Find the Ring (Marielle Sky, job)

The tension was in the air. The excitement was everywhere. As soon as the awaited train screeched to a stop, the chaos began. Marielle Sky was supposed to be used to this type of welcome. A noisy crowd, the flashes’ of cameras, the suffocating microphones and the interrogating questions, were all part of a normal Sky’s life. But
Marielle isn’t just a normal sky. She’s a mage with a much greater responsibility than posing for the cameras.
“pshh” Clara, Marielle’s cousin said. “They’re a lot more fewer this time”
“Ehh!” Marielle exclaimed in surprise. “The train station’s almost full and your expecting more”
“Hmm” she replied, sipping her cup of soda.
When the doors of the train was finally opened, Clara and Marielle was not able to go down with no demanding requests from the crowd.
“Clara!” The people shouted “Face here”
“Marielle, Here!”
Marielle must admit, Clara was a genius when it comes to this. Her pose, her smile, her attitude, everything that Marielle’s father would want from her daughter was in her. She was no match for the shining beauty beside her.

“Marielle Sky” A cloaked figure suddenly formed in front of the cousins
“Kyaaa!” Clara shouted, running back to the train.
At first, Marielle felt a twinge of fear. But as the figure pulled out its hands, or lets just say paws to drag her out of there. All that Marielle could do, was to chuckle.
“Angelica, what are you doing in those clothes?” Marielle asked, when they reached the river.
“I am not Angelica” her exceed replied. “I am a mysterious old lady” She pulled out a piece of paper.
“A job?” Marielle said in surprise. “Ok, I get it, but why the suit?”
“Grandma!” a voice shouted from behind. It was a young lady with a worried look on her face. “Oh! Is she the mage your talking about?” she sighed in relief.
“Grandma?” Marielle said pointing to Angelica.
The girl smiled. “So could you help me?”
Marielle read the paper:
I’m Emily Milton, I’ve lost my ring please help me find it.
Marielle smiled, if this would save her from her dreaded picnic with Clara, then so be it.
“Ok!” Marielle signed a thumbs up “Let’s find this ring!”

The search was a real pain. Anywhere Marielle goes, she’ll find an item but not the one she’s searching for.
“Hey!” She shouted at Angelica who was just sitting below the shade. “Why aren’t you doing anything?”
“Baka!” Angelica shouted. “I’m an old lady, old ladies don’t find stuff, it’s the problem of the youth”
“Marielle” Emily interrupted. “Let’s just let grandma rest, she strained herself just by looking for you.”
Marielle shot an angry look at the exceed, but Angelica’s expression was well hidden behind her cloak.
“If I just have my chance I’ll strip off that ugly cloak” Marielle whispered to the grass she’s crouching on, when suddenly, she saw a sparkling light.
It was just a split second and she wasn’t even sure that it was the ring. But Marielle stood to look for the sparkling object. Finally, she saw it, a paper boat that was quietly cruising the river with a special passenger on board. Emily Milton’s ring.

“Ahhh!” she shouted, quickly extending her hands towards the boat. Unluckily, the boat was too far for Marielle’s reach.
“I need a stick” she shouted, and Emily quickly provided her the stick.
Slowly, the two helped each other in getting the boat to shore, without toppling it over.
Gently, very gently, the boat neared the---
It was faster than them, it didn’t even need to be careful. The moment it saw it, it took its action, swooping down from it’s heavenly realm, the Black Crow snatched the sparkling ring.
“A Crow!” Emily gasped.
“I’ll be back” Marielle said, already running for it. Now that she’s seen the object she wanted, she’s never letting it out of her sight.
“Come on!” Marielle said, grabbing Angelica.
Once they were far away from Emily, Marielle uncovered Angelica.
“Oh Marielle!” Angelica smiled fakely. “You’re here! I was looking for you”
“Shut up” was Marielle’s reply, making Angelica laugh.
“So what do you need?”
“Just find the crow” Marielle said, looking up at certain places, where crows may hide their loot.
“Ok!” Angelica said, flying over Oak Town.

Marielle sighed. “At least Angelica’s act’s temporarily gone. Now where to look for that ring. I should ask the locals”
“Excuse me, have you seen a crow fly over here?”
“Sorry” the baker man apologized.
“Have you seen a crow?”
“Nope” a man said
“Have you seen a crow?”
“Yes” A woman finally confessed
“Does it have a ring on its beak?” Marielle asked excitedly.
“Sorry, but no, it doesn’t”
“Please, where did you last saw it?”
“I guess above rooftop “The woman pointed” Isn’t that where they put the things they get?”
Marielle climbed the rooftop but saw nothing. She sighed. “I wish Angelica’s having more progress than me”
Suddenly, a fortunate familiar voice shouted. “Marielle!” Looking from the rooftop, Marielle saw Angelica flying towards her.
“I saw the ring!”
“Really?” Marielle said. “Come on, Let’s fly!”
“but- but- but-“ Angelica stammered.
“What but?” Marielle asked.
“We have one problem”
Marielle curled her brow.
“What problem?
“It’s with Clara”

The picnic grove was what Marielle had expected it to be. A huge fancy tent lay in the middle of it. Surrounded by a chord which acts as a fence from the paparazzi which eagerly took pictures of Clara who was busily pouring her tea.
Marielle and Angelica only wanted to walk peacefully, but as soon as Clara saw them, she shouted. “Marielle!”and the cameras was on them. “I thought you’d never come”
“Ahahaha” Marielle laughed as Clara’s guards pulled the chord up, to let them pass.
“Have you shooed the creeper away?” was Clara’s first question.
“Creeper” Angelica repeated in an annoyed tone.
Clara who didn’t knew who the person under the cloak was nodded. “Yes! A creepy person appeared before us, it called Marielle, I was soooo scared, and Marielle was sooo brave that she faced the monster by herself”
“Monster” Angelica repeated again
“Ahh” Marielle said, trying to calm angelica. “It wasn’t actually a monster, it was just an old lady needing some help”

“Even though” Clara said in a cute way. “My cousins so so so brave” she said, pinching Marielle’s face”
Marielle knew what Clara was doing, when she left, the paparazzi probably jumped into conclusion and asked Clara about her, commenting bad things, and now she was clearing things up for her.
“Come let’s have tea” Clara invited.
Marielle really wants Clara, she really loves having tea time with her. But the eyes that continuously watched them was so uncomfortable for her, that she would always reject the offer.
“No, Thank you” Marielle said. “I was just going to ask, if you have the ring I was looking for”
“Ring?” Clara asked. “I don’t think you’ve left a ring inside the train, sorry Marielle”
“No, no,no” Angelica interrupted. “I thing your crow got it”
“Crow?” Marielle asked, surprised “You have a crow?
“What?” Clara protested. “You have a talking cat”
Marielle shrugged. “Well, you have a point there”
“I’ll go check” she smiled, going through a huge treasure chest.
“Is that yours?” Marielle asked, quite intrigued. Every Sky has one chest that has been made for them, but Marielle herself was the only person she knew who actually uses it for storage.
“Yep!” Clara said quite positively. “And I knew every one of these jewels, except” she said slowly. “for this one”

“That’s Emily’s ring!” Marielle exclaimed.
“Probably, princess got it when she roamed around”
“You named the crow princess?” Angelica asked in disbelief and Clara only shrugged.
Marielle and Angelica ran towards the exit with Claras’ last question. “Are you coming back for the picnic?”
Marielle stopped, then looked at her, then at her paparazzi, then at Angelica.
“Maybe next time, I have an important date”
“Date” Clara chuckled. “And that’s the best lie you can come up with”
Marielle laughed and took her leave.

Emily was so happy to see her ring again, it was so important to her that she couldn’t stop crying at the sight of it.
“If you need another help, just drop by the FT guildhall, we have a lot of reliable mages there” she smiled and took her second leave.

Marielle and Angelica quietly watched the peaceful setting of the sun.
“Angelica” Marielle whispered to her companion. “You’ll never leave me, right?”
Angelica was taken aback. “Why would you ask me that?”
“Please promise me” Marielle pleaded. “That whatever happens, you’ll forever be by my side”
Angelica sighed. “I’m not sure where your coming from, but fine, I promise I won’t never leave Marielle Sky”
Marielle smiled and chuckled. “Ok! Then now I’ll name you Princess!”
“What?” Angelica complained.
“Or maybe treasure, or super cat”
“Stop with the stupid naming!”
Marielle chuckled, running away from Angelica who started charging at her.


Two friends laughed under the setting sun. Pledging that they will never leave each other's side...till the end of time
