Truthfully, she had no idea what had happened but before she had been able to leave the village, Sarisha had been dragged in to one of the houses by a group of elderly residents, grateful for what she had done. There must of been a dozen of them but they just refused to let her leave until they had thanked her probably for saving their village. At first, the mage was rather irritated but after a few minutes or so, she started to relax and begin to enjoy the company of those around her. They offered her plenty of food and drink, which she accepted without a thought, not realising until then just how hungry she was. The conversation was certainly not what she would expect from senior citizens either and as it turned out, every single one of them had been a mage at some point and had been a team for many years, much to her surprise.
They spoke of the adventures of their youth, fights that they fought and monsters that they had slayed and Sarisha was unable to stop herself from enjoying the tales. She was soon regaling them with her own tales as well and the elderly crew were fascinated by her bond with Valara and her links to the world of the Gods. They listened to her with rapt attention and were soon bombarding her questions that she found difficult not to answer. They were just so fascinated with her and she felt quite flattered by the attention. She was used to being alone, well, physically speaking anyway and it had been some time since she had last spoken at length with anyone. Thinking back, the last time was probably at the start of her magical journey and her conversation with an old mage in Hargeon. It seemed that she was popular among the elderly although hell knows why that would be. Sarisha was hardly an angel by any means and a day that she was not slaughtering was a day wasted in her opinion.
It was a good couple of hours before they finally let her leave although before she did, they placed a bag of jewels in her hand as thanks for spending time with them, much to her surprise. In truth, she had probably earned more money in that two hours than she would for many of the jobs that she had some completed. There was no chance of her turning them down though and she took them without a word of complaint although in a rare gesture, she actually thanked them for the gift. After promising them to return one day and exchange stories again, the pink haired mage made her way out of the house and off down the road.
Not exactly her usual line of work but for some reason, there was a smile on her face as she once more took to the well beaten path and off to her next port of call, wherever that might end up being.
