Job Description:
There is a flyer that catches your eye as you go about your daily business. Knowing how you felt a little bored, you were compelled with the words 'EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF EARTHLAND!' written in big red letters.
The flyer's from a prominent travel agency in Rose Garden, one that's celebrating its centennial anniversary, and it goes as so:
"Ever wondered of what lied beyond the border of Fiore? You must've dreamt of exploring all those new horizons at least once, haven't you? If you're passport seems neglected, why not stop by and get your tickets to three of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Earthland? From the beautiful rainforests in Joya, to the wondrous temples in Midi and to the breathtaking views of Seven even from the borders, you can visit all of them and more!
Not only will you get to experience the mysteries and beauties of foreign lands, but you'll also get to join the various festivities in the three nations because if you didn't know, it's the season to rejoice! There will be various festivals you can participate in and thanks to our connections, you will be very much welcome to enjoy yourself. Depending on the time you come to contact us, you will get to experience different festivals. You won't worry about time constraint as we will make sure to fix your schedule to accommodate as much festivities and as much fun as we possibly can, because your happiness is what matters most here at Rozette Travels!
To you who is reading this flyer, better turn it in! You're one of the very few who managed to stumble upon this special, one time promo for our centennial anniversary! It's your (and a friend's) ticket to an ALL-EXPENSES PAID trip to the most beautiful places in Earthland (minus Fiore, of course!)
So what're you waiting for?! Come and EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF EARTHLAND!"
Upon approval, you're given a special pendant that glows with the silver of a special Lacrima. It'll allow you to speak and understand the native language of these nations.
Enemies: Your monster rolls will determine which festivals you'll participate in as you go through the different nations. You can only roll once for your festival. If you are lucky (or unlucky) enough to get a festival with mobs, then roll accordingly.- MIDI:
- Weak/Normal:
Hanami: The Cherry Blossom Blooming Festival
There exists a special species of cherry blossom that only thrives in Midi. They call these trees Sakura, and the reason as to why their so special is that they can't reach their full bloom unless they take in air that is infused with ethernano, the source of all magic. In this festival, you get to join all kinds of wizards from the different parts of Midi and even from various other nations like Fiore and Ministrel as you eat and drink and dance underneath the special blossoms. Just simply gathering a large number of magic users allows the air to be concentrated with ethernano, and while you're there, the Sakura trees will remain in full bloom, their petals almost glowing in a faint pink light.
This festival will last for three days, and you'll get to eat different delicacies and drink special sakura wine. Of course, there will be various dancing courtesans to entertain you in your stay. Make sure to say hi to the Emperor!
Strong/Boss:
Bushido Sensou: A Festival Full of Sword fights and Samurai
In Midi, the idea of Bushido is upheld and well respected. It not only acts as the driving force for various Midi citizens, but also as the entire foundation of the nation itself. Every month, they hold a tournament to commemorate this way of life and to also see who's the best of the best among their warriors. Upon rare occasions, they invite outsiders such as wizards to act as their final adversary for their brave samurai.
You've been chosen to act as the final boss for the Bushido Sensou thanks to the connections of Rozette Travels. You'll eventually fight the strongest warriors who manage to trample the other competing samurais.
Roll for your enemy. Roll once. Though I've used the pronouns he, feel free to decide the gender of your opponent, their appearance, their name and their attacks. Make it a battle that'll amaze the emperor!- Weak: You face a samurai whose sword deals C-rank damage. Apparently he's not too in-tune with the times and does not have magic whatsoever, though he's a bit sturdy considering the way his body is built. He goes down in fifteen hits of C-rank damage. Use tricks to outsmart him, and he might just go down easier.
- Normal: You encounter a samurai whose sword deals B-rank damage. His sword is imbued with a flame-type magic that makes his cuts deal an extra burn damage that deals C-rank wounds if left untreated. He goes down in five hits of B-rank damage. If you're using an ice-type or water-type kind of magic, he could go down a lot faster.
- Strong: A samurai approaches you with an expression that seems to be hardened from battle. He uses a body-enhancing buff that halves all the damage he takes from physical attacks. You're a wizard, and you should be fine so long as you use something other than physical. Throw some elements and he goes down in eight hits of B-ranked damage.
- Boss: Something doesn't feel right. The warrior before you is a wizard, for sure, and he doesn't seem to be playing around. He wields a legendary artifact in the form a pendant that he named the River's Storm. Because of this, he uses some type of water magic and can also heal himself 50 HP from time to time. Careful now, he's clever and fast. He'll go down in three hits of A-rank damage.
*Note: When you're with other players, all three of you can still participate so long as only one of you rolls for your enemy. - Weak: You face a samurai whose sword deals C-rank damage. Apparently he's not too in-tune with the times and does not have magic whatsoever, though he's a bit sturdy considering the way his body is built. He goes down in fifteen hits of C-rank damage. Use tricks to outsmart him, and he might just go down easier.
- SEVEN:
Weak/Normal:
Gealach Ghorm: The Harvest Under the Blue Moon
Ever so often, the Sevenwood is illuminated with a beautiful pale blue glow of a rare Blue Moon. To the people of Seven, this means that their Queen is a year older, and that all their harvests will soon be blessed with abundance. All political and daily business is halted to celebrate a grand harvest and to commemorate the birth of their Queen. You are invited to join the festival along with many other wizards from Seven. There aren't many other wizards from Fiore or other neighboring nations because this is a national affair. But because of the Rozette Travel's connections, you somehow manage yourself through to enjoy the beauty of the Blue Moon, as a special guest of the Queen's Court, nonetheless!
Here, you can drink and party to your heart's content. The First Day always starts with a merry moon-viewing, ceremonies with the songs of the people of Seven will resonate through out the night. The next two days will all be merriment that you can imagine to your bidding. Get creative! Make sure to make the Queen's Birthday a remarkable one!
Strong/Boss:
Rás Foraoise: The Annual Sevenwood Magical Forest Race
The winter has passed and spring has rolled along. It seems summer is just around the corner. And what better way to start the season with a little fiery competition? Here in Seven, Summer is always met with a Forest Race that travels around Sevenwood's complex tree arrangements and architecture. Elite wizards are invited from every part of Seven to join, not just for rewards, but for the enjoyment of meeting summer with the rush of a race.
Your objective is to race around the forest, finishing where you've started, at the center of Sevenwood. There will be several gold markers that you will follow to remain on track, don't lose sight of them or you'll end up lost in Sevenwood.
Of course, this is no ordinary race. Instead of racing on your own two feet, you will be riding special air-borne creatures that are native to Seven. These creatures react to ethernano and this can enhance their flying speed greatly. This makes the race only open to wizards. You can't knock off other opponents, since you're hands are stuck on your creature's leashes that feed on your magic power. The more your creature gets, the faster it becomes. All creatures are decided by draw lots, so there won't be any bias. Just pure ability to connect with the beast in Seven. The race is at least fifteen posts long, and riddled in obstacles such as trees and narrow spaces, so be careful.
Your creature's maximum ethernano in-take will depend on your monster roll. Roll once. You feed these monsters magic points (e.g. 75 MP) to make it fly faster. As a rule of thumb, all these creatures have the same speed of your average cheetah. Just add another one-half of a cheetah every time you feed one B-rank to it. Remember to be a good sport, and don't overfeed your creature, they'll get a little crazy and might fly you off into oblivion. You can't fly above the canopy, okay?- Weak: It seems you got yourself a species of dragonfly that makes it home in the northern part of Sevenwood. It's very friendly and essentially, an oversized bug whose golden wings are probably 5 times your size. If you have a fear of bugs, riding it might become hard for you. It's maximum ethernano intake makes up to 5 B-ranks of magic. Once it gets enough, it'll reset after 1 post. Don't worry about falling off, this docile creature cares for its driver and will make sure you get a safe flight.
- Normal: You seemed to have garnered the interest of a special kind of phoenix native to Seven, it's fire is blue and warm, it doesn't burn you nor does it seem unsafe to inhale. Though a little shy, the phoenix seems to willing to open up to its driver so long as it sees its driver's compassion. It'll take you up on it's wide back while it soars over the forest. It can take up to 10 B-ranks of magic power and can take up more after 2 posts after you reach its limit. A minor caution around curves, your phoenix might end up stuck in vines or get caught up in tight spaces if you don't maneuver it right. Careful!
- Strong: You must be dreaming, but is that Pegasus? As you near it, the creature flaunts its impressive wings that shimmer in a glorious golden shine. It blinds you a little, but nevertheless, you are amazed. But the creature isn't too friendly and seems a little haughty as you try to ride it. It'll try to fix your posture as you ride or comment on your appearance and will find something to complain about with the knowledge that it's too beautiful to participate in a mediocre race like this. It won't shut up unless you feed it ethernano. It'll take up to 15 B-ranks worth of magic and will stop talking every time you feed it, it can feed again after 4 posts once you hit max. It flies perfectly and there's no danger of falling off this majestic beast unless you feed it, your only real problem is its attitude that will ANNOY you and its habit of stopping at every body of water to admire its reflection. Show it who's boss, and of course, show it who's prettier!
- Boss: From the shadows comes a brown Griffin, towering above you, with a blood-shot stare that isn't too inviting. Many seem to be wishing you too much good lucks, as if they fear for your life as you try to climb the Griffin. You find out why when it tries to kick you off when you sit on the saddle. Hang on tight. Show it your not in any way afraid or intimidated. Stay brave across the entire race because it WILL try to drop you and it will always favor the more dangerous paths across the forest. It can take up to 20 B-ranks and can be fed again after 5 posts. Please don't let go of your leash, otherwise, not only will you be out of the race, you might as well be out of life as well, because this Griffin hasn't any care in the world for your safety. Establish your relationship by showing your bravery and morals and it might just be a bit more gentle with you.
*Note: In this race, you can feed your creature all at once in one post, just remember your cool down. To make this easier to visualize as a race, imagine your creature as a bowl you can fill with water. It will slowly empty 5 B-ranks every post in the race and you'll deduct the total one-half cheetahs, meaning your creature will get slower overtime. You can only refill the bowl after the given post count.
*Another note: Your job partners will serve as your opponents. The order of drawing is tied to your post arrangement. Don't worry if you get the same roll as another. The monsters who don't have drivers will be driven by your choice of NPCs. Make the race fair and don't god mode it. It's not a smooth ride unless you have the dragonfly. This rule also applies to the soloers.- Weak: It seems you got yourself a species of dragonfly that makes it home in the northern part of Sevenwood.
- JOYA:
Weak/Normal:
The Spring Goddess Festival
The people in Joya love to throw parties with good food and good wine. But don't forget that they too, can throw in a festival every now and then that is open to outsiders to join in just for sheer merriment. One fairly popular festivity of theirs is The Spring Goddess Festival, where they come to greet the season with a celebration dedicated to their various deities associated with spring, flowers, and fertility. The tribes set aside their differences and gather into one big group of people who've come to enjoy the season.
Their main event, dubiously titled the Goddess Dance, is entitled for a pair to dance the night away under the light of a great bonfire. There will be music and tambourines and frilly skirts and lively dances and flowers, and to your surprise, thanks to the travel agency, bachelors and/or bachelorettes from various Joya tribes have agreed to become your dance partner for that one special evening. Consider it a date. Your Joyan partner is entirely up to you and it isn't restricted to gender, because these people are quite open to try anything, be it dancing with the same gender. Though this is a lively dance, you are allowed to create the dance moves. Just don't make it seem like your Joyan knows waltz or tango, and make it realistic.
The festival starts at night and ends in the morning. You'll be eating and mingling with the people, but be wary of the prying eyes of the natives, they're quite friendly when it comes to outsiders and might try to make a move on you if you show motive. Otherwise, enjoy yourselves! This festival is only one day, though, so don't get too carried away.
Strong/Boss:
The Great Wyld Hunt
Winter is harsh on the tribes, and its the native's elders and leaders who orchestrate a hunting group to bring back rations of meat to last them the winter ahead. The cold season is quickly approaching and the people of Joya invite the strongest of their people, in fact, they're so desperate to bring in a big haul that they're willing to gather outsiders to be part of their Great Wyld Hunt. Though technically not a festival in terms, in its essentially a celebration considering what awaits at the end of the hunt -the promise of a reward for the group that brings in the bigger number of catch.
The participants are to be split into four groups. And one will each have a tribal warrior coming from one distinct tribe. You and your partners cannot be in the same group. Worry little because you are going with 5 of their bravest and strongest wizards, at least two of them are wizards like you. Together, you will brave the wilderness of their lands to hunt for game for the coming winter. Remember that the hunting group is composed of people coming from the same tribe, so try to learn to cooperate with them and keep away from the advances that they may make on you.
The Joyan people are fierce when it comes to the hunt, so they take this tournament seriously. Show them what you're capable off and you might just gain the favor of their tribal leader. In a way, the more you hunt, the more you're helping that particular tribe gain more food rations. The contest part of everything is only something to keep the hunt going as not a chore, but a grand display of their hunting prowess.
Roll for your enemies. Treat this as your regular roll and kill job and each player can roll up to twenty times (and this is also your maximum no. of rolls). It's still a contest, so whoever brings in the better number (and roll) wins. Feel free to shape your environment accordingly.- Weak: Gazelle x10 - The classic gazelle that go about the grasslands in herds. They're very fast and rely on their numbers to avoid predators. They're best taken out in their groups as loud sounds could surprise them. Do it precisely and concisely, they run quickly so close range might not be effective. Push all your long range attacks and don't startle them too much, otherwise you'll have trouble chasing after them. They won't do damage to you, but they're pretty jumpy and they could escape quickly. Roll an attack die and if it hits, then you've killed them. If not, the pack of gazelle run and you have to chase them. They go down in one C-rank, preferably AOE.
- Normal: Wild Boar x15 - These hairy pigs are a traditional favorite of any tribe. They're fairly easy to catch and have great storage capability. They're quite quick on their feet, so you're better off trapping them rather than chasing them. They go down in 1 hit of B-rank damage. They may tackle you with their horns and that could deal you B-rank damage if you get hit. Don't get on their bad side and snare them as soon as you them.
- Strong: Water Buffalo x20 - The water buffalos may appear docile, but they're quite a force to reckon with if they've gathered in a group. When they sense a predator, they'll generate a stampede with the herd and it might just deal you A-rank damage if you get stuck in it. Avoid the prospect of a stampede and attack the group in an AOE and you're good to go. They go down in five hits of B-rank damage.
- Boss: If you roll a boss, consider this as a strong monster x2.
*Note: You and your job partners are on separate teams, so each one will have to make rolls for their individual teams. You have five Joyan hunters with you, two are wizards and three are not. The non-wizards deal C-rank damage and the wizards deal B-rank damage. Your partners take up to 10 hits of B-rank damage before going down. Take care that no one gets killed and have fun hunting.
*Another note: Magics with range abilities have a greater advantage over magics that have short ranges.- Weak: Gazelle x10 - The classic gazelle that go about the grasslands in herds.
- Spoiler:
- Midi: If you complete Bushido Sensou:
- The emperor will give you 10k jewels for showing just how formidable wizards are and will also include your name in his hall of great warriors.
- One of your enemies, whether or not you've faced said person, will give you the jewel in his/her pendant, The River's Storm. The jewel is a sea blue treasure that he/she thinks is better suited for you. Its name, as you've been told, is The Serpent's Eye, and makes all your and two other allies' attacks 3x more effective in water battles and will allow you and your allies to walk on water for 10 posts, (effect usable once per thread). The item will not work in PVP. You'll be needing this to ease your way through another Midi-centered job: The Storm Looms
Seven: If you complete Rás Foraoise:- You will have a personal audience with the Queen and she'll personally hand you 10k jewels and the chance to converse with her in private.
- The Griffin, whether or not you've rode it in the race, seems to have taken interest in you because of your sportsmanship and how you handled the race in general. It voluntary approaches you and hands you one of its feathers. Upon closer inspection, the feather has an uncanny golden sheen to it. The Griffin Feather is a unique item that will allow you and two other allies the ability to fly for the next 10 posts and will make you and two allies' attacks 3x more effective in aerial battles (effect is usable once per thread). Hang it on a pendant or tie it to your hat and you're good to go. The item will not work in PVP. You will be needing this to ease your way through another Seven-centered job: The Beast Cries
Joya: If you complete the Great Wyld Hunt:- The tribal leader of your group will award you with 10k jewels and your name going down in their stories as a great hunter, making you a legend amongst the coming generations.
- The Joyan Tribal Warrior that you were grouped with has seen your might and bravery, he/she is impressed and thinks you are worthy of being gifted a special tribal treasure: The Grand Rainmaker, a hunting horn specially imbued with magic that when blown, can generate a cleansing rain that can heal you and several allies for 7.5% of your total HP so long as it keeps raining. The rain generated will last for 5 posts and can be used twice per thread. The horn cannot be used in PVP. You will need this to ease your way through another Joya-centered job: The Poison Lingers
Complete at least one of these and you also gain +1 Legendary Magic Item as a prize from Rozette Travels for taking up their offer and participating in these tournaments.
*NOTE: You can only choose to keep one of the unique items. Even if you somehow completed all three hard festivals, you can only choose one. Choose wisely. - The emperor will give you 10k jewels for showing just how formidable wizards are and will also include your name in his hall of great warriors.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
Nessa was pretty excited for the day, for one she had taking a job that was pretty exciting. Although it wasn't really much of a job and more of a vacation, but she would have to do a little bit of work. She had been signed up to mentee another member of Fairy Tail, a guy she hadn't met yet. It was pretty thrilling knowing she would get the chance to warmly welcome another individual and help them become a part of the guild. Maybe they could even become good friends.
It was a little odd going on a trip with a guy she didn't even know, but she guessed it would be fine. She may have only been nineteen, but since joining the guild, she had matured significantly. In the several months since getting her guild mark, she had seen many unbelievable things and undergone a rollercoaster of adventures. Some good, some bad, but all memorable. Maybe she could help her new mentee have some enjoyable experiences too, help them truly gage the whole mage thing like Fairy Tail had done for her.
Nessa arrived in Midi in the mid-morning, the sun beating down on her, she stepped off the boat. Taking a deep breath, she let out a happy sigh. Midi was supposed to be a beautiful place; she was excited to explore it. She could see the cherry blossom trees that littered the island. It kind of reminded her of when she went to visit Myazhe, a province belonging to Sol Terumi of the West Fiore Trading Company. Such a beautiful place, but a vast difference to the culture she had grown up around. But first, she needed to track down her guildmate and introduce herself. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to wait too long; she was keen to meet him.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
Midi. If there was anywhere in the world beyond dark corners that felt like home, it was going to be here. It wasn't the people; Mythal didn't like any kind of person and the Midi people were just different ones from a different country. But then again, he had spent nearly a decade with Midi monks and he didn't really hate them, did he? No, they understood the travesty of the world too -- plus they all spoke so little.
But more to the point, this was where his own education had come from. There was something oddly sentimental about coming to the source of his former master's teachings. Knowing this was one of the lands he was getting to visit had convinced him enough to agree to the job, even if it came with stipulations. Apparently he was gaining a... mentor. Yet another teacher that was meant to help him ease into the life of Fairy Tail and better understand his own magic. He had expected it to be Markus; they shared similar magic so it seemed like the reasonable conclusion. But no, it was another Fairy Tail wizard -- someone named Nessa.
Fantastic. Take the good with the... not so good. At least he was able to travel by himself and he decided to test out his new magical ring. The odd trinket apparently was blessed with sky magic and, whoever wore it, was capable of sailing through the air. To escape Rodger's Tower, he had utilized the ring as best he could, though he did crash into a wall or two. He figured the more exposure to its use, the better he would get with it...
That didn't stop him from dropping into the water right before he got to the port. As Nessa was coming off the boat, Mythal was sitting at the end of the pier, his top clung between his hands. He hated not being clothed around people but he needed to attempt to dry out his topHe'd already heard a few girls giggling, either at his foolishness or his bare chest and back out for all to see.
He was wringing his shirt and jacket out, the water pouring into the ocean below. He then unfurled it and shook it out, scowling. He finished as best he could and then flung the clothing over his shoulder, so his body heat and the air would finish the job. "Just great..."

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
Nessa looked down at her white dressed, checking for her clothes for smudges or marks. She was dressed in her usual sort of attire: a white and violet dress, a white satchel at her side and plimsole. Around her neck hung a sparkling blue gem, a magical item she'd received from a job brutal job she'd done a long time ago with Rina. Unseen to the eye, under her dress she wore a white corset, another item she'd earned during her time in Fairy Tail. She didn't know if she needed these little magical boosts, they were supposed to be travelling and enjoy themselves. But still, it was better to be safe than sorry. A man stepped off of the boat, dragging along a violet polka dot suitcase. "You forgot your luggage Miss," he told her, panting as he dragged her overstuffed luggage along. She gasped, running over, she took it off of him. "Sorry about that, thank you for bringing it out." She said, reaching into her satchel, she pulled out a pouch filled with jewels. "Here, for your troubles." She said with a warm smile, before turning away.
As she turned, she looked around, deciding it was best to stop wasting time. She looked at everyone on the pier, trying to spot any Fairy Tail guild marks. She heard some girls stroll past, snickering amongst themselves about a hottie at the end of the pier. Raising her brow, she glanced over, spotted the guy they were talking about. That's gotta be him, She thought with a smile, dragging her case along she made her way over. Surely enough the closer she got, she noticed the black guild mark emblazoned on his right bicep. "Hey there!" She called out to him, he was older than he suspected, she thought she would be mentoring someone her age or younger. But this guy had to be in his thirties, he had black hair, ruby red eyes and wasn't wearing his shirt for some reason. She decided to ignore that fact, it was warm afterall. "You must be my mentee, I'm Nessa, nice to meet you!" She said offering him a wave. She wasn't actually sure what the protocol was for introducing yourself to a mentee, with Arcadia it was easy cause they were already friends. But this guy was still a stranger. "Shall we head into town? You can tell me all about yourself on the way there," She suggested, not even considering whether or not this guy wanted to or not.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]

It was probably too much to ask that his mentor be anything like himself. Mostly because not everyone was as standoffish and antisocial as he was. Honestly, he needed to be prepared for the possibility that he was getting the exact opposite. After all, it made sense; stick people together on opposite poles of the spectrum to expand their bubbles. He had to understand that, despite that he had been made a full member without an internship, he was still the new guy. He couldn't expect the guild to cater to all his needs -- they had far more important things to focus on.
A chipper, female voice broke the monotony of passing faces, calling out in greeting. He just knew it was meant for him and, mentally steeling himself, he turned to face her. The first thing he noticed was how young she was; she had to be close to half his age by the look of it, with brilliantly snowy hair that caught the light enough to almost glow. She also seemed to be dressed to kill, putting on a clean dress for their job together. And here he was, half-naked like some kind of older deviant. He didn't often get embarrassed by his meager means but he felt all levels of awkward with his current predicament. She even had baggage; a suitcase was clutched and dragged behind her as she walked up and greeted him.
"I fell,” were the first words that came out of his mouth. It took him a beat to realize that both didn't explain anything and wasn't a reply back to her greeting.
"In the water. I fell in the water and my clothes got wet so I was drying them out. Or trying to. I'm not the kind of guy that… I mean I don't usually… I'm Mythal,” he stumbled over his words, trying to conveniently explain his shirtless look and introduce himself all at the same time. His arms were already moving, pulling his shirt and jacket from his shoulder and shaking them out. He pulled his shirt over his head and fixed it onto his body, feeling almost instantly better. At least he wasn't talking to a woman half his age while being half-naked. Last thing he needed was people staring at the pervert making moves on a young lady.
While she looked clean and presentable, Mythal looked very much like a traveler. His clothes, while certainly washed now, were worn and tattered, shows signs of age and prior battles. The only extraneous part of him was the leather knapsack that he threw over his shoulder and it wasn't even originally his. To anyone walking by, they seemed as different as day and night.
"Sure, I can… do that,” he agreed, a bit awkwardly. Most people demanded answers about his past but Fairy Tail was the first group of people that seemed genuinely interested in him. Or maybe he was so jaded that he simply too previous questions as reaching and imposing. Problem was he had so much he preferred to keep hidden, he didn't know where to start. As they walked towards the town, he struggled to find a breaching point. So why not ask instead? "What uh… what do you wanna know?”

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
The first words to come out of the guy's mouth took Nessa by surprise, not so much of a greeting but an explanation for why he wasn't fully dressed. She listened as he went on to explain that he had fallen in the water and that his name was Mythal. She laughed, shaking her head in amusement. Sure it was a little awkward of a first meeting, but not really something she was about to judge him for. She watched as he quickly dressed himself, "Here," She reached out, allowing her magic to flow to her fingers, she tapped him lightly on the shoulder. Her hand began to glow with Starlight and her transferred slowly spread over him. Not in a dangerous way, it was a healing spell of sorts, with the combined benefit of being warm, adding the effect of drying him all over. She pulled away; the light would fade moments later. "Hopefully that's a bit better, just a touch of my magic. I use Starlight, and my magic runs pretty warm at times. Makes a great tool for drying yourself. Although I think so of the ladies I passed on the way over and gonna be pretty disappointed now." She said with a teasing grin, before heading back towards the dock.
She noticed he was a little on the quieter side, not rude per se, just not as chatty as herself. But that was fine, and not everyone has had the ability to natter like her. Plus there was the possibility he was a potentially a bit shy, although he didn't look like the type, you just couldn't assume these days. He asked what she wanted to know; she paused for a moment in thought. She didn't want to pry too much, not everyone like revealing all their secrets straight away. It was probably best to still too practical knowledge and ease into more as time went on. "Well I take it you've probably had the whole, 'why did you wanna join Fairy Tail stuff' when you were initiated into the Guild. So I guess I'll ask, what kind of magic do you use?" She queried with a smile. Figuring it would be important for her to get an understand of how it worked, that is if they were going to be working together in the future. Although she may not get to see his magic much whilst on this trip, exploring Earthland and enjoying different cultures didn't really give you a chance you show off what you could do. But at least it would give them a chance to bond, hopefully, after this, they could go on a few more dangerous tasks. "Also if you have any questions about me or this whole mentorship thing then feel free, I've only mentored one other person, which is Arcadia but I think I got it down for the most part."
They walked further into Midi, moving further into town. Nessa realised there seemed to be a Festival going on. Oh how lovely, She thought, having recently taken part in the Fairy Festival. It would be nice to see something including a different culture. She glanced around trying to get a better looked as to what kind of Festival it was.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
This was a great way to make a good first impression to his mentor. Despite his feelings of not really wanting or needing one, she was still a member of Fairy Tail and he wanted to show her the due respect she deserved, being a comrade. So first meeting her with his shirt off, like some kind of pervert, was beyond shameful. Yet she took it in stride, laughing a bit at his social ineptitude which… was nothing new. Most people either went with it or at least let out a giggle. But he didn’t get the sense she was judging him; maybe she was just as entertained with the lunacy of their job.
She spoke up, offering something. He felt the rise in magic in the air, like the atmosphere around them had lit a small, flickering spark. She reached out to touch him, a move that he generally would shy away from without hesitation. He didn’t like talking to people and he certainly didn’t like them touching him. But for the sake of their budding mentorship and understanding she probably wasn’t going to like… stroke his shoulder, he simply watched her as she tapped him on the shoulder. Instantly he felt the effect of her magic, his skin prickling lightly and his veins seeming to pump blood with an increased force. It refreshed his body, clearing away the dimming hang over he’d had when he woke up and even making his physical form warmer.
The greatest effect it had was it made the coolness of his wet clothes temporarily fade away, as his heated skin began to dry it exceedingly quicker. He listened as she explained her magic – Starlight apparently – and how she could transfer it to him to help with the warming process. That was all well and good until she hinted that the giggling girls from before had been giving him attention because of his looks. "I doubt that,” he added in, scratching his chin idly. Then, against his will. . "But maybe.”
Dammit; her friendliness was infectious.
As they went along, he had struggled to find a topic he would actually be comfortable addressing about himself. There was so much he kept private; it was easier to see what she was interested in learning about. That didn’t necessarily open more doors for information but he could, at the very least, brooch on his own terms. He nodded as she assumed correctly that he had been asked why he wanted to join; Arcadia had been very good at getting answers from her interviewee. So instead, she focused on what his magic was. "Shadow magic enhanced martial arts and sword combat,” he answered in almost a monotone. He’d practiced his answer to this exact question a number of times, telling just enough of the truth to keep people from prying deeper than that. He’d heard of other slayer types of magic in the world but he didn’t want to point a large arrow at himself as one of the God Slayers.
Then again, she was meant to be his mentor. That meant she could only help him improve if he helped her understand what he was capable of. He grunted softly, a mental chastisement, before he spoke again "Uh… listen,” he glanced around, making sure no one was actively listening to him. Then he moved a bit closer and lowered his voice. "It’s a bit more… complicated than that. I’m not comfortable talkin’ about it out here but… maybe once we get back to the guild.” What was it Arcadia had said? A leap of faith for a leap of faith. Sure seemed like he was doing a whole lot of jumping recently.
And to his surprise, people were jumping right with him.
"Oh, Arcadia. She’s the one that interviewed me. She seems nice,” he remarked in earnest. She had come right up and greeted him at the bar that first day, unafraid to talk to him and start the interview process. For as young as she looked, she had been incredibly wise. "I guess I don’t really know what a mentor/mentee system is s’posed to do. Do you like… train me in my magic?” As he spoke, he couldn’t help but have his eyes drawn to the bright colors and shimmering ornaments that filled the town around them. He’d known that there would be a festival but he couldn’t imagine how… colorful it was. Decorations hung from houses and businesses, stands were set up for people to purchase drinks and food and the crowds were beginning to tighten in around them. Mythal, admittedly, felt a bit enclosed but he was also a bit in awe. Everything looked exactly like the pictures in the books that he’d seen in the monastery. What had this festival been called again…?
"The Cherry Blossom Blooming Festival.”

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
He seemed amicable enough in his response, even joking a little about the boggling woman. Nessa had a good feeling about this, he wasn't as boisterous as Arcadia, or as zealous as Aven, but he was being civil, which was more than enough for her. He replied to her question by talking about martial arts and sword combat. She grinned, "Interesting, my Father trained me in combat, including swordplay. So I look forward to seeing what you can do," She replied, she wasn't an expert by any means, but she was skilled enough to get by with a sword. She was much better at fighting hand-to-hand combat, able to use her agility to attack in a nimble, effective fashion. But that was for another time; they didn't seem to require any fighting on this task.
"Oh it's okay, you don't have to go into any unwanted detail, I don't want you to feel pressured to open up unnecessarily." She told him in response to his suggestion that they discuss it further back at the guild. She knew full well about not wanting to divulge too much information; there were only so many at the guild that knew about her mother's background, and even less about hers. With the exception of Markus, Arcadia and Aven, who seemed to know various pieces of her history. She smiled at his remark about Arcadia, nodding in agreement, "She really is, isn't she?" Nessa listened to his question about the Mentor / Mentee process and took a moment to think. It wasn't a clear-cut question because in her experience the answer didn't just warrant a 'yes' or 'no' but belonged in a grey area.
"It's a tough one because sometimes with mentors and mentees, their magic isn't always compatible, sure I could train you to grow stronger. But there are individualistic qualities in magic that someone with a different magic type wouldn't be able to help with. For example, my magic is elemental based so I can help significantly with that, but a friend of mine creates spells using the creation of complex magic circles that he's drawn and developed. I wouldn't be able to help him improve on those because the magical structure and creation follows a different set of rules." She went on to explain, using Aven's magic as a reference for comparison, "However, what I can do, is take you on jobs and show you the ropes of being a Fairy Tail Mage. As a guild generally we're really flexible, but there are certain ways we prefer to have things done or matters handled. Jobs are so vast and obscure sometimes that it's not always easy to come up with the most effective way of managing them. Or sometimes a method you've used before might not always work in a different job, It's more about me helping you gain the experience so that you know how to manage these things on your own all the while suiting the goals that Fairy Tail maintains. " She hoped this would help him understand. It was a lot to process after all.
As they walked through town, Nessa reached into her side bag and pulled out the flyer that had been provided to them. Skimming its contents. It was at the point of reading the flyer, that the two of them were approached by a group of Midians. "Welcome to Midi, you must be here for the festival," said a woman in the forefront of the group. the woman snapped her fingers, and suddenly they were handed each a kimono. "Please enjoy these gifts, a means of truly enjoying the experience that is the Cherry Blossom Festival." Nessa glanced at Mythal, and shrugged, "Thank you," She said before unravelling her kimono and pulling it over her. It was a nice white tone, painting with pink cherry blossoms and vibrant hummingbirds. As she attempted to tie it on, some of the ladies in the group quickly hurried to help her, and at some point, a glass of sake was pushed in her hands. "Oh no," She said shaking her head, "Thank you, but it's a bit early for a drink." She said trying to hand the glass back. The woman shook her head, "But Miss, this is the traditional Midi Sake brewed by my great-grandfather. To deny such a treasured part of our culture would be a great disappointment to me." Nessa stared at the woman blankly, before giving off a nervous laugh. "Oh okay, I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend, of course, I'll drink it." She said, bringing the drink closer to her. She eyed it for a moment; she really didn't intend on drinking during this trip. She had experienced so many drunken mistakes recently that it just felt like a bad idea."Well, bottoms up." She said before knocking back the drink.
The next three days became somewhat of a blur for Nessa, between eating, dancing and being forced to enjoy glass after glass of sake. All the events of the festival had faded into copious glimpses of memories. Memories like swing dancing an eighty-year-old man, to arm wrestling with several Midi soldiers. There was also the vague memory of meeting the emperor at some point. It had been a really intense three days, the Midians really knew how to party. Whenever Nessa had managed to squeeze in some sleep, she was woken hours later and dragged back into it. Once the three days were over, she returned to the dock. Exhausted from the time she had spent there, waiting for Mythal at the pier where they had met, so they could make their way over to the next destination.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
Nessa was quite nice, to say the least. Definitely a social creature that enjoyed talking and getting to know other people; it was something he could just sense about her. Perhaps that was why she was so patient and understanding with everything involving him. It wasn’t a necessity earmarked by her position as his mentor but because she authentically wanted to get to know him and be friendly with him. As he opened up about his weapon training, she responded accordingly with her own history of training. Hell, she even said she was looking forward to seeing what he could do. While he hoped this job wasn’t going to throw them any kind of controversy, he couldn’t count it out. Nothing was ever as easy as it seemed after all.
She ensured him that she wasn’t going to pressure him to reveal his magic any more than he wanted to and he nodded, understanding. He honestly wasn’t entirely sure how confident he was about opening up more about it, mostly because it meant relaying a lot of his troubles and bloody past. He’d never felt compelled to tell anyone about that, save for the people that had been present for it. Maybe he would tell her at some point… though unlikely. Whatever the case, he was given a reprieve from unloading information in the here and now. That took some pressure off his shoulders and allowed him to listen, unabated by thoughts, as she explained the mentor and mentee relationship.
True, the magic being incompatible was true – especially for the two of them. Though the stars were dots within a blanket of darkness, they were still a form of light and resisted the urge of the shadow. In that way, and seemingly in their social abilities, they were like water and oil. But it seemed that the whole point of being a mentee to someone was to understand how to be the perfect Fairy Tail mage. It was to help new members to get better acquainted with the jobs they could take and upon taking those jobs, Fairy Tail followed certain policies. It was almost like assigning a manager to an employee to help them understand the system and make it work for them and the guild. "Interestin’,” Mythal said, nodding gently. It was an interesting process and one he could respect.
As they traveled through the town, Mythal did his best to move between people as they got in his way. Luckily everyone had a mind to get out of the way as they came, not for their own safety but more because moving in a crowd was like a complicated dance. Before long, a small group of Midians approached them, their faces bright with pride and glee. They rightly assumed they were here for the festival – wasn’t everyone? – and handed them each their own kimono. Mythal was honestly amazed. He’d heard of the kimonos that were given as gifts during the Cherry Blossom Festival from the Midian monks but they were far grander in person than he expected. He glanced at Nessa and shrugged as well. And just like her, he unfolded the article of clothing and slipped it on over his clothes. A pair of hands came over and helped him tie it, much to his chagrin. He stopped them about as politely as he could and finished the method, showing he understood the proper manner. A glass of sake found its way into his hand almost immediately and that’s when the God Slayer finally sported a grin. Now here was the real reason to enjoy the festival.
He paused, the glass nearly at his lips, as Nessa tried to return the drink and turn it down. He wasn’t offended like the other women but he was surprised. He stood there awkwardly, the brim resting against his chin, as the Midians informed her that it was part of the tradition to take part. He would have drank it without her taking part and thought about it just as she finally agreed. Grinning again, he swallowed down the sweet liquid and sighed happily. That would be the first of very, very many drinks.
How three days flew by, he couldn’t really explain. He’d been on benders before but none that were so… loud and filled with color. It was true the God Slayer only really loosened up once he had been drinking and based on the hazy memories in his head, he certainly opened up a bit more than he expected. But the final day had arrived and now it was time to leave. While Nessa looked exhausted, Mythal… just looked like his usual self. He walked up to her waiting at the pier. "So… where to next?”

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
Nessa's violet eyes remained closed for a moment; her eyes felt so dry and tired. Her body felt sore all over, a result of all the running around she had been doing the past few days. It wasn't so much that she was hungover, generally, she was quite fortunate in the fact that she didn't tend to suffer from those. She was just so tired, Nessa was actually one of those people who enjoyed a good nights sleep. Which the past few days she hadn't gotten a great deal of. She hadn't wanted to offend the Midi people by declining their invite to the party, but getting up and dawn and partying until the early hours of the next day was just so intense when it was three days on the trot. She just hoped that her mentee was alright, for the most part, she had enjoyed his company, from what she could remember of it. He really was a nice guy, albeit a little quiet. Plus he had been perfectly capable of handling himself. She wondered if he was even awake, from what she observed he had been offered a lot of sake during the festival. She felt a little anxious as she considered the possibility of alcohol positioning.
Her moment of fear was soon squashed as she spotted him making his way towards her. She sighed in relief, she watched through tired eyes as he approached, looking relatively... normal. She frowned in confusion, hadn't they both just endured the same endless partying experience. Yet he looked so... fine, like he hadn't just attended a three-day rager in Midi. His greeting was more of an enquiry as to where they were going next, Nessa pushed herself onto her feet, eying him groggy. "Next is Seven," She said simply, she couldn't bring herself to be enthusiastic about it just yet. She began leading him towards the boat, dragging her suitcase behind her. As they climbed on, Nessa glanced back at Mythal, "I'm sorry, but I'm going for a nap,". Normally, she might've accompanied Mythal and used the opportunity to get to know her mentee a little more. But after all of that, she just didn't feel up to it.
She headed towards the cabin, it wasn't exactly the nicest bedroom set up, but it would do. A bed was a bed, and she was in dire need of one right now. Also, Nessa's own bed at home wasn't that much bigger. She could easily afford to upgrade it too, but she had just grown so used to it now, it just felt like home that way. She climbed into it, pulling the thin sheet over her, it wasn't long before she drifted off. She would just catch up on some sleep and then socialise with him when she got up.
------------ Several days later -------------
Nessa could see the island of Seven in the distance. She had managed to get over the exhaustion of the events in Midi. Now she had got back into a normal sleeping and eating routine, plus she was pretty sure her body had finally burned through all the sake in her system. She had never been to Seven, but she had heard wonderful stories about it. It was supposed to be a mystical place and a source of powerful old magic. She had heard so many different things that she wasn't sure to believe them all, like that centaurs were living there or that you can talk to the animals living there. If it wasn't for Sebastian, and Arielle's existence, she would highly doubt it. But now she just couldn't wait to see for herself really.
As the ship pulled into port, she quickly made her way out. Wondering what kind of splendid culture and traditions she would get to see. Midi had been great, a real party, but now it was time for something different. She hoped it would be something a little more slow-paced, maybe even a little spiritual. Nessa made her way off of the boat, the first she noticed was all the forestry and green that surrounded the island. They were greeted with a carriage that would take them into the City of Seven. The journey was about an hour long, but it was clear when they would arrive. The glow of the city was magnificent, Nessa gasped at the sight of it. Eager to see what event the city was hosting, and how they would be spending the next three days. "It's so pretty," She said aloud, a genuine smile on her face.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
Seven. What an odd name for a land… or nation. Whatever they were, they clearly hadn’t put a whole lot of thought into naming their occupied country. Nevertheless, it was their next destination and Mythal wasn’t about to argue it. His poor mentor looked like a truck had run her over several times, with heavy bags over her eyes and an aura of just utter exhaustion. It was one of the very few times that a person could look more haggard than Mythal and it was kind of funny to see. Even as she told him their next place, she sounded worn and downtrodden. As she led him up the ramp, she turned and told him her next step once they were on board; to take a nap. By the sound of it, it was less taking a nap and more sleeping until her body no longer hurt. "Do what you gotta’. We got a few days so… rest up,” he said with a shrug. Obviously she wasn’t used to going on benders like this so he spoke in earnest, wanting her to recover and get some rest. Him; he practically got that blazed every single night so at this point, the three day party had just been a drinking holiday.
He watched her leave and then sighed, able to finally have some time to himself. Nessa was nice enough and extremely pleasant; in fact, aside from Markus, she was the only person he was fairly comfortable around, if one could call it ‘comfortable’. But he had been around her and frankly far too many Midians for him to feel at ease. He had bit down his annoyance to the best of his abilities; he had gone out of his way to avoid being touched by just going along with whatever they said or asked. It was a lot easier when he had been drinking; the God Slayer was practically a different person when he had been chugging booze. He’d managed to have a fairly nice chat with the Emperor of Midi about the Midian monks he had trained with. But it was far too much socializing for one as anti-social as Mythal.
And far too much sunlight. Somehow they had ‘hit the jackpot’ and gotten cloudless days with a gorgeous sun hanging over their heads. Not once did it ever threaten to cloud over and rain, leaving Mythal stuck standing under the blistering light and heat. Even now that ball of fire and annoyance hung in the air, the early morning rays practically burning right through him. He turned and walked down the corridor until he managed to find his cabin, only a few cabins down from Nessa. In he went, leaving the lights off as he went over and closed the shades. Great thing about large boats like this; the shades were as thick as armor and blocked out all light. The booze cruisers must bless their gods when they find they can keep their room in the dark for as long as they want.
He sat down on the bed and just… let himself be. There were still plenty of hours in the day and, while he wasn’t exactly sleepy, he felt no compulsion to head out and walk around. He could use another drink though and luckily for him, he could see the mini bar was filled. Definitely not enough to get him through until they reached Seven but… well he’d worry about that later.
When they finally pulled into port at Seven, Nessa had fully recovered and Mythal was back to looking the bum of the two. Whereas Midi had been a city full of architectural beauties, Seven was far more green as its massive forest spread out beyond sight. The sun didn’t quite break through the canopies at full beat, which made the God Slayer a bit more relaxed in comparison to before. As his mentor bounded down the ramp, they both noticed the carriage that would bring them to the actual city. In they went, with Nessa giddily staring out the window and taking in the views. Once they were in sight of the city, she stared at its glow in awe. "Huh…” he said a loud as he noticed a rather large banner hanging from a post. "Annual Sevenwood Magical Forest Race. Wizards from far and near welcome to join in the celebration of the approaching summer season,” he read the words in wonder. "I guess that’s what this festival is gonna’ be. Some kind of race.” But a race on what, he wondered.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
Mythal began reading the banner out loud, Nessa glanced up at it, her interested peaked. A race huh? That sounded fun, she wondered if it was just a race on foot, or if she would get to use her magic to buff it too. She hadn't actually tested how fast she could go yet, and it would be neat to get a number to work with and improve with. "Sounds like fun, I'm definitely gonna enter." The carriage came to a stop in the midst of the City of Seven. Nessa couldn't help but admire how beautiful the city was, it seemed to almost glow with its own energy. Her magical senses could felt the unique magical aura radiating from the land. It seemed to spread from all around. Nessa followed the crowd, glancing over her shoulder every now and then to check that he was still behind her. As they reached the part of the city where the race was being held. The starting line was being held at the clearing of a forest, Nessa found what looked like a race official. "Hey where do we sign up?" She asked, the official smiled and handed her a clipboard. She signed her name and handed the clipboard to Mythal in case he wanted to join in too.
The official spoke up, "I take it you're not from our lands seeing as you haven't brought along a racing animal, why don't you head to the stables, once you entered through the double doors, wait a moment, and you're chosen animal will approach you. Be sure to enter one at a time." Nessa nodded and made her way over to the stables as they were instructed. She glanced over at Mythal and shrugged, not really sure what to expect. She turned back to face the stable before stepping inside. She glanced around, the inside of the stable was not what she expected. It didn't look so much like the inside of a stable but more of a greenhouse. It was filled with vines and greenery. Nessa walked a little further in, not really sure what she was supposed to do now. there was a moment of quiet, then a squawk from above. She glanced up, looking up at what appeared to be an open ceiling. From the sky, a bird soared down, swooping down in a beautiful streak of red feathers and blue fire. The Phoenix came to a soft landing in front of her, looking at her for a moment. Nessa kneeled down and reached out slowly, the Phoenix stretched out its neck. Gently resting its face on her palm, she smiled softly. I guess this is my racing animal. She thought, admiring its beauty. She turned and began to walk towards the doors once more, the Phoenix following after. She stepped out of the stable, smiling at Mythal, she made her way to the starting line.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
I've been out there and seen the things she's made
Okay so… apparently they were going to race.
Mythal didn’t really enjoy the idea of getting a foot race with anyone – sounded like far too much work to him. But Nessa was still his mentor and he felt he should show some due diligence and take part in what she was interested too. After all, if they appealed to his likes, they would have just stayed in Midi and kept on drinking. And while she had certainly taken part in that, there was always a time for change. So as the carriage came to a standstill and she leapt out, Mythal followed after her, moving far slower than her energetic walk. He looked around at the impressive, glowing city that seemed to shine with all the light of the sun above. That was not exactly fun for him but he ignored it, following after the energetic woman as she ran up to an official looking man.
She asked about signing up and he handed her a clipboard. She signed her name and then handed it off to him, which he took and signed his name. Looks like he was committed to the cause now. That was when the official spoke up… in perhaps the strangest accent he have ever heard. Mythal had traveled far and wide over Fiore but never had heard the strange, odd inflections that came from a Seven resident. He stared at the man as he explained what they could do to get a mount, his eyes narrowed as he tried to figure out if this guy was just messing with them or not. Was it just some kind of speech impediment? Was this really the accent of Seven? Before he could actually ask, Nessa moved away and towards the stables. He looked at the man for a moment longer before following after.
From there, his mentor entered the stable and waited for her mount to present itself. Mythal glanced away to stare off at the city, wondering if there was going to be any kind of rabblerousing here too. Then he heard a loud squawking noise and turned his attention back just in time to see a majestic looking bird. It was a wondrous creature of crimson plume and amethyst flames that flowed off of it gently. A moment later, Nessa emerged from the stable leading the creature, smiling and taking off towards the starting line. He watched her go before he looked back to the stable. "O…kay,” he grumbled as he followed her lead, walking into the stables as well. It was designed oddly for what one would call a stables; it felt more like an open aired feeding ground. As he took a moment to reach up and poke a nearby leaf hanging off a vine, a similar squawk tore through the air and another Phoenix came down from the skies, landing before him.
"Well I guess it’s you and me, pal,” he said, a lot more cordial with the animal than he was with most people. After all, Mythal was far more polite to the animals of the world than human beings. He gave its neck a gentle pat, assuring it that he would treat it well. The impressive bird cooed through its beak and bumped him in the chest equally as gently. He took the harness in hand and led it out, doing his best to catch up to his mentor.
Once he had reached the starting line, he looked at her and shrugged. "Guess we’re matching,” he said simply as he ruffled the feathers of the bird lovingly. It cooed once more and then bent down, giving him ample room to jump up and onto its back. He adjusted himself onto it and then took the harness once more, now more than prepared for the race to start.

Re: F e s t i v i t i e s [ Mythal ]
When Mythal joined her, Nessa noticed her had the same animal too, she grinned. It seemed like they were evenly matched, that would make it more fun. Nessa could feel her slightly competitive nature begin to rise, as she paid attention to the breakdown of the race. She understood that it wasn't about magical ability or speed, but of how good of a rider you were. Nessa hadn't ridden many animals before; she most definitely hadn't flown with a phoenix before. The announced that the race was about to start, Nessa turned to her Phoenix. "Let's do our best and have fun," She said to it, not sure why she was saying it to the bird really. But still, the creature seemed to look at her dead on, before bowing its head at her. She grinned, moving around it, she gently climbed onto its broad back. "I'm not too heavy am I?" She asked, the bird cooed slightly, she smiled stroking its neck. It was strange, but Nessa got the strange sense that the creature understood her completely. The official pulled a speaker over his mouth, calling out to the racers. "Ready, set... GO" He shouted loudly in that bizarre Seven accents of his.
Nessa and her Phoenix shot off; the bird would race forward a few steps before unfolding it's great wings and lifting off the ground. Nessa held on desperately; it was so much faster than she expected. Flying above the trees, but remaining below the canopy set up for the race, the two of them would swerve up and around the taller trees. Nessa glanced around, trying to see what was going on with the other racers. It was hard; she couldn't quite see them clearly without craning her neck around, she didn't want to look too much to make sure she didn't lose balance. She turned back to gaze straight ahead, only to see vines ahead, vines they were flying straight towards. "Crap!" She said allowed, throwing out her palm, she summoned several orbs of light. The burst ahead, hitting the vines and burning them into ash. So that her and the Phoenix were able to soar through. That was a close one if they had hit that, they would've been tangled for sure.
After a short while, Nessa would allow some of her mana to pour into the Phoenix. Carefully maintaining it so that she didn't give the creature too much. "You're doing so good girl," She said to the Phoenix encouragingly. They actually were, Nessa felt like they were progressing well, maybe they could even win. "Let's duck back down a bit, I can't see any more gold markers ahead." She instructed, the Phoenix did so obediently. Dropping down further into the trees, Nessa sat up a little. Keeping an idea out for vines and what not. She could see the finishing line in the distance; her heart raced with excitement. "Keep going, I'll make sure your path is clear!" She said allowed, summoning several orbs around her. She would occasionally shoot them ahead. Making sure nothing could get in the way of them. She whizzed through the trees, getting lower and lower until they shot past the finishing line. There was a cheer from the spectators, the Phoenix slowed coming to a soft landing. Nessa hopped off, turning to the bird. "That was amazing," She said to the creature happily. The Phoenix stepped back, looking past her. Nessa frowned before turning around; she could immediately see why. Approaching them, was a rather large, intimidating yet beautiful Griffin. Nessa stepped in front of the Phoenix, unsure what to expect. The griffin looked down at her for a moment, before craning its neck around and using its beak to pluck out one of it's feathers. It turned back to look at Nessa, reaching out. Nessa slowly raised out her palm, into which the Griffin dropped the feather. It bowed it's head at her before turning and walking away. "Um...thank you..." She said, confused by the gift. Nessa turned around, shrugging at the Phoenix. "Guess I did well then?" She said to it, before looking around to see where Mythal had come.
