It had taken her quite some time to gather up wood for a fire. Things generally took a lot longer with one hand, she had found. Gathering wood, setting it up for a fire, setting the trap for the food she had caught, preparing the ptarmigan for cooking, and finally lighting the fire. The small cloaked woman leaned back now, watching a moment as the flames spread across the tinder. She fed the flames, nurturing them into a warm campfire. Once it was going, she started to cook the bird, the scent of smoke and roasting meat wafting throughout the nearby area. A few flakes of snow were falling from the sky, though having done the math, Almyra wasn't concerned about a storm hitting. It would just be a light dusting.
She looked around as she waited for the bird to cook. The snow covering the trees and ground was quite beautiful, especially as the setting sun shined its red light down on the mountains. She took a deep breath in and held it for a moment. Then, closing her eyes, she slowly let it out, her breath condensing in the air, leaving a fleeting, wispy cloud for a few seconds.
She was all by herself, unsure of where all of her friends had gone. She brought her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and sat there, alone. The smoke and light of her campfire was visible for quite a distance out here in the mountains. Perhaps someone would stop by. That would be nice.
