Looking at the magic rules I noticed that some of the benefits are either universally useful or play to the specific strength of that magic. For example the Caster benefit reduces mana costs (which is universally useful and befitting a spellslinger) whereas the Take Over benefit increases health and mana (which makes sense since Take Over is about turning yourself into something awesome).
On the other hand Ancient Magic boosts either physical damage or magical damage, which both feels a bit out of place and makes it undesirable for defensive/supportive playstyles.
Actually looking at all benefits there doesn't seem to be any real boosts for supportive playstyles but I'm going to stick to Ancient Magic for now.
The idea behind Ancient Magic is that it has been handed down through the ages and because of that has been refined to allow for some very powerful effects. However I feel like it would be an improvement if this power could also be utilized for non-offensive characters (also I'm not entirely sure why physical damage is in there).
My suggestion would be to change the current benefit of Ancient Magic (+50/30/15% to either magical damage or physical damage) into the following:
Solitary Benefit: +50% to Strength/Spell Damage/Healing/Defense (specify which in magic)
Primary Benefit: +30% to Strength/Spell Damage/Healing/Defense (specify which in magic)
Auxiliary Benefit: +15% to Strength/Spell Damage/Healing/Defense (specify which in magic)
The idea would be to keep the concept of Ancient Magic resulting in very powerful effects, but that the nature of the magic still decides what kind of effect receives the boost rather than only boosting offensive styles.
