Re: Life of a Maid
Demi had slowly grown bored within her life inside the West Fiore Trading Company, not to say it wasn't fulfilling as it was on many levels. She was able to help and watch over the child that once was the one she was bound to in a place she could only describe as hell; on his brief return she had protected him and it had cost her, her life but she didn't hate him for that in fact he had tried to get her to let him out of the capsule that she placed him in. She could still hear Ruvel's cries and his tears as he banged against the glass. Yes, she was suppose to have died that day but before she could take that final breath he had forced a summoners bond with her, the only time she had come to understand that he had done such a thing. Since then however a lot had changed and the bond that kept them as summoner and summoner had all but broken, that hadn't stopped her from remaining by his side however to help and protect him the best she could. She had officially been employed within the West Fiore Trading Company as a hostess or maid depending on what was needed at the time. This honestly didn't bother her as she was trained to blend into a situation from a very young age and done so well.
Going to the company job board she started to look over a it for a few things that weren't to time consuming and picked a few up by taking the flyers, it was then under the flyer for giving blood she seen something she had almost missed. "Housekeeping?" she said reading over the details with her blood ruby eyes with a sigh "This isn't house keeping this is being maintenance and security..." her quiet tone showing she hated the misleading title of the job. "I really do wish people wouldn't put misleading titles, it's like those click bait videos you see on those lacrima viewers. You click only to be disappointed you aren't getting what it said." she could only shake her head in annoyance "Might as well do it and prevent any actual maid falling into the trap I almost did." she said taking the flyer and heading down to the docks to grab a company ship to one of the port towns where she would then take a train to Clover town, followed by a taxi to take her to the house in question "Let's see... a leaking roof, a fly issue and the neighbour's dog who keeps getting in." she couldn't help but feel frustrated as why didn't they just get an exterminator, a roofer and the pound involved? Irregardless it was her problem now.
Getting to the house she could see it was a cottage so at least it wouldn't be to bad, or at least thought that it wouldn't; she also knew that it might have been far different inside or the troubles could be far worse than the flyer had stated. She really hoped that wasn't the case or she was going to ask for hazard or additional pay to deal with any secret task that wasn't on the flyer if she had to deal with it, then again taking the job she only agreed to do what was stated on the flyer and if she got to annoyed she may just leave a few problems that she herself made. Approaching the door she took the key from a nearby fake rock and let herself in, the place looked lived in but as she walked in she seen a black mastiff running right past her and grumbled as she followed it closing the door behind her. The albino woman could already tell this was going to be a pain in her ass as she seen the dog clawing at the door and gently grabbed his collar taking him back to the next door neighbour. Approaching the door she knocked and waited as it was opened a smile on her lips "Hello, I'm working for your next door neighbour while they are away and your pooch here managed to get into her house." her voice bubbly and calm as she watched as Frank ran into his house "Oh thank you, I was looking all over for him." the elderly woman said "Miss, it seems he frequently enters my current employers home and I am sorry to say it needs to stop as he is causing damage to their belongings." she explained calmly "Oh, yes... I can reimburse them of cou-" "You could but I am sure some of the things that are being damaged are sentimental and so can not be replaced." she interrupted the elderly woman "Also you are elderly and dear frank is still a puppy, if you pass who will care for him? I would suggest that perhaps you find someone to adopt him. I seen a wonderful family near by that had a large yard and two children that could give him a lot of love. I am sure they wouldn't mind you visiting." she said trying to sell her idea, at first the elderly woman looked cross at what was being said to her but then sighed an nodded "You're right he is quite the handful, I will take him and see if I can find a loving family for him. I may see if I can find a nice cat to keep me company." she said taking the leash and attaching it to Frank's collar who knew what it meant before leaving for town.
"One issue down two to go..." she said to herself as she headed back to the house and towards the door Frank and been clawing at before heading downstairs and covering her nose as she smelt something foul, turning on the light she seen a meat cellar where everything had gone off and it was covered in flies "No wonder she had problems, this is a health hazard." going back upstairs she grabbed black bags and such cutting down the meat and placing it within them before taking it outside, this took several trips to complete. When she was done she washed her hands and put a fumigation bomb down in the cellar and closed the door knowing it would kill the flies, incinerate their bodies before letting out a air freshener smell strong enough to cover the decay. When this was done she headed to the lacrima and called for a special trash pick up explaining there was a lot of soiled meat that had to be disposed of and quickly, she was pleased to hear that it would be gone within the hour.
"One last thing and there is no way I am going to attempt to fix that roof on my own, I am not a thatcher." she said calling a different number and speaking to the young man on the other side calling in a favour. Within fifteen minutes the boy was on the roof fixing the leak. She waited until he was done which was several hours before he was walking down the path, to her the debt was now clear. She was suppose to have claimed his life around six months ago when he fell through a roof and onto a spike that should have impaled him, instead she said she would spare him but for a favour down the line. he had agreed and she tore the scroll she was so glad she could do that every now and then because it came in helpful for times like these. Satisfied that everything was done she closed the door, locked it and placed the key in the fake stone she had found it before making her way away from the property to deal with one of the other tasks she had to do while in Fiore,
