History and Personality
Ruso grew up alone, with his mother, who was an accomplished archeologist. When Ruso was only 2 years old, his mother discovered a fascinating ruined temple and fled with her son, where she spent the rest of her days raising her son; and together they deciphered the runes of the temple as he slowly grew older. Neither of the two could use magic, so Ruso was raised to fight so when the time came that his mother passed, he could defend himself.
One night, Ruso was awakened by his mother's screams and quickly rushed to see what was wrong. When he entered the chamber with a giant mural that the pair had deciphered as a map of celestial bodies, he saw his mother floating in the air seemingly being held in place by a sinister dark purple force emanating from the aforementioned mural. She turned to look at him with tears in her eyes, and the words "We finally did it" were the last thing he heard before blacking out.
Ruso awoke in front of the map, his mother missing, and a strange sensation in his chest. He lifted his shirt to find that the mural had copied itself in a dark blue/purple ink onto his chest. The ink of the tattoo seemed to glisten, almost as if it was a direct portal to the stars themselves. After this incident, he found that he was able to use the powers of Ancient Cosmic Magic, a power that he did not fully understand. With his mother gone and this new, unexplained power at his side, he set off to try and find the meaning of his powers; and test their limits while he was at it.

As for Ruso himself, he is not incredibly excitable. He tends to be a bit more laid back but does make sure to enjoy the finer parts of life. He spends a lot of time studying and practicing his magic so that he can find the most effective ways to use it. He has no issue making friends, and around other people acts incredibly friendly, but if not currently engaged in conversation, he usually has a look on his face as if he's staring off into space or incredibly deep in thought. He doesn't actively rebel authority, but he isn't unwavering loyal to it either. He prefers to follow his own path and doesn't have a particular bias towards other people's motives and opinions, though he will help out people in need if it is reasonably within his power to do so. He finds some fascination in modern technologies, as he spent most of his time studying the map in the ruins. He has little to no hesitation or qualms about killing people but does not do so cruelly or indiscriminately, as he only sees it necessary if they are actively and intentionally getting in his way, or attempting to assault him. He doesn't try to avoid battle, as he sees it as an opportunity to experiment with his magic. That being said, he also doesn't intentionally look for battle, as he sees that as inconvenient. His general behavior during battle is alert, but free-spirited or playful, using most battles as an opportunity to learn and improve, as well as test his powers. During a battle, he likes to try new things and test his and his opponent's limits. He has high respect for those talented in combat and tends to excel at it himself since growing up he never had magic to lean on. Because of his comfortability with weapon-based combat, he often uses his magic to create powerful magical/energy weapons.
