Description: The Librarium Obscuri (the Hidden Library) is a metaphysical plane of existence belonging to the entity known as Uaggool, deity of forbidden knowledge and journeys, especially quests to acquire knowledge, worshipped by a subterranean race of psionic tentacled horrors called mindflayers. The plane itself is a gigantic dream-like library, with surreal images faintly visible in the distance. The Librarium Obscuri is a plane of great power, and is actually a subsection of a greater plane called the Travectio Infinium, the Infinite Crossroads. It is said that one who has the knowledge can traverse almost infinite distances in very short time by using the Travectio Infinium. But be warned, it is not a place to spend too long a time in, unless you own the place.
When Uaggool tried to devour Beira’s mind, it ended up being destroyed by the corruption in Beira’s magic. Now, Uaggool is a part of her mind, and the Librarium Obscuri is her own, for all intents and purposes, allowing her to utilize the strange knowledge therein to attack her foes and aid her allies, and use the Librarium itself as a storehouse. Since Uaggool is believed to work using laws, most effects must be performed by executing a ‘precept’, which is simply evoking an arrangement of ancient, forgotten runes, as this magic is, in a sense, a form of script magic. The name of the precept must also be called, which creates a disadvantage if the caster is unable to speak, as the precept will not be carried out. The faintest whisper is more than enough to do the job, though. The effect of each precept is unique and varied, and involves, but isn’t limited to, summoning ephemeral constructs from the Librarium, retrieving or bestowing knowledge, for good or ill, and traveling over longer distances than the laws of space and time can naturally allow. Due to Beira’s natural magic having been tainted by Orcus, a dark elven god of war and death, many of the constructs retrieved from the Librarium tend towards weapons of war.
- Unique Abilities:
- Pilgrim of Worlds: Beira uses the Librarium as her own nifty backpack, and can store or retrieve items within it noiselessly, said items appearing in her hands. This follows every rule regarding how much equipment can be brought into a thread (just think of it as an invisible backpack that Beira doesn't have to zip open to store or retrieve items). More importantly, Beira can 'store' and retrieve herself, by jumping into the Librarium and out again in any location within her rank burst range in an instant. This is obviously a teleport, appearing as though Beira turns into inky black smoke and faintly glowing runes, which implode and wink out of existence, before a burst of similar smoke and runes appear, and Beira condenses out of the mass, in the blink of an eye. It can only be done once per post.
Plot Mechanic: Beira can use this ability to create portals with which to travel across vast distances, and even planes, as the Librarium is a part of the Travectio Infinium, which pervades most dimensions and isn't bound by most space or time laws. However, creating such portals takes considerable time enough for it to be unable to be used in combat. Other characters can follow Beira into these transit portals (OOC agreement is a must) if they so desire. When passing through the Librarium, it feels like walking through very thin liquid, and the traveller feels wet. The Librarium looks to be a massive library totally submerged in water, which strangely doesn’t affect breathing, nor act like water in any way except its feel. In the distance one may seem to perceive ancient majestic ruins or moving indeterminate shapes, and there is always this sensation of mild horror, as well as the feeling that one is being watched. Upon exiting the Librarium, the traveller is wet, but all the water mysteriously disappears within two seconds. - Scholar of the Cosmos: Beira’s exposure to the energies of the Librarium have made her more intelligent than normal, with an exposure to the workings of the universe, allowing her to conserve energy for more potent results. This translates to a 50% reduction to MP costs.
Plot Mechanic: Beira can also learn things at humanly impossible speeds, by making physical contact with someone who knows such a skill, allowing her to use said skill at the same skill level as the person, although strong-willed people (PCs, player-owned NPCs, event NPCs, and other important NPCs) can easily resist the ‘learning’ process (if OOC permission is not obtained). The curious detail about this ability is that the part of Beira’s body which is responsible for the skill she wishes to learn must come in contact with the same part of the person she wishes to learn from. For instance, if Beira wants to learn a fighting style, and she touches a practitioner’s hands, she will only be able to execute the hand motions and punches; she will know nothing of the kicks. Also, unless she frequently uses the skill daily, until it becomes a part of her, Beira will forget the learned skill after 24 hours. - Ability: Unlocked at S-rank

Description: Beira’s body has the arcane powers of the Librarium flowing through every tissue, making her more adaptive to, and therefore less affected by, negative magic. This increases Beira’s magic pool by 50%.

Description: Beira’s connection to a divine plane of knowledge makes her body uncontrollably radiate perfectly undetectable energies that serve as a peculiar sort of sensor, similar in function to the echolocation of a bat. This gives Beira a sixth sense, unaffected by her natural senses, which makes her aware of everything that goes on within the range of her sense, which is that of an AoE spell of her rank. The sensory energy is unhindered by physical barriers, including the ground. Beira can use this ability to uncloak targets hidden by magic, although she can only do this to a single target once per post, it is only effective against cloaking magic of her rank or lower, and she must pay equivalent MP to the spell she is trying to uncloak.

Description:At the maximum speed of its rank, the Flagellum Orci extends or retracts to any length within its maximum range that Beira desires. While, by itself, it does not cause extra damage above that which is normally done by the whip, it is very good for surprising enemies who think themselves out of Beira’s range. It cannot be used to attack multiple enemies.

Description: The Flagellum Orci can entangle or bind a target which any part of it comes in contact with, as well as loose itself from a target, all subject to Beira’s will. This ability even allows the whip to attach itself to surfaces like walls, which have no expected snags for the whip to fasten to, when used against the target. As a result, Beira can use her whip as a grapple, line, or even a rappel. If used against an opponent, it can maintain its grip on the opponent for one post, and cannot grip that particular opponent in the following post.

Description: Around each of Beira’s hands, an inky black mist, and faintly-glowing runes materialize and quickly condense to form a pair of beautiful, ornate chakrams, made of a strange black metal, with glowing orange runes etched into them. Each chakram is about 30 cm in inner diameter, and 37 cm in outer diameter. They are razor sharp along their edges, except for a section which is used for handling.

Description: Beira controls the chakrams telekinetically after throwing them, and can direct them to fly anywhere within the range of this spell, at the maximum speed of this spell. The chakrams must always be in motion else they will fall to the ground. Beira can call them to herself when this happens. It should be noted that the chakrams cannot hurt Beira in any way. Despite their risk of usage, anytime a chakram approaches Beira, the section of the chakram that will come in contact with her transforms into the chakram’s handle, so she can catch it without worrying about losing her fingers.

Description: Beira generates a powerful shockwave on her fist, which she uses to strike a target, dealing burst rank damage, and stunning them for the duration of the spell. Stunned targets suffer a 60% debuff to physical strength. Beira can choose to use this spell to stun, without dealing damage, if she so desires.

Description: Beira stamps, and a wall of black hands, constantly grappling at one another, erupts from a portal in the ground to protect her. The wall can bend to form a dome, offering protection to more than just herself alone, and other walls can appear to protect allies distant from herself, as long as they are within her spell range. If each wall takes the equivalent of a total of three B-rank multiple-target level attacks, it will break and disappear. However, if an enemy comes within a 4 meter range of the wall, the hands thereon will extend and grab them, immobilizing them for one post. Beira cannot summon walls to form a layered defense, by stacking one Vallum Mystici behind another for added protection.

Description: Beira creates an invisible field, in which she can cast very complex, three-dimensional illusions on anyone within the field, including sight and sound alone. The illusions may appear real, but they are merely insubstantial and incapable of causing damage. Everyone within the field will see the same illusion Beira casts, with respect to their position. If, for instance, Beira creates the image of a knight, those in front of him will see him from an anterior view, while those behind the knight will see his back.

Description: Beira’s hands begin to glow with a pale green fire. If she makes contact with an intended target, using any part of her body at all, the target’s head catches fire, burning with pale green fire, and they take single-target rank damage. Also, they are drained for 5% of their HP per post, which Beira can use to heal herself for the same amount of HP drained. If Beira breaks contact with the target, they will still suffer the drain, though she will not heal herself.
Plot Mechanic: This spell allows Beira to also absorb information from her victim as long as she maintains contact. Beira has to have a specific information she desires in mind for this to happen. NOTE: Beira cannot glean information from people with strong souls (PCs and PC-controlled characters and event NPCs), unless all parties involved have an OOC agreement.
Precept 91: Pulsus Mentis [Mind Stroke]

Description: From Beira’s head, a rapidly expanding halo of green-white energy pulses outwards, smashing into targets and throwing them back violently, while damaging them for AOE rank damage, and making havoc of the environment. Interestingly, those considered friends or allies by Beira will not be touched by the spell. Targets are afflicted with a 5% drain to their MP for the duration of the spell.

Description: Beira draws on negative energy from the Librarium, infused with the corrupting energies of Orcus. As a result, shades emerge from portals, each one flying after a target. Each shade looks like a hooded rag mass, with nasty, barbed claws emanating from the rags. If the shade reaches a target, the shade plunges its claws into the target, causing damage, and begins whispering dark and awful secrets to the target, the information weakening their resolve and reducing their resistance to magic by 50%.

Description: Beira calls out a word in a strange, unknown tongue, and a dark mist pervades the area. Anyone within the mist that Beira wishes to harm will suddenly understand the meaning of the word. The terror inflicted on them is great enough to cause their own body systems to rebel against the new information, causing internal rupturing for burst rank damage. The trauma this leaves on the brain is so great that they lose faith in whatever they believe in for a while, suffering a 90% debuff to spell damage. If asked what they heard, victims cannot remember, as their brains forcibly forget, in order to keep functioning. Those who are not strong enough to forget are killed outright (only applies to unnecessary NPCs).

Description: Beira shifts her physical form partially between the material plane and the Librarium Obscuri, allowing her to become almost intangible and ethereal, easily passing through objects made of physical matter. She is still visible, but at will, she can render herself undetectable to normal sensors, and cannot be detected by revealing spells below the spell’s rank. She can control what she physically interacts with, so that she can run, climb and do other physical things, while passing through objects she deems to be obstructing her. Beira cannot pass through a construct made of magic of the same or higher rank of the spell. Note that Beira still takes damage normally, even when in this state. Due to her ethereal nature, she takes 50% less damage from magic attacks.
