Tahanina! ♢ Solo

Althea propped up her thick black sunglasses, the other hand keeping her billowing hair out of her face.  The fact she had tied her hair into a ponytail for the job had helped, but nothing was really needed in order to keep her cool in the desert heat.  The wind coming at her were enough, and her magic helped her regulate how much the sun’s rays reached her.  In fact, she only wore a black tank top and jeans, a generic looking dark green and gray letterman jacket worn over that.  The landscape passed by quickly from her place on a moving train, her legs hang off the top nonchalantly.  She sighed as she stared up at sky, appearing to be bleached with the obnoxiously heated sun right on it.  How come she always ended up with the jobs that stuck her in Desierto?  After her current job it would’ve been the third time she’d been to the country, yet places like Seven and Iceberg went unexplored.  She had wished to see the world when she left the mountains, so it was a tad bit disappointing that she had visited the same place so many different times.  But at least one of her endeavors had helped her out this time around.  In the past when she had gotten lost in the desert (as usual), she had defeated these bandits who had hijacked a train so she got a free ride.  But of course she had opted to ride on the roof because the air helped her manage her motion sickness.

But of course, once she arrived to the village there was no need to worry about that, the youth simply leaping off the train’s top, not waiting for it to stop.  No one was actually outside, so Althea just walked into one of the village’s houses in hopes that she would maybe find someone in there.  And she was lucky because she walked right into the building she needed to, who would’ve guessed?  “Ah, you must be the Fiorean meant to help get the water.”  One of the men sitting at the table located in the center of the room said, getting to his feet.  “Welcome, I am the leader of Sama Village.”  “Yep that’s me, I’m Althea!  Nice to meet you, mister.”  The man nodded, offering the youth a sweet smile, “As you can see, we are in dire need of water, rin eludes us and there is no one else in our area to help.”

“Why don’t you just leave then?”  Althea inquired.  The village leader stared at the youth, shocked, “Leave?  What?  This is our home!” Althea stared at the man, not quite understanding, “What about this place makes it your home though?  There’s nothing here.”  The village leader shook his head, standing and moving to a window where he could look over the dunes surrounding the land, the slayer following suit.  “I understand why you don’t understand our love for this place, we wouldn’t understand love for some place with nothing but snow, however,”  The village leader pointed to the horizon, “Look at how the sun hangs in the clear blue sky, and how eternally the dunes ever shift with the incoming winds.”  He said, sounding like he was talking to himself more than to Althea.  The youth removed her sunglasses, taking a good long look at the scenery before grinning, “Sorry I don’t see what you see in it, but I get why you won’t move now!”  She replied, “Thanks.”  She said before turning and heading out of the house.  “Wait!  But what about the water?”  One of the village officials exclaimed, but the blonde simply pointed straight upwards before exiting the building.  “What in the world are you looking at, sir?  We have to come up with a way to provide for our people!”  They exclaimed.  “Rainclouds.”

Althea hadn’t necessarily summoned rain, that wouldn’t have really helped at all with all the ethernano mixed in with it.  Instead she simply triggered it, making anything purely natural as if the land had produced it on its own.  She grinned to herself as she jumped right on top the top of the train, she was such an idiot.
