What a shitstorm.
Artemis had enjoyed minding his own for the longest time, enjoying the free life of a guild member and bachelor. Doing jobs during the day and partying at night. He had managed to build up a decent amount of his own money; he had his own apartment. Life was great, or at least it had been. But thus it seemed all good things have to come to an end, and what he had hoped would last much longer than it had, came to a crashing cease. His position in Black Rose was no more, once again a guildless mage, with an unfortunate amount of explaining to do.
Black Rose had seemed to be doing fine, and then a significant number of members vanished, in the blink of an eye, the guild master, the aces and many others. No one knew where they were or what happened to them. The mystery was ominous and had left the guild in a dire state. It's remaining members had fought over who would take over and how to proceed. In the midst of that argument, Artemis had found out some displeasing information. There weren't manner matters that Artemis agreed with his family on, but actively working against the Magic Council was not something Artemis could sit by and agree with. Its premise was foolish, in their weakened state the guild would be crushed in the blink of an eye. However, Artemis's rebellious attitude had not gone down well. Thus resulting in a fight with the entire remaining members of the guild. It had been ruthless bloody, and with the assistance of a curious individual, they had left the guild in ruins. It had indeed been an act of self-preservation, although he knew full well Morte had let it get out of control somewhat. Somehow the act had been covered up, reported to the public as 'enemies of the guild' seeking revenge. Artemis had a feeling his family had sent in some experts to remove any evidence of Artemis's position in the guild. They were good at making records disappear like that. Also knowing his father, it would likely be leaked to the Magic Council that Black Rose was targetting them, ruining their stance with the council and drawing attention away from those who had destroyed the guild and attacked its members. Artemis had been around long enough to know full well the true nature in which his family handled such matters.
So here he was, heading to the Crocus branch of the Dagger Corporation, summoned there for a meeting with his father. He knew full well he was going to get grilled on the matter, perhaps even discipline. His family had been happy with his role in Silver Wolf, but Black Rose had turned out to be a foolish mistake. It would definitely be brought up; two guilds, he had joined, only to leave one and assist in the destruction of the other. He was wearing a black shirt and dark jeans. His shoes were leather brogues, and his hair was swept back with a little gel. He wasn't sure what to expect, but wearing a suit had seemed like overkill. Still turning up to Dagger Corp in trainers and a hoodie seemed nothing short of crazy. At least this way he was casual formal.
He made his way through the revolving front door, heading straight past the reception, he nodded at the receptionist. Her eyes lit up at the sight of him; he wondered briefly if he had seduced her already or not? Probably. But that was irrelevant right now. He stepped into the elevator and hit the ninth floor. The Elevator began to rise, and Artemis took a steady breath, he was at least half an hour early. But knowing his father, being late was nothing short of an insult. The last thing he needed was to add fuel to the already blazing fire.
