A young woman with short hair coloured like the ocean walked through the Neutral Ground. Her sapphire eyes shone unnaturally bright in her snow like face. She wore heavy boots, dark jeans and a black jacket with underneath an icy blue coloured shirt. She walked steadily through the busy streets in between tall skyscrapers. It was a truly modern city in Fiore. Kaja loves visiting the Neutral Grounds because it’s modern but a more important reason, it was a place without magic. Her demon, Omni, could not haunt her here and that was a great relief. She didn’t have to be scared of Omni’s trickery and mockery. Which brought a great deal of stress and anxiety on her. However, Kaja doesn’t like to stay for prolonged times within the Neutral Grounds. Without access to her magic, she couldn’t defend herself as even the weapons she had on herself were fuelled by ethernano. The thought of a situation were the Rune Knights or Bosco’s law enforcers would find her here would start to haunt her, more persistently than Omni haunts her, after a while.
She wasn’t in the city with the purpose to escape here demon, thoughts it was a welcome benefit, but to get a gadget. The gadget is an Ilac, a device that can be used to contact other Ilac with written messages or voice messages. It’s not necessity revolutionary to her as such technology is widespread in Bosco, the country she is from. She also has an inbuilt system that works similarly. But that system doesn’t work well with being undercover or if she wants to hide her true self from the world. Kaja has lived her whole life in the shadows and Fiore has opened up the world to her, she has had a taste of the forbidden fruit. It ignited a spark in her inner darkness and it’s a good feeling. Something she wants to explore more. Could a normal life fill the emptiness she was feeling? She couldn’t just leave the shadow behind, as she still feared to stand fully into the light and day. For what if she was found by the enforcers of law? The guild she recently joined guarantees a certain amount of protection, and for now a stable income. Money was very important at this stage, after her exile from Bosco. The Ilac would be a means to explore the legal world, to the ability to meet new people and contact them. It was also said that the Ilac had many other features, some features she had built in herself but also features that were unique to that device. She does hope that she can connect and intergrade the Ilac with her own system, that way she can access it without using the Ilac as well. Which could be useful.
Kaja stood in front of the Ilac factory where they, strangely, gave away the Ilac for free. She would scan and diagnose the device for any viruses and spy software. Something she absolutely didn’t want to have with her.
