A bustling city was normally not the best place to go when your control over a dangerous skill was pretty wonky. Yet, against her better judgement, Ilda was in a major port to get something she'd always wanted- a ticket out of this country to explore the world and find people who could accept her dangerous gift and feisty nature without deeming her something far from human or mage- a monster.

She hated being called a monster with all her being, yet it had happened again that day. On the road into Hargeon Town, Ilda accidentally burnt a child who grabbed her hand while she was putting on her gloves that had just been mended by the boy's mother. She'd warned them ahead of time, but they still seemed stunned when a light burn tore at the boy's hand. Hours had passed since the event, but she was still bitter and broken over it. Hopefully the passport she desired would give her a way to find someone that would understand in a foreign land somewhere.

The line to the passport was long and winding- far too many people were on the way to leaving this land as Ilda longed to. Apparently, the idea was held by a vast variety of people, though Ilda had her doubts that any of them had the same reason she did. Surely she was the only one called a monster regularly for her lineage alone.

Standing on her toes to see over some slightly taller men, the impatient woman tapped one foot and fiddled with her gloved fingers, praying the line was shorter than it appeared. "Dangit, can't this thing move any faster?" She grumbled, biting her lip slightly. In front of her, a man turned to glare at her. "Shut up, I know we're all waiting. This is just way too many people for a dang passport. I thought most people had them already!"

As she sighed and tried to wait as patiently as a fiery temper could, a fight broke out further down the line. Apparently, someone was trying to use shifty methods to cut ahead far down the road- and while it meant losing her spot, Ilda couldn't just stand back when she saw a cheap trick being used for something, especially something like this.

Rushing out of line, she sped toward the heated argument and took her wooden bat to the head of the man trying to cut in front of a mother with her little kids. "Cheap tricks won't get you there any faster, but they'll get to the hospital if you don't get your butt to the back of the line now." The fire in her eyes terrified the man enough to get him to run off. The two children, who'd started crying from the argument and violence, were pat gently on the head by the woman that scared them. "Sorry to scare you... I just wanted to keep you from losing time to that fellow. He was being unfair to you, wasn't he? To such cute little ones."

In the end, Ilda was given a spot in line with the mother and her children as thanks, though she'd tried hard to leave it be. Alongside the trio, Ilda soon enough was given a passport of her very own when she gave all details necessary to retrieve it. Holding it close, she smiled lightly. "Finally, I have some freedom..."

    [End]
