On the edge of Oaktown is a certain spot that has become just a brown dirtfield in the midst of a beautiful flower field. Why? Because it has been some time since two rivals who are studying magic have made this spot their place for their daily competitions. It will take a long time for the flwers to reeturn in this spot, but their growth is not the concern of most people. The concern and problem here is the two rivals who are having fight after fight.
The people in the houses just next to the flower field are complaining for one about the noise the two are making. Next there is also the danger of magic misfiring and hitting a house or destroying more then just some flowers. And lastly we have the Problem of the children being scared and not able to play safely outside anymore. The two are not doing this to hurt anyone, they're just really deep into their rivalry and want to settle the age old question of what is better - fire or ice. They picked the rivalry up from their masters and are now out and about causing problems for others by being careless. And this is where our resident swordless swordsman comes in.
The people who have to deal with those two mages can't put up with them anymore and requested help from mages, writing out a request on the local request table in town. Blanc who was in Oak Town to study about magic and learn all kinds of different tips and tricks, had taken the request and was headed over to said fighting spot to tell the townsfolk that he'd accept their request and end the stupid dispute. Seriously, fire vs ice? Who thought such a cliché would await him in a city who was known for its diverse and broad magical knowledge and research material. Not to say that one could not pin down a magic by strong or weak just by putting them head on against each other. Even fire an ice had different uses and strengths aswell as weaknesses, so what he had to get into their heads was that they were both wasting their time and should instead work together, maybe then they could find something worth speding time on.
From talking to the people though, it seemed they just wanted the two rivals to be removed from here entirely no matter what methods would have to be used - excluding killing and mortaly wounding. It even seemed they specifically wanted the poor two guys removed by force, what a drag, why was it always fighting he got into with the jobs he took? The pay was atleast worth it, he thought and sat down a on a fence infront of the flower field and watched the two guys fight with their ice and fire magic. His goal was to let them weaken each other a little so he had it easier...
