As Amalie was handling the last of the children, she felt a curious tug inside her. Her magic stirred, yet it wasn't her commanding it. She glanced over and saw Johann apprehending someone. Her glistening shards were hovering around him as he seemed to … scald someone? She smirked, so the magic binding did work. And undoubtedly Johann had figured out hers pretty quickly, well it made sense. She could still feel the intense, raw energy from him; it had been an intriguing oppurtunity. But she doubted that she would actually get the chance to test it out before they left, which was kind of a shame, when else would she have the change to wield such tremendous power. She was just handing over the last box to a little girl when she heard a shriek.
"What are you doing?! There are children in here!" Someone yelled, Amalie glanced around to see a man standing there, he looked tired and dishevelled, he had a plain face which was contorted in rage. In his hands, he held several knives, shaped like broken hearts. He gripped them between the gaps of his fingers.
"This is wrong; everything here is WRONG! This is some kind of sick twisted way of rubbing love in our faces. Wake up people; LOVE SUCKS!" He roared angrily, Amalie tilted her head. Well, she didn't exactly disagree, but still, his actions were intolerable. Normally Amalie wouldn't have minded a fight; it certainly would make the job more interesting. But today was different, there were too many innocents around, children at risk. She couldn't mess around with this one. Amalie turned towards him,
"Stay out of the way children." She said over her shoulder before walking across the room towards him. She needed to handle this smart, the guy had weapons, and there were a lot of people here. If he chose to attack, someone could get seriously hurt.
"Please calm down sir, If you have a complaint you can speak to me. However, I must insist you put down your weapon." His eyes fell on her, standing there in a wedding dress. His eyes softened for a moment; then he only seemed to get more emotional. Tears welled up in his eyes.
"NO! You see! Look at you in that dress! How can you flaunt around like that, when I...I..." He let out a cry, launching a blade at her. She leapt to the right; the knife tore through the skirt of her dress. Amalie glanced down at it,
Well so much for returning this in one piece. She thought casually, her magic rose up through her throat.
"Discipline" The word echoed from her lips, and the air around her hands began to crackle with electricity. Two long whips began to form, she threw her right arm out, the whip moving with her, in mid-air the whip split into two. Each end wrapped itself around the attacker's hands, shocking him and causing him to drop the knives. She threw out the second whip, wrapping it around his neck, she yanked him down onto his knees. She upped the voltage in the whips, shocking him enough to immobilize him completely. He yelled out in pain; he at least would be held in place for now.
"You bitch... how dare you..." He began,
"You realise what your standing for right now, all of you disgusting people. Pretending to be loved up and happy, you're all miserable, don't you see. So you should just die! I'm going to erase this farce called love... because it's not real."How disgusting.Amalie looked up, surprised to her Anima talking round now. Not only that, he didn't sound the way he normally did, his soft and gentle voice, albeit still silky and smooth was now laced with venom. She felt nausea wave over her; she felt numb all of a sudden. Her arms began to move by themselves, she swapped the grips of both whips into her left hand, freeing her right. Except that, it wasn't her doing it.
My body...Anima...is this you... Her right arm rose up, her palm stretching out. Amalie felt panic rise inside her, what was he doing? He had never done this before, move her body without her permission.
"Shards." Her eyes widened, he spoke... through her. How? Her mind began to pound with an intense migraine, her body trembled. She felt sick to her stomach like she was going to pass out. Shards of glass appeared around her, hovering in the air around her. Then suddenly the glass flew at the already restrained man.
"NO, PLEASE!"Amalie screamed, the shards stopped mid-air.
Anima...please don't... She thought pleadingly; she knew it was him. She could feel it, his hate towards the man, the murderous intent. He was going to kill him in front of all these people, in front of all these children.
He doesn't deserve to exist Amalie. He has chosen to inflict suffering on others for the sake of his own misery; he is a despicable human. My father granted him existence, and he squanders it. As he replied the shards began to move once more. She needed to do something, but she couldn't, her shards weren't listening to her.
But there was something that might.
It was there, at her disposal.
Help me... She thought, reaching out to the magic. It reacted, moving through her body, from her open palm, a concentration of negative energy formed in her palm. Before blasting outwards, the projectile smashed through the shards onwards towards the man. The shards disintegrated into the air becoming nothing but negative energy. As the strike hit the man, it suddenly exploded outwards. Knocking him backwards, the man crashed into a stack of chocolates and fell unconscious from the blow.
See what I did there Anima, looks like I can still use magic or at least Johanns, now you will return my body to me, or I'll use that on myself. She threatened, she knew he would give in. Anima wouldn't allow her to harm herself; it was why he had rescinded when she had stabbed herself before. She felt the feeling return to her; her arms fell lax. She stood there, as the wave of nausea slipped away. She stood there, collecting herself. She walked across the room, summoning another air bubble. She allowed the bubble to expanded, lifting the unconscious man towards the store's exit. She stopped as she went to pass Johann, not sure whether to explain herself or not. In the end, she decided against it, figuring that hopefully he would understand.
"I'll take him to the authorities, I figure you can handle the rest here." she said, she went to take a step and paused.
"You know, for what it's worth, You were the best husband I ever had." She said with a soft laugh, before continuing out of the shop, floating man in tow.
