing when the bride walked up the isle. The blood mage turned away from his view to begin herding the small wedding party and guests together. It turned out Masha was already going about it. There weren't many there for Kyran. He didn't go out of his way to make friends. It simply wasn't in his nature. All he needed was Gaia and Masha. Maybe a select few others like Yona. That was it.
Satisfied that his best man - sorry woman - had things handled, Kyran approached the stage. He paused before it. An inexplicable feeling clutched his breast. A great dread pushed down upon his shoulders. Was this the best move? Would putting Gaia into Gruen's cross hairs be the wisest decision? It wasn't too late to call everything off. He could invite Gaia's family. They'd be a catalyst to a boiling pot. Gaia might just kill him over it. Then they didn't get married and Gaia was safe. Nothing to it. His demons and Eae tried to clamor in his ear. For once they were all in agreement with their arguments. The gist of it was Gaia was the best damn thing that had ever happened to Kyran. He didn't disagree. He simply doubted their ability to keep each other safe from his older brother.
A gentle touch brought his attention around. Masha stood before him with a gentle smile. A tiny mousy haired woman stood beside her. Ami, if Kyran remembered correctly. Another one of Masha's servants or whatever. He couldn't remember what her powers were for the life of him. His sister had brought her and others for a little extra protection. Masha's lips parted, bringing the incresssingly frantic redheads gaze back to her. "You can do this. Don't let Gruen ruin everything for the two of you. You've worked too hard for this happiness, denied yourself for too long." She hit him in the shoulder. "Besides if you try to run, I'll hold you down while Gaia castrates you. You are not getting out of this, Kyran Dyer." Ami shot him a smile and walked away without saying a word. What a strange girl.
"Thank you, Sis" Kyran said after a deep breath. "I'm... not good at this kind of thing." Masha gave his suit a pointed look. The blood mage laughed, feeling the last of his worries fall away. Clearly it was obvious how bad he was at this. However, his sister didn't care and his fiance wouldn't either. This was their day. Kyran and Gaia's. Finally bonded together for the rest of time. He clapped Masha on the shoulder before ascending the stairs to stand beside the burning white phoenix. Now, everything was posed to wait for Gaia.
And the music began...
