Re: From C to B
An exasperated little slayer sat in her upstairs office at the Fairy Tail Guild Hall in Magnolia. Recently she had secured the Princess of Fiore as an investor in the nascent Fairy Tail Productions. It was the princess' personal jewel, so it was no official endorsement that jewel from Fiore's national treasury would have brought.
It still brought a lot of pressure on Arcadia, if she wanted the princess' investment to be more than a one time infusion of capitol. Trouble was, ensuring future investment from the princess meant publishing at least one of the princess's songs, maybe more.
Arcadia thought the princess was a decent enough singer, but she definitely need the right band with the right sound to back her up to have any shot at decent sales.
Currently, the talent pool Fairy Tail Productions had to draw on for this stood at zero. Arcadia had listened to plenty of bands from all of Fiore and Ishgar on her iLac. Sadly, she did not have an in with any of them. Then she found, the perfect place to scout while browsing through LacBook. A small music festival in Hargeon, Krakenstock.
The demo songs of the various bands posted on the festival's LacBook page sounded promising. Better yet, many of the bands had not been signed by anybody.
To be sure one of them was what she was looking for, she'd need to hear them in person. Or maybe it was time Arcadia learned to delegate, because the band's next gig was supposed to be in a seedy dive in Crocus. Arcadia didn't have time to head off to Hargeon, but that festival might be the best chance to find the band she needs.
Arcadia tapped her iLac in thought, and had inspiration. She knew exactly who she could trust to act a talent scout. One name sprung immediately to mind. She believed Sage could handle this. The little slayer drew out one pf her remaining blank prototype flying pamphlets from her lower desk drawer.
She wrote a quick letter of request, explaining what she needed:
Arcadia folded up the flying pamphlet neatly in thirds and sealed it with wax. She addressed it on the outside to to Sage Elm, and activated the flight and homing magic circles. She then released the pamphlet out an open window to let it fly off and find Sage.
Possible Enemies
Weak: Drunken Festival Goers, everyday citizens out to enjoy their day, who may get a too friendly or act belligerent to anyone who gets too close.
Normal: Security, D-Rank mages, all with a variety of different magics, hired to keep things from getting out of hand and to keep festival goers from going where they shouldn't. They should only be a problem without the backstage pass.
Strong: Eryn, C-Rank fire mage, head of security, she arrives with reinforcement of regular security if first responding regular security gets a signal off. She should only be a problem without the backstage pass.
Boss: Arthur, Festival Organizer, B-Rank water mage, challenges any and all volunteers from the crowd to beat him in a exhibition match. Whoever draws the biggest reaction from the crowd for their displays of magic wins. If the winner isn't Arthur, winner gets backstage pass.
(Describe how Sage overcomes the various obstacles with or without his magic to get a band to sign that contract in a 1000 words or more. Have fine! ^.^)

Sage-
Hey there! Arcadia here. It has come to my attention that it is time for your B-Rank exam. I have an unusual opportunity for you to test and find mew limits within yourself! That's what Mura and Kyuken at my B-Rank exam. You may already know this, and of you do you're already one step ahead of where I was.
I have just the favor to ask that should help you realize this potential. Fairy Tail Productions recently procured the Princess of Fiore's personal investment. On going future investment of her personal jewel comes with the stipulation of getting one of the princess' songs produced and published. That's what I mean to do, but she is going to need the bossest band around to back her up to ensure sales.
That's where you come in. I'm gonna need you to act as a talent scout. There is a small music festival coming up in Hargeon. From the looks of it's a seaside affair, partly what made me think of you.
I've heard some demos of the bands to be playing on my iLac and a lot of them sound like what we're looking for. I need you to head to Hargeon for me and see, listen and talk to as many of those bands as you can. You may need to find a way backstage.
One possibility is am exhibition match they've advertised. The organizer of the festival, a man named Arther, fancies himself a water mage of no small skill. Apparently, he will be taking on volunteers from the crowd in tests of showmanship and pure magic power. That just means, the bigger and showier and more wowed the crowd is by the display is what determines the winner. The winner is promised back stage passes.
If you don't feel like an exhibition match, you may just have to find some other discreet means of getting back stage. You can worry about that after you have a little fun between the different stages they'll have set up. Let your ear guide you to the bands worth talking to. I leave it to you to choose which band, and to negotiate and sign them to the princess' song. Feel free to offer them an album of their own or anything along those lines if you need to incentivize the deal.
On a side note watch out for any drunken festival goers or overzealous security, especially if you don't get those backstage passes. Good Luck!
Love, Luck, and Lollipops,
Arcadia Fairchilde

Re: From C to B
It was a quite morning. Sage was jogging through the park like how he always did, gotta be in shape for future battles. After a few laps around the park's lake, he decided to stop and take a gulp of water from his water bottle, letting out a deep breath after drinking some. He closed the water bottle and looked around, enjoying the scene of the happy sunday morning. There were families around joking and having a good time together, couples walking side by side a smile stretching on their faces. There were also people who was walking their dogs and a group of people doing yoga together. He seemed interested at the people doing yoga, it seemed like fun, plus he could use some company, but before he could take a step towards the people doing yoga a letter flew across his face and landed on his palm. A look of wonder could be seen on his face as he received the letter. He looked for a place to sit before he open the letter. He sat on a bench and open the letter reading the content inside. As he read the letter a smile could be seen on his face, growing bigger and bigger as he read the letter. After he ended reading the letter he chuckle a little bit finding it amusing that his B rank exam would also be some kind of a favor for Arcadia. He stood up and folded the letter neatly into his pocket walking back to his room to get changed to go to Hargeon straight away.
The train stopped and Sage walked out of it, his iLac on his right hand with his earphones on. He was wearing his usual blue sweater but with a beach suit underneath as that's where he was heading. At the beach, a loud voice could be heard, "ARE YOU READY???!!!" and the crowds cheered sending a wave of enthusiasm across the stadium. "It looks like I'm in the right place," he said to himself and smirked, pulling his sweater and his khaki off, putting them inside his bag, leaving him only in his blue beach shorts. He was at the back of the crowds and when he looked at the stadium he could see Arther, the organizer standing aside as a water mage in the middle was doing something with his magic, playing with the water around and was like dancing or something. Sage analyzed the crowd and he could see that they were not that interested in fine art and he could instantly judge that to win over the hearts of the crowd he must pull of a reckoning stun, and he has just the thing.
As more water mages walked on stage to show what they got, Sage had gotten into line and it seemed like he was the last one, which was kind of good in a way that if his stun pulled off he could take the prize immediately, he waited and observed the skills of a few water mage, some was very talented but not enough to make the crowd grow loud and wild. The water mage before him then stepped on stage, he then started his act, making a lot of bubbles, like a lot of them that it covers the crowd, it was quite a sight but he doubt would like something like... bubbles. The man got off the stage and it was finally Sage's turn the last contestant all eyes was on him. He took a deep breath and face the ocean. He closed his eyes and held his arms out focusing on the ocean in front of him. He channeled his magic power towards the ocean. The crowd looked at the ocean and they could see a wave peak forming along the ocean which grew higher and higher. Sage wanted to make the crowd amazed so he pushed his limits. Sweat could be seen trickling down his forehead and his muscles started to tense. He gritted his teeth as he channeled his magic power towards the ocean, the peak then grew into a wave, the water still running through it though. Sage then placed his feet in position, lowering his body as he raised his tensed arms, making the wave grew wider and taller and finally overshadowing the crowd. That was just the start however, Sage didn't want to make a monstrous sight, he wanted to entertain the crowd. As the crowd looked at the wave with fear and amazement Sage redirect his arm to the side slowly, his body still tensed, the giant wave was brought out of the ocean and danced in the sky according to Sage's arms. The wave broke into several water waves and danced through the sky and finally meeting each other back and made a huge splash making it raining for a few seconds. The crowd cheered and Sage got the backstage pass.
Sage knew it was his cue and went backstage immediately not wasting any time. As he went back stage he could see a few of the band sitting with each other and talking, a few of the members turned around and saw Sage in his beach short, "Whoa,". Sage knew he had to use his charms to get the band to sign for him, he flashed a wide smile at one of the bands that was quite famous. He walked over to them still with a smile on his face, "Hey there," he said and the whole band members turned around, one of them who seemed like a leader answered him, "Hey there, what can we do for you today?" while a smile also stretch across his face. "The princess sent me, well indirectly, would you care to be the band to for our lovely princess?" he asked them while holding out the agreement paper, flashing at them another smile. "Well heck yeah!" one of them said and took the pen and signed the form, "Thank you gentlemen." he then walked off to see Arcadia back in Magnolia with the good news.
