Job Location: The Cursed Lands/ Silent Cemetery
Job Description:
One day, a mysterious flier appears on the jobs board in your guild.
Legends have been told of the legendary warrior-mage "Thundergod" Michazuchi. An idol for so many of today's lightning mages, it is said he could level entire towns with a single spell and rend the very heavens apart. But even more fearsome was the weapon he wielded. Called Daishi, this legendary weapon is a huge mystery. Legend says that he purchased it from one of the best smiths in history, who told him that it would change itself to suit its owner's wishes. No one knows what the weapon did, for it is said that no one ever saw the naked blade and lived to tell the tale. When Michazuchi finally perished, many a treasure hunter searched for the blade, but it was never found. Family members said it was buried with Michazuchi, but the site of his tomb was not recorded, and the tales of this weapon gradually faded from the collective memory...
A little over a week ago, a mage on another job for me passed through the Silent Graveyard, and came across an overgrown grave, almost completely hidden from sight. When they uncovered the tombstone, the name was severely faded, but they believed it was the grave of Michazuchi. Unfortunately, their experiences in the Cursed Lands caused them to panic and flee, and they refuse to return. Therefore, I am looking for someone who will go to the grave and retrieve the weapon buried there. Of course, I will provide a handsome reward for anyone who can bring me this legendary weapon. Once you retrieve the weapon, post a note on this board and I will provide you with further instructions on how to contact me.

If you aren't afraid of the inherent dangers of the Cursed Lands, it should be a simple enough matter to hop on in, grab this rusty old sword, and hightail it on out to safety. But it won't be quite that simple. After all, people talk, and the mysterious figure pulling the strings of this job is not the only one who has heard of the grave's discovery. A dark guild called Asgard has taken notice, and they want this powerful weapon for themselves. They may not be well-known yet, but if they are allowed to get their hands on the relic, it won't be long before their name will be widely recognized- and feared. It's up to you to make sure they don't succeed!
Enemies:
Weak:
There are two weak members of the Asgard guild. If you roll/spawn a weak enemy, you may choose whether to take on both enemies, or just one. However, even if you just fight one at a time, you will still have to fight the second one at some point in order to complete the job.
Fenris (B-rank): He has no magic, and he's very bitter about it. He uses only melee attacks, using two sets of steel claws. He always attacks with both hands, so each attack has two separate hits, which must be blocked separately or deal damage separately. Each strike (this is per hit, not per attack) will deal B-rank damage. He has high magic resistance, so spells deal 50% less damage to him. Takes 4 hits of S-rank damage to defeat him.
Frey (B-rank): Uses plant magic. Uses hand-to-hand combat, dealing B-rank melee damage per hit (20HP). Special attack causes vines to explode from the ground beneath your feet, which will attempt to grab you. If you fail to dodge you will be help in place for one turn and be unable to block attacks. Cooldown time is 4 turns. Takes 4 hits of S-rank damage to defeat him.
Normal:
There are two normal members of the Asgard guild. If you roll/spawn a normal enemy, you may choose whether to take on both enemies, or just one. However, even if you just fight one at a time, you will still have to fight the second one at some point in order to complete the job.
Hela (A-rank): She uses ice magic. Her most dangerous attribute is the atmosphere of freezing cold around her. Anyone who is not resistant to cold-based magic will lose 2% movement speed on each of her turns as the cold saps their strength. Her special attack sends ice crystals at each opponent in the area, with hits causing A-rank damage. Takes 8 hits of S-ranks of damage to defeat her.
Loki (A-rank): Loki uses shapeshifting magic, and will take on the appearance of one of the mages in the group. If the mage whose form he is taking on is immune from taking damage from their own magic, he is also immune to taking damage from their magic as long as he is using their form. He will switch to the form of a different mage every other turn. He attacks with a sword, dealing 35HP per strike. Takes 8 hits of S-rank damage to defeat him.
Strong:
Valkyrie (S-rank): This armored mage takes 25% less damage from physical attacks and 25% less damage from magic attacks while wearing her armor. She wields a massive broadsword and deals S-rank damage. Her special attack allows her to call the spirits of the dead to aid her in her battle. She summons three B-rank spirits to assist her. They deal B-rank physical damage and each takes 2 hits of S-rank damage to defeat. They last for three turns before disappearing. She can only use this ability once per battle. It takes 4 hits of S-rank damage to destroy her armor (after which she takes full damage from all attacks), and a further 8 hits of S-rank damage to defeat her.
Boss:
Thor (H-rank): This powerful mage is the driving force behind this dark guild's presence here. He's the one who heard about the legendary weapon, and he wants it. And if it takes more than 45 posts to reach him, you're too late- he's already gotten it! And he'll use it on you too. In addition, if you have not defeated all five other members of Asgard before encountering Thor, all members that are not incapacitated will join him in this fight, and you'll have to face all of them at once!
His melee attacks deal S-rank damage. His special attack allows him to call down a lightning strike, targeting it at one enemy. A direct hit deals H-rank damage. In addition, anyone within 100 meters will take A-rank damage. If he has the weapon, his attacks do 25% more damage, and he has an additional special attack. Sparks of lightning will fly from the sword, flying up to 100 meters away. If anyone is struck by them, they will take S-rank damage, and will be stunned for one turn, meaning they cannot attack (although they can still block attacks.) This special attack can hit his allies. It takes 16 hits of S-rank damage to defeat him.
Reward:
After defeating all the members of the Asgard guild, you finally manage to get your hands on the legendary weapon. You also realize that Thor has a purse on him, and you decide to... Liberate it, making each of you 25,000 Jewels richer!
Once you return to your guild you have a decision to make. If you make contact with this mysterious J.R., he will pay you 75,000 Jewels for the weapon! Or, if you decide not to trust this shady character you can keep the weapon for yourself, earning you one Legendary (+) weapon slot! Each party member can decide which of these rewards they want to take. The weapons slot can be given to an alternate account or friend, but not sold back to the shop.

"Character counts most when duty calls." This place gave her the creeps. Serilda suppressed a shiver, asking herself for the umpteenth time how she’d managed to get wrangled into this mess. Grave robbing was hardly becoming of any decent person, let alone a noblewoman. The way she saw it, the descendants of this supposed hero Michazuchi had a right to keep his burial grounds a secret. But, Sabertooth had been offered the job, someone needed to step up to complete it, and Serilda was the one with a holy weapon that would be more useful in these supposedly cursed lands. She had managed to at least find the mysterious graveyard the client had mentioned. True to its name, the place was eerily silent to the point where the quiet was near about palpable. Luckily, silence itself wasn’t exactly a phenomenon that bothered Serilda much. Most people would go crazy, particularly in a graveyard, tricking themselves into hearing or seeing things that weren’t there just to fill the emptiness in their ears. Or at least, that’s how she viewed it. But not her. She accepted the quiet for what it was and would not try her emotions unless given a valid reason to. The problem was a valid reason was entirely possible. The small bit of exposure that Serilda had to what one might call supernatural experiences had not gone over well for the Voidwalker. She used to be heavily skeptical about things like ghosts and gods and demons. Serilda believed in them now of course -- she’d encountered more than enough evidence first hand -- but they were things she considered rare occurrences. And when she did find herself face to face with something not of the mortal word, with something she didn’t understand, it was one of the few times that fright ever considered taking hold of her. As Mythal aptly put it, Serilda was not a fan of things that went “bump in the night”. Yet, here she was. A part of her perhaps felt more at ease with this place due to the sword Mythal had given her, a scimitar blessed with holiness that gave her extra protection against such creatures. The weapon was currently sheathed at her hip within a worn looking scabbard that was a stark contrast to the pristine blade inside. The clothes she wore were cleaned, pressed, and practically uniform. Her long white hair was pulled back into a severe bun that left no stray hair out of place, with the exception of a swath of bangs that framed one side of her face. She viewed her surroundings with ice colored eyes and a stern gaze that bespoke herself a woman of business first and foremost. Beside her trotted a hound that was as carefree in nature as Serilda was not. The wolf was a rare breed with thick black fur that was speckled with cream along her spine, paws, and face in a pattern that closely resembled stardust. Xiuh was more than happy to just be outside, ever curious about the world around her -- though she stayed at the woman’s heels obediently, rather than give in the to temptation to venture off toward all the new and interesting smells that coaxed her sensitive nose. The graveyard was empty, but massive. Furthermore, it had not been maintained in quite some time. Nearly all of the grave markers were overgrown with brush in some fashion. Serilda sighed to herself quietly. This was probably going to take a while, even with her Void Sense. Reaching out as far as she could with her senses, she walked slowly while searching the area around her, paying particular attention to the graves below the surface to see if she could locate any bodies that appeared to be buried with a recognizable weapon.
