Name: Icarus
Species: Barn Owl
Type: Exceed
Description:
The only one who seems capable of truly getting inside Mercury's head is his telepathic pet barn owl, Icarus. Icarus used to belong to the Archmage Mercury studied under, but it changed its allegiance when Mercury let the Archmage go free. Its reasoning behind the decision is unknown, even to Mercury, but the owl is his constant companion and is not afraid to offer its advice, whether it’s welcome or not. Icarus has said, however, that his and Mercury’s intellect are linked but separate; that is, the owl only knows what Mercury knows, but his mind works independently of the boy’s.
Icarus is a snarky owl. He enjoys the telepathic link he has with his owner, sometimes teasing Mercury for his little insecurities. Nevertheless, he is a trustworthy fellow, and likes to be kept in the loop of things going on around him. He has a curiosity that matches Mercury's. However, if danger rears its ugly head, he's liable to turn and flee.
Abilities:
Icarus can fly. He can hold small, relatively light objects in his talons. He has keen eyesight and hearing. He has a weakness for small rodents, or rodent-sized pieces of meat.
