Her victory over Eyal was still fresh in her thoughts and the delight that she felt every time his decapitated body appeared in her minds eye was indescribable. Oh, how she wished that it had been the king instead but for now, that was simply a dream. As confident as Sarisha was in her ever growing abilities, deep down she knew that she did not yet have the strength to pull that off, especially in his current paranoid state but that only pushed her onwards. Her actions had driven him to the point of madness, at least from what she had heard from those who had fallen to her and why they lie about such a thing? The fact that they did not turn a blind eye and lie about it only convinced her that it was the truth. She did wonder what he was thinking now, up in the heavenly castle, watching her as she spat in his face on a daily basis. It was an amusing thought and even the usually grim goddess had to smile slightly at that image.

There was a scent in the air which had caught her attention and that was the sole reason why she was heading towards a building known as Sky Tower. She knew little about the place but her time with Valara had taught her that whenever the scent of holiness reached her, then it was her task to wipe it out. That was the deal that she had made with her godly partner and even now, after all of their adventures together, she still felt that sense of excitement and pleasure at the thought of ripping someone limb from limb. The curious part about this particular scent though was that it was not one that she could remember from Valara's memories, which not only caused her to feel instantly suspicious but also caused her to consider the idea that perhaps it was just a false trail. Usually, she could recognise any god or goddess from some distance away but this one was a mystery. It was possible that the king had already replaced one of those that she had killed with another but with his rationality, that seemed questionable at best. No, perhaps this scent was not a god at all and perhaps something else.

Leaving the forest that she had been travelling through and coming out in to a clearing, Sarisha found herself looking up at an enormous great building, which she naturally assumed was the tower that she had been looking for. It certainly rivalled the holy castle that she had torn her way through recently in terms of size and grandeur although looking at it, this place seemed to lack the holy feel to it. As she approached, she could see images of birds and dragons decorating the stone, which caused her to raise an eyebrow in confusion. She had no interest in beasts and Valara's knowledge seemed to be rather weak in that area too. They looked fierce but images could be deceiving, as could size.

"I figured you would come, if I waited long enough," uttered a voice from behind Sarisha, causing the goddess to swiftly spin around and then turn her gaze upwards.

A woman, wearing a white coloured armour was hovering in the air before the mage, her head covered by a helmet and a large pair of white wings spreading from her back.

"I am Angelica, one of the king's holy guardians," she said sternly, a staff forming in her right hand, "This has gone on long enough and it is my duty to put a stop to this, now. The king has been convinced that it was Valara that caused you to commit your crimes against our realm and because of that, he will allow you to live, human. However, in exchange, I will be taking the soul that resides within you back to the heavens and she can be punished for her crimes there. There is no negotiation here and you will accept these terms."

"Angelica?" Sarisha responded with an immense amount of scorn, "I have not even heard of you before, let alone care about your duty. The fact that I am unable to even recall you means that you must be new to your position, in which case, you would be wise to simply leave now and return to the king with your tail between your legs. You are beneath me and unworthy of dying by my hand. I will not waste my time with a pawn, send one of your knights instead or better yet, your king and queen."

"You believe that by killing Abeline and Eyal that you are worthy of bringing the royalty down here?" Angelica questioned with an equal amount of scorn, "They are the lowest order of the deities, as you well know. You would not last a second against any of the high order and you are surely aware of that as well. I am offering you a way out and I suggest you take it, otherwise, I will have to take Valara by force and I cannot promise that you will survive that."

"I believe that every single member of the order is a pathetic coward who lacks the courage to do anything and should be exterminated like vermin," Sarisha countered, "The king made a mistake in banishing Valara to this world and together, we will make him regret that mistake. You cannot tear us apart because you do not understand the bond that we share. It is only when the gods are at deaths door that they understand the strength of our partnership. I am not her puppet, I am her lover and we were made for each other. You may as well rip out my heart because that is what you will do if you succeed in ripping her from me. The only way this ends is with your death, if you insist on trying this."

"Then I have no option but to rip out your heart," Angelica replied coldly, drawing her staff and firing a bolt of what looked like white lightning towards the goddess.

Rather than dodge, Sarisha stayed where she was, defiant and confident. She could almost smell the alluring essence of Valara at that moment and could feel the blue skinned beauties arms wrapping around her shoulders, embracing her from behind. Sarisha's words were spoken not just from her heart but Valara's too.

The lightning tore through her body, causing her to start twitching almost instantly, feeling like every nerve in her body was on fire. She screamed in anger and rage, her shrieks loud enough to be heard from miles away. Angelica knew what element to hit her with and Sarisha cursed at the thought of lightning and the bastard who controlled it. It was only now, as she was being hit by its savage bolts, did she recall the weapon and who its true owner was. It was not Angelica's weapon but that of the lightning god's himself, a vicious piece of shit that Sarisha wished to carve the throat out of. A wish that would one day come true.

Dropping to her knees, the powerful bolts continued to strike her and yet, something strange was starting to happen. She did not feel the spirit of Valara slipping away from her but instead, it was becoming stronger. The pain was bringing them closer together and the pinkette's magical power was rising instead of falling. Just what was going on? She and her godly partner had never been so close as they did at that moment and she could actually feel the pain of her lover as well as hers. That was when she realised and everything seemed to click together. The king had once again underestimated the strength of their bond and the lightning was not tearing them apart but fusing them together even further.

    This was harmonious symbiosis.

An enormous pillar of water erupted from the ground beneath Sarisha, shielding her from the lightning and causing the winged angel to back up in confusion.

Only to find herself backing up against something, causing her eyes to widen and to suddenly turn around, finding a crushing right straight coming in her direction which smashed her in the face and sent the angle plummeting to the ground. Coughing, Angelica rolled over and found herself staring up at an image that she thought that she would never actually see.

Hovering above her was a frightening creature, standing at eight feet tall with large claws and a tail, as well as a pair of enormous wings. It was monochrome blue in colour, with its hair, skin and eyes all being of the same shade. The look that it gave the angel could wilt even the hardiest of souls and it was at that moment that Angelica realised just how fucked she truly was. This was the true form of the water goddess that had been banished to the earth so long ago and the form that Sarisha had fallen in love with the moment that she had set eyes on it.

This was Valara, unbound and unchained.

The voice, however, was not Valara's but Sarisha's although it was much deeper in tone.

"Well, well," Sarisha said, her voice dripping with rage, "Who knew that you would be of some use after all? I must thank you, Angelica, for allowing us to achieve full harmony. Up until now, the two of us have never been able to truly communicate with each other but now, thanks to you, I will now be able to enter my inner world and speak to my lover whenever I wish and plan the demise of the heavens."

Creating a whip of water, she cracked it towards the angel and bound her in its watery grasp, before lowering herself to the ground and mounting Angelica.

"Now, I am going to use your face as a punching bag, in order to test the strength of this form," she said darkly, lowering her head briefly so that her face was mere inches from the angel's," Be a good girl and lie still for me."

She then began to batter away at the angel, pummelling her with an uncountable number of strikes or at least it seemed that way. Sarisha unleashed everything she had and made Angelica pay for the torture that she had been put through. It was sheer and unadulterated cruelty and the angel long stopped struggling before the goddess was finished but eventually, the sound of flesh of flesh ceased and everything went silent.

Angelica's face was almost unrecognisable while Sarisha's hands were absolutely drenched in blood, yet the mage could still feel a pulse and mockingly tapped the angel on the cheek softly to wake her up.

"Still alive?" she asked, her new form's blue eyes burning in to the Angel's.

"Barely, no thanks to you," Angelica said, turning her head away and spitting out a mouthful of blood, "I would ask why you have allowed me to live but I all ready know the answer to that. Just do it and get it over with. I have brought shame upon the gods by aiding you and I deserve to die for that but know this. That form of yours will still not be enough. You cannot win this, no matter how hard you try. There will always be another for you to fight."

"That is not something that you need to worry about any more,"
the goddess countered, "Know though that they will all soon be meeting up with you in hell, I can promise you that."

Before another word could escape Angelica's lips, Sarisha leaned forward and silenced her with a kiss, followed by a dome of water enveloping the pair and hiding them from view. When it vanished again, only Sarisha remained, wiping her mouth with a lustful smile on her face.

Curious, she then walked over to a nearby puddle of water and briefly admired her new form. The goddess had never been particularly vain but she had to admit that she was captivated by her new look. Unfortunately, her time for admiration was rather short as after a minute or so, her form faded away, returning Sarisha to her normal state.

Smiling slightly, she simply knelt down on the ground and closed her eyes, focusing her conciousness inwards, where her lover was waiting for her. At last, she had enough control of her magical power to be able to do it herself and who would have thought that it would have been partly due to the interference of an enemy? Strange indeed.
