Your job is to search for clues concerning the camp and stop the sinister activity.

Unlike their normal counterparts, these spirits mean harm to any and all living beings. Often found around the lake, they sometimes appear in camp buildings. If they grab a player, the player feels a sense of numbness as they are dragged towards the lake. If they cannot break free or if teammates cannot help them, they are thrown into the camp's lake. If the mage can swim, they can easily get out of trouble, though the ghosts are usually waiting for them on the shore. If they cannot swim, then it is best to hope that teammates can rescue them.

Enemy Name: Kayson Warheez
Enemy Description: The man, the myth, the legend. He may be shrouded in myth, but his machete is very real. Standing 6' 4" tall and weighing 300 lbs., Kayson wears a navy blue jumpsuit with brown shoes and a distinctive white hockey mask that hides his facial features and eye color. He wields his bloodstained machete with authority and can move surprisingly fast for his height and bulk. He is also surprisingly tough, so be ready for a fight!
Enemy Rank: Boss
Enemy HP: 1,000 HP
Enemy MP: 500 MP
Enemy Melee Damage: 75 HP per cut with his machete, 75 HP per punch or kick, 150 HP per stab with his machete. These numbers double if Kayson is enraged.
Enemy Spell Damage: 160 HP to any player hit by Tangible Fury.
Enemy Speed: B-Rank Speed. 1.5x B-Rank Speed if enraged.
Notes about Camp Azure Lake:
The camp has four journals scattered in its buildings. Players are encouraged to find them all to learn what happened in the camp when it was still operational. The contents are up to players, but they must pertain to camp life, such as camp activities and someone named Stanley W., who is deeply afraid of water and refuses to take part in water sports.
Players are free to make details, such as the general condition of the camp, crime scene evidence (bloodstains, bodies, etc.), and more.
Players are free to make details about Stanley W., such as appearance and mannerisms. Stanley's mannerisms are recommended to be innocent but somewhat annoying (ex. stuttering, bedwetting, etc.). The only constant is that Stanley must be afraid of water.
It is recommended to have a 50/50 mix of spectral counselor genders, but as long as there is not a lean to one side (ex. all-male or all-female), players can make up their own ratios.
Notes about Kayson:
Pleading or taunting does not work on him.
He does not say very much, so do not expect an explanation of his motive.
If enraged, Kayson's eyes glow red, then his entire body does. He does double damage and can move at 1.5x his normal speed. He also takes only half damage from physical weapons and 75% damage from spells. He can enter the state once every five posts. He also enters it once he is down to 200 HP, ensuring that he has one last chance to try and take someone with him.
His enraged state is called Avenger's Wrath. For some odd reason, it cannot be taken away by player debuffs. It can only be endured. Before he enters it, he simply says "... Vengeance."
Kayson's only spell is called Tangible Fury. It is applied to his machete, which almost doubles in length and glows blood red. If it hits, it deals 160 HP in damage to the target and heals him for 80 HP. He can use it once every four posts. He uses 100 MP per casting.- An Alternate Resolution::
- If players search the camp thoroughly, they will come across a hidden basement. There they will find a red baseball cap and a "bonus" journal. Reading the contents reveals that some of the camp counselors, fed up with a young camper named Stanley W., dragged him from his cabin and threw him into the camp's lake, fully aware of the fact that the youth could not swim. Stanley drowned and the counselors covered the incident up, claiming that Stanley wandered off during a camping trip in the woods. If players have all three of the previous journals, then they will deduce that "Stanley W." is Stanley Warheez, Kayson's son.
If players take the cap and present it to Kayson without offering violence to him or destroying it, he thanks the players and gives them his mask, takes the cap into his hand and walks towards the lake. There he is met by the ghost of Stanley, who welcomes his father. Kayson then walks into the lake, never to be seen again. The job can be finished without any further combat.
If players destroy the hat in front of Kayson, then he immediately enters an enraged state and combat begins. There is no peaceful resolution from this point onward. Kayson must be killed to end the job.
Reward: A-Ranked EXP and 60K Jewels with an extra 2K Jewel bonus for each journal recovered (up to five journals) and submitted as evidence to town officials. Also, players will be hailed as heroes of Clover Town.

"Character counts most when duty calls." Serilda slept well that night. Xiuhcoatl snuggled against her the whole night through, and when she woke up in the morning there was a little bit of bounce to the woman’s step. She woke up a bit earlier than she intended to actually rouse Mythal. There was something she still needed to do, something she normally would have done sooner but didn’t feel right leaving Mythal to do, nor making him uncomfortable by inviting him along. She brushed her teeth and hair, changing into a clean set of clothes for the day. Then, she went out to the balcony with Xiuh in her arms and floated them down onto the grass. Xiuh was dismissed to wander the grounds and do her morning business while Serilda made her way to the family graveyard. She walked quietly through the various tombstones and markers until she reached the one that read “Hugo Sinclair”. The last few times Serilda had visited her late husband’s grave had been deeply emotional affairs. It was still deeply emotional today, but for different reasons. Her heart still ached for the loss and always would, but she was finally picking herself up and moving on. The woman would stand by the marker for a solid twenty minutes or so, talking quietly to the spirit of her deceased husband and telling him how her life had been going since the last time she’d visited. She knew he couldn’t hear her, but it made her feel better. It was almost a form of therapy for her, really. By the time she was done, Xiuh had found her and was begging for affection, and for food. Serilda chuckled and knelt down to hug the wolf. “Alright. Let’s go get your little brother and find you something to eat.” The two of them made their way back to the house, and Serilda picked up the wolf again to float back inside. But this time, instead of returning to her own room she went to Mythal’s. She phased them both through the door before setting Xiuh down and walking over to the bed where Mythal was still sleeping. Serilda had to bite back a laugh. Gren had shifted his position during the night, and was now nestled up against the slayer with his tiny little body, sprawled on his back with his paws fully stretched out in all directions. It was truly one of the most adorable things she’d ever seen, and she took the time while she had it to snap a quick photo with her iLac. Carefully, Serilda sat down on the edge of the bed next to Mythal, on the opposite side of where Gren was laying so she wouldn’t disturb the little guy. She propped her torso up with an elbow so she could lean over the man. Her nails gently traced lines through his hair to coax him awake. “Good morning,” she’d tell him softly when he roused enough to be conscious. Kissing him softly on the forehead, Serilda continued to draw her fingers along his scalp, or his neck and shoulder. “How did you sleep?” Words: 527/7000 |
