Assassination Contract: Silverspoon Empty Re: Assassination Contract: Silverspoon

Cetus leaned against the edge of the building, his face shrouded by his hood. It hadn't been all that long since he had escaped the Order of Law and he had no desire to be found by them. Watching the target for this job made the shark man physically sick. Laurence Silverspoon laughed too much, talked too much and pushed himself on others too much. It was easy to see why the villagers wanted him dead. Cetus inspected his nails, watching Silverspoon over his knuckles. The man was trying to kiss a girl that clearly didn't want his attention. Cetus' magic wasn't cooperating with him as of yet. The White King was still reviewing his application. A shame he couldn't use it to terrify this sap. It'd be easy to take the man out here in broad daylight. However, Cetus wanted more of a challenge. He wanted to take Silverspoon apart slowly, carefully. Any extras that got in his way weren't going to be shown any mercy either. That would have to wait til nightfall. Cetus pulled the half mask up over his face and slipped away.

Cetus found Silverspoon's house rather easily. The man didn't know the meaning of the word overcompensating. His house gleamed in the pale moonlight. Silver twined with gold on nearly every inch of the house. At least there was a wall surrounding the entirety of the property. However there was no magic on the entirety of the wall. "Fool" Cetus murmured. What was a magic less wall supposed to do? Look pretty? Cetus' golden eyes flashed. There was a crowd of useless twittering women gathered by the gate. They apparently wanted the twit's attention. Cetus approached silently. They were attempting to climb over the gate. No one would miss these idiots. The first one's neck broke  without issue. A strike to the throat silenced the second one. He scooped up a sign the second one had been holding. Not the best weapon but it would have to do. Cetus plunged the blunt end through the back of the third woman. The last two women realized then what was going on. Cetus couldn't let them scream. His teeth sunk into the neck of the fourth woman while his hand clawed out the last woman's throat.

Blood flooded into his mouth. Cetus struggled to keep control as the woman dropped to the ground. The great rage floated just below the surface. The blood called to it trying to draw it out. Cetus had to pause there. It wasn't the best place to stop but Cetus couldn't lose control either. The red haze would lead to him slaughtering everything, everyone without regard for his safety. The slaughtering wasn't what bothered him. It was the 'no regard for his own safety'. Cetus didn't want to leave this mortal plane yet. He had something he wanted to do before he died. It took about a minute of Cetus standing over the bodies of the young women for him to regain control. Somehow, the guards never approached him. "Sloppy" Cetus said, cracking his neck.

Vaulting over the gate, Cetus saw the guards. They were fast asleep. "Tsk." It would have been easy to leave them alone. However, Cetus wasn't about to let this terrible lack of self preservation to stand. Adjusting the dentils on his palm, Cetus used his hands to rip out the guards' throats. One woke up when Cetus grabbed him. His eyes grew wide before his blood sprayed the ground. "Pathetic" Cetus said pulling the knives and swords off the corpses. The knives were placed in his belt. The swords were given a few swings. Fine steel but not masterwork. Inspecting the edges made Cetus scowl. Silverspoon didn't have his guards take good care of their swords. These blades were likely to snap under the first blow from an opponent.

Cetus stalked toward the mansion. Two more guards sat sleeping at the entrance. Cetus rolled his eyes. A flick of his wrists splattered their blood over the stone. Every step Cetus took was increasing his bloodlust. He wanted to end this man. There would be nothing that could stop him. Dogs began to bark ferociously. A smirk twitched upon Cetus' face. Perhaps Silverspoon wasn't as stupid as he first believed. He turned to face the oncoming threat. Three dogs were charging toward him. They were big beasts, covered in black fur. Their teeth gleamed, their eyes burned with furious madness. There would be only battle here. Cetus stepped into the first attack when the fastest dog leapt. Ducking low, Cetus swept the tip of his left sword through the dog's stomach. It would be a hard death but at least the beast wouldn't come at his back. His right arm snaked out to shove that sword into the second dog's throat. The beast's speed kept the body moving forward. It collided into Cetus forcing him to release the sword. "Damn it!" Cetus cursed. He yanked the body of the dog around to keep its comrade from sinking its teeth into his side. Grabbing a dagger, Cetus slammed it into the dog's eye. It jerked away with a yelp, yanking the dagger from Cetus' grasp.

The guard dogs were dealt with. Silverspoon and whatever guards he had left were probably ready for him now. Cetus shoved the dead dog off of him. There was no recovering the sword in its throat. Moving to the bodies he hadn't looted yet, Cetus pulled their knives and swords off. The extra sword was rigged to poke over his right shoulder. "Here. I. Come." Cetus said as he slammed his foot into the door. The wood splintered before the door swung open. Two terrified guards stood there, their swords held at the ready. Cetus gave them a pointy toothed smile. "Prepare to die, fools." Cetus exploded into action. The guards weren't even a challenge. They were too used to spending their days on their butts guarding a pompous brat. The first fell, clutching the slice across his throat. The second managed to deflect a few blows before Cetus plunged his sword into her stomach. A slow twist brought her to her knees. Cetus placed a foot upon her shoulder to yank his sword out. It was sad really. These two weren't even good fighters but they laid their lives down for Silverspoon.

Seeing an open door leading into the kitchen, Cetus remembered an additional part of the contract. There was a Silverspoon heirloom, a set of antique spoons that the contractors would pay extra for. Would Silverspoon be so vain to keep the set in the kitchen? Cetus decided to risk it. After divulging his latest victims of their knives, Cetus stepped into the kitchen. Lo' and behold there was a set of spoons displayed upon the wall. Cetus shook his head as he broke the glass. The spoons were placed into a small pouch on his belt. Now to deal with the actual target himself.

Cetus moved like a shadow through the rest of the house. There appeared to be no other guards in the house. Silverspoon was so conceited he only had six guards. A shame of true protective detail. Silverspoon's bedroom was easy enough to find. Cetus kicked the door open, a sword flying from his hand. Another guard went down. Cetus was surprised. Silverspoon had drawn the other four guards to an ambush in his room. Perhaps the man was smarter than Cetus gave him credit for. However, Cetus was prepared. Knives filled the air bringing down the other three guards. Silverspoon stepped out of the shadows. "It seems my guards were too weak to handle you. Prepare yourself! For now you face Laurence Silverspoon!" Cetus gave him a bored look. The final knife slammed into Silverspoon's shoulder. The haughty expression melted off Silverspoon's face. "AHHH!" Cetus charged as the man screamed. The second sword was drawn from his back. "Die fool!" The swords came down. Silverspoon made some overture at a martial maneuver but Cetus had years of training in the arts. The swords cleaved Silverspoon's arms from his body. With a second stroke, Cetus separated the head from the body. "It is done" He dropped the swords. The shark man didn't bother looking at his handiwork. Turning his back on his completed mission, Cetus slipped away into the night.
