    Spoiler:

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

What was it with people and stealing in Hargeon Port? Mythal knew that the rundown areas of the town weren’t the greatest but there did seem to be an increased rate of theft in comparison to what it used to be like. Mythal himself had made a bed in the dark alleyways when he’d wandered through this particular port town and gotten too much to drink. Granted, that felt like years ago in comparison to where he was now. But he had gotten to know a few of the stragglers around these parts and while theft was a problem, it wasn’t this… highly regarded. Yet here was another job posting, asking for someone to help find a burgled item.  The God Slayer pulled down the posting, reading it over briefly before he folded it up and put it in his pocket.

Apparently some rich fellow in Hargeon had a priceless family heirloom snatched from him in the middle of the night. He had managed to wake up in time and chase the thieves back to their hideout but he had stopped from entering. In fact, it sounded like the place that the thieves had escaped to wasn’t so much a hideout as it was an entirely new realm. A doorway that had once been buried in the earth had apparently been set free by some kind of disaster some years ago and had lain dormant until recently. The man had described the world as ‘looking like it was made of pure crystal’. While it sounded completely delusional, it also wasn’t the first insane claim he had come across. There was a substantial reward offered for the return of the heirloom, something he was always happy to collect.

But he paused before he walked out of the guild hall, his brow furrowed. He was an A Rank wizard now, at least according to the directory at Fairy Tail. And while he was more than happy to continue on doing jobs himself or being paired up randomly, he also knew that he was ranked rather high in the guild. It wasn’t like he was some lowly C or D rank that could knock out jobs to try and gain jewel as fast as possible – now he had a responsibility to uphold. Admittedly, it wasn’t his favorite thought in the world but that didn’t make it any less true. That meant he should take into serious consideration trying to help some of the other wizards progress themselves forward and offer them opportunities to take on jobs with him. After all, Fairy Tail was an inclusive guild that was all about forming bonds and partnerships. He wasn’t looking for anyone to bond with like he had with Serilda, Markus and Nessa but that didn’t mean he couldn’t be, at the very least, friendly with his other guild mates.

    “Lost in thought, Mythal?”

The God Slayer nearly jumped back into the front desk as the voice broke his thought process. He looked around for the person talking to him, finding no one at first. But then his head dropped a little and he found the small Demi-God of Storms, Susano. “How the… When the hell did you get here?” Mythal asked, scratching his head.

“It is not hard to track you, Mythal Ragnos. The air about you is… fraught with a strange magic,” the former champion of the Tower said, nodding wisely. “I was hoping to embark on a quest with you. I know you take on these… ‘jobs’ and wish to accompany you.” The midget demi-god explained.

“Funny, I was just thinkin’ I should broaden my horizons with the people in the guild…” The God Slayer muttered, scratching his chin.

Susano nodded. “An excellent idea. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet more of your comrades. Let us form a party that shall make the earth tremble and the skies cry out in fear,” the samurai declared triumphantly, thrusting a hand to the sky.

Mythal simply blinked at him and shook his head. “Yeah right, we’ll get right on that. ’Ey you,” he said, nodding at the woman that had just walked by him, in a half-hearted attempt to get her attention. He walked up to her and put his hand out for her to shake, displaying a surprising amount of confidence for someone that generally didn’t like to. “Name’s Mythal. I was wonderin’ if you would help me with this job I just picked up? Also this is Susan, he’s a midget demi-god. Long story.”

No point in paddling in the shallow end. Mythal dove right into the deep end of putting himself out there.

“Mia, Mia! Mia!!!!” A voice spoke with excitement. However, Mia could not hear her companion, known as Momo. There has been a lot going on lately in Mia’s personal life, and she cannot really comprehend it properly. Then again, considering how daunting it could be to her, she has every reason to be… overwhelmed by the prospect.

Earlier that day, Mia was simply enjoying herself until she was called by her mother to come downstairs. She was wondering what was it that was so important, but it soon became clear what her mother had in store for her…

In the end, it transpired to Mia being given a suitor to marry. Mia tried her best to protest but in the end, her mother won. If she continued to decline then she would have ruined her family reputation apparently. Not cool, not cool. She was pretty damned unless she found someone to suit her own tastes.

Slowly but surely, Mia came back into focus. She was walking slowly and despressingly, always letting her feet play chasies with each other. Usually, they would be chasing each other happily, but they were not as happy as they should be, reflecting their owners personality.

“Are you upset about your mother again?? You should do what makes you happy, Mia?” Momo spoke, flying in front of her face before slowly flying into the girls arms and allowed the Liu noble to cuddle her. “Why do you always let her control you guys??”

“Because shes pretty much in control of the Liu family in Fiore. This isn’t Midi…” The girl answered before she sighed softly. She didn’t even take notice of the guy who tried to grab her attention.

“I understand that the Liu family have a strict protocol to follow and whatnot, but I don’t believe that going on some honourly fling is going to improve matters.”

Momo almost choked the moment Mia mentioned the words “honourly fling” and tried to not laugh. Luckily, the guy who tried to get Mia’s attention earlier stepped up his game. He walked up to her and threw his hand out for a good ol’ shake. Mia took his hand, cuddling Momo with her free arm, and then shook it lightly before bowing her head low in greeting.

“Oh, hello there!” She spoke politely. “My name is Mia, from the Liu family. As for the job, I would love to! And this is… Susan… right… Hey! This is Momo! I think you two will be good buddies!”

Upon saying that, Momo flew out of Mia’s free arm and then plopped herself on the floor, using one of her floppy ears to wave to Susan.

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

“It is actually Susano, Hero of Midi and Demi-God of the Storms,” the midget announced himself proudly, taking a moment to sweep his rounded hat off of his head and give the woman a proper bow. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Mia of the Liu family,” he continued to say with his head bowed. Then he rose up and gave a gentle bow to the Exceed that had flown down to the ground and gave him a wave. “It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Momo. I am—“

“You literally just introduced yourself, Susan,” Mythal cut him off before he could do the same routine again. He scratched at his chin before he continued. “Sorry. He’s been cooped up for a real long time,”

“It was many centuries ago that I, Susano, entered the wretched building known as the Tower,” the demi-god explained, his hands weaving in the air dramatically like he was crafting an intricate weave of literature. “Perhaps while we travel to our destination, I can enlighten you to my tale. Where are we bound for, Mythal?”

“Hargeon,” The God Slayer explained as he pulled the posting out and offered it to Mia to read. “Apparently some rich guy had some family jewels stolen in the middle of the night. He followed the thieves but they dipped into some kinda doorway that led to a different world. One made of crystal or somethin’. He thought he saw some shadows movin’ in there so he ruled against goin’ in himself. Looks like it’s gonna be our job to venture inside,” he explained, summarizing the job up as simply as possible. He had to admit, now that he said it out loud, a door locked away leading to a different world was unnerving. Ever since his run in with Faera’s portal and the door that led to her dark world, he wasn’t sure he liked the idea of simply walking through mysterious doors. But payment was payment and the guy needed his stuff back.

“Hargeon? Was that not the town where the Tower staked its menacing claim and where you bested it?” Susano asked, stroking his thin beard.

“You mean bested you,” The God Slayer corrected him.

“Unwittingly beat me when I was off guard,” The demi-god counter-pointed.

Mythal rolled his eyes and looked back to Mia. “I got a lacrimacycle out front if you want to take that. Or we can jump on a train. Either way’s fine with me,” he said with a shrug. One would provide more room than the other, though he had recently attached a side car to the vehicle. Serilda’s pet, Xiuhcoatl , was getting far too large to fit in the small little cubby he had made in the bike itself. Easier to give him his own seat but it was big enough to fit a human as well.

Post by Guest 12th January 2019, 3:34 am

Mia couldn't help but giggle at what he was saying. He really was rather funny with Susano, and they make up for a bit of a comedy duo. It goes to show how strong their friendship is, and that was a really beautiful thing if she was going to be honest. The tale he wanted to enlighten her and Momo with was already rather amusing, if she was going to be honest, he didn't even have to tell her it to make her assume that.

Hearing Susano ask the question about the job, and then Mythal reply. It made Mia curious of sorts... why would a rich guy was jewels stolen...  he tried taking them back but got lost, yada yada. That didn't make any sense at all, the guy who very likely had everything, including already a lot of  jewels, wanted jewels?? Couldn't they just... repplicate their real jewels with fake ones or something??

"Unfortunately, taking both of them would make me sick. Dragon slayers are weird like that." She admitted. Then again, she was more than a dragon slayer, she was a demon slayer too, but ignorance is bliss when it came to slayers. "I shall fly with Momo, you can take the cycle if you want, Momo is really quick at flying because her floppy ears produce more speed than most exceeds." Mia mentioned before glancing over to her floppy eared exceed.

"Leave it to me!" Momo span around a few times before flying over to sit on Mia's shoulder. "Whenever everyone is ready, I will carry Mia to our destination. She is really lovely to carry to be honest, so don't worry about me." She admitted before showing off a grin.

"Last minute prep, do we need to do anything before we go??" Mia questioned Mythal and Susano before she crossed her arms. "Or are we able to go and get the baddies??"

Mia had a few thoughts in her head as she asked that. Just what was going to happen exactly? What if something happened that caused Mia and Mythal to forceably give up?? Sure, she knew that Mythal was much stronger than her, she could just sense it. However, she knew that strength was not everything, and he could probably just be taken down as quickly as her if he was outnumbered.

But the thought of her and Mythal going through a hard time made her excited too, she cannot wait to kick some butt! She was not going to let anyone slow her down, she was just as potent at taking down the evil ones. After all, it wasn't her family honour she was going to be affecting.

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

Mythal had offered the extra seat on his bike on a whim, a step forward that he normally wasn’t used to making. Normally he would just assume that any partner he had would just find another way to get where they were going. But considering he was just getting to know the woman, he didn’t want to just assume that. But she explained that, being a dragon slayer, she would get motion sickness from riding on it. His brow furrowed a little as he stared at her – she was a Dragon Slayer? It was odd, she didn’t seem to smell like a Slayer. Perhaps different variations of Slayers smelled differently, as was obviously the case. Instead, she would take her exceed Momo with the very large ears, that apparently could move quick enough to allow her to fly. "Sure, if that works,” he said with a slight shrug. If it worked for her, then that was fine with him.

“Such strength! You have my respect, Momo,” Susano said with a gentle bow of his head, showing that self-same regard. “But perhaps Ms. Liu is correct; maybe we should acquire some items for our quest?”

"I’m good. So if there’s anything you need to grab ‘fore we go,” he addressed to Mia. If she chose to grab something, he’d wait patiently for her. Otherwise, he would lead them outside to his lacrimascycle. Susano would hop in the sidecar, folding his legs across one another and taking a meditative stance. The God Slayer would roll his eyes and then start up the bike, waiting for Mia to get into the air and then would take off.

The trip to Hargeon wasn’t too long – an hour or two at best when moving at full speed. As the port city came into view, Mythal slowed his bike down until they came to a stop. He pulled out the job sheet and looked it over, memorizing the directions to where the rich man had seen the cave. Then he started them up again, taking them down the odd dirt road that led towards the rocky field just outside the city. He stopped just outside the grouping of large stones, not wanting to damage his bike by driving over the small stones and dirt.

Onward they went in, in search of a cave that had formed from a crack in the land. As they walked, Mythal glanced over at Mia. "So dragon Slayer, huh?” He asked her. "Mind if I ask what uh… kind you are?” He wasn’t sure if asking such a question was offensive so he phrased as carefully as possible.

The interactions between Momo and Susano was really funny! The both of them seemed to get along well. Then again, Momo got along really well with everyone, it was the way she was with them, and she can be rather motherly too. It differented between Mia’s personality completely. Mia was anxiety ridden at times, while Momo was simply goofy and easy-going.

“I don’t need anything either, so we are all pretty much ready to get this show on the road.” Mia spoke. With this, Momo got ready to carry Mia, and thanks to Momo prepping to carry her master, they both appeared safe, all while they both tried not to giggle at what Susano was doing.

“I’ll see you on the other side!” Mia exclaimed as Momo started to carry the slayer in the air. Mia would force her hand free and wave at Mythal and Susano during the flight. “Have a safe journey!”

High in the air, it certainly seemed to take some time, but Momo wouldn’t stop until she has completed her task.

“Momo, the sights are so pretty! And we can see Mythal on his vehicle! I wonder how long Susano can keep his stance.” She chuckled.

“Considering who Susano is exactly. I am betting your jewels on forever!” Momo stated before she looked down to her master. “I am gonna follow Mythal as quick as possible. I need to focus to match his pace.” With this, she flapped her floppy ears as much as possible and then started to make her way to the destination as quickly as she can.

As soon as Mythal stopped. The duo made their way to him.

“Okay Momo, I am gonna let go now, it must’ve been a pain carrying me for so long.”

    “Okay! Be safe!”

With this, Mia did indeed let go, and Mia landed on the ground before dusting her clothing. Momo then flew over into Mia’s arms and then yawned. It was vexing for her, but it was worth it.

Following Mythal, she was questioned into what type she was. This made her chuckle nervously, she wasn’t sure how to answer since she was two types of slayers.

“I am just gonna say it boldly. I am a flame demon slayer and I am a light dragon slayer. As far as I know, dragon slayers get really sick when travelling, and to be honest I do not want to experience that.” She admitted. “My family makes its pride on its fire users. I could not learn their fire magic and so they hired a demon to do so. Rather lovely, right??” She asked before smiling nervously.

Post by Mythal Ragnos 20th January 2019, 12:33 am

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

Momo and Mia took to the air, soaring high above them as they rode to Hargeon Port. Susano awoke from his trance after some time and glanced upwards to the sky, squinting his eyes at the dot that was their partners. “I admit – I am very impressed with Momo’s tenacity. Many others would have fallen, like a stone in a pool of water, after this amount of time flying.”

“Clearly you’ve never met an Exceed before,” Mythal had shouted over the roar of the lacrimacycle. At this point, he’d met a few. Each one had proven to be unique in their own fashion but they all shared a similar trait; a strong affinity for flight and carrying their partners. Momo was, clearly, no different. After some time, they finally reached their destination and Mythal came to a stop. Mia and Momo came down from the sky, the human landing first before the Exceed floated down into her arms. Clearly the trip had worn its way into the creature’s body but nevertheless, they had made it without question.

Mythal put forth his question, not really sure how one asked about each other’s slaying magic. He’d only been able to sense certain magics and comment on them, which led to explanations. Mia hadn’t explained herself right off the bat, merely mentioning her dragon slaying as a reason to why she couldn’t travel on vehicles. Now that they were alone and walking through the maze of large stones, it seemed as good a time as any to just… ask it. Luckily Mia was more than happy to be upfront about… well, both her slaying powers. It seemed she served as both a Flame Demon Slayer and a Light Dragon Slayer – combining the two magics into one person. She hadn’t experienced the uneasiness of travel herself but she’d heard enough tales to avoid testing the theory. She also explained that her family consisted of avid fire magic users and when she had proven incapable of learning it, they had hired a demon to teach her instead.

He frowned but not because of her story, though it was quite the tough one. Well, if she was going to be honest… “My mother had intercourse with a Fallen angel to create me so I could be the puppet to a Fallen God. Before she could take over my body, I fought her off and took part of her magic for my own,” he explained. To prove his words, he held up his own hand and covered it in the black gauntlet made up of his shadow magic. He quickly dispersed it. “Trust me, I know what family pressure is like,” he admitted, attempting to show her some comradery. It would hopefully be relieving to know that she wasn’t the only person that had her magic forced upon her.

Post by Guest 31st January 2019, 4:50 am

To know that the both of them were pretty much pressured to have magic in such difficult ways made Mia feel relieved. She always felt that no matter what happened, she would make through everything that would be set out for her, whether it would be willingly or by force. Then again, Mia has always made the most of out of every situation, or at least, tries to.

“I appreciate you telling me.” Mia admitted. “To be honest, I always thought I was the only one feeling such iffyness. I guess it comes in all shapes and sizes though. I am sorry you went through that, but hey, we get through it in the best way possible and we grow.” Mia then smiled with reassurance. It seemed the both of them were going to get along well.

Soon. Mia stopped and then glanced around.

“Something is abound.” She spoke before looking over to her companion. “I don’t have a good feeling about this. I can only hope this is… well… where it is, or we are nearby it anyway. Where do you think the door is though?? I can’t really spot it anywhere.”

Mia was getting more curious by the second, did it just look like a normal door now?? That can’t be. From the way Mythal spoke about it, there was a lot of things that would make the door look abnormal in the first place.

“Is there something i’m missing?” She asked herself before walking forward a little more. “Maybe it is a little further…” Mia convinced herself this was the case before she went back to normal and started to not look around like a maniac once again.

She remembered some of her family telling her that they were the same. The moment something didn’t feel right or go right, some people may or may not go around as if they were a bunch of lemons and only stopped when they felt satisfied enough. Now that Mia has experienced it for herself, she reminded herself to stay calm.

I've been out there and seen the things she's made

It was nice to have someone who could understand. There was a trepidation to having greatness thrust upon them; to have a magic beyond one’s wildest imaginations suddenly at their beck and call. Mia clearly understood this, more so than most people perhaps. Certain people could take power and run with it, sometimes going wild with it. But the two of them were so careful, so nitpicky on its use and lore that they felt the need to be careful. “Thanks. And uh… sorry about yer family’s pressure… that sounds heavy,” he said, nodding to her. Gren had never put much pressure on him but he could understand it to a point, like looking through a glass into a different room of the same house.

Mia stopped and expressed some concern over their position, stating that she had a bad feeling and wondered where the door was at. “Door to a different world ain’t exactly the kind of thing that shouts ‘good news’,” he said, agreeing with her. “But the door s’posed to be in a cave mouth or somethin’ around here,” he waved her on, assuring her that they would find it when they found it. It was only a few minutes later, as they rounded a bend of high boulders, did a cave opening appear. And already Mythal could make out the trimmings of a grim black door, its surface an odd metallic material that seemed to absorb the light around it. He walked right up to it carefully, reaching out slowly until his fingers pressed against the flat surface of the door. It must have sensed his presence as the door cracked and began to open, the gap widening until the entire entryway was open.

And indeed, right beyond the entryway, was a world made up of crystalline structures. They were not manmade but were still beautiful to look upon. Multifaceted and varying colors filled each crystal as it rose from the ground in jagged points, creating a forest of the glassy structures. A narrow path, clearly traveled by many, worked its way through the spires of crystal, leading deep into the world. Mythal sighed and glanced back at their group, nodding. “Well… no time like the present,” he said with a shrug before he stepped into the world. It was a bit cooler than the one he had just been in but beyond that, the only difference was the crystals. With their path set, he led them onwards.
