A dark silhouette dragged its feet along a nice cobbled path into Shirotsume, smelling of exertion and the crisp air of the nearby mountainous regions. It was Theo Silversong in a rare moment of solitude, doing something he very much enjoyed but had grossly underestimated. When he'd left this morning to embark on his expedition to a rumored ruin nestled in a deep valley hidden in the heart of the uninhabited mountains near this well-off town, he'd had no idea just how much more taxing it could be than his normal trips. Maybe he was out of shape or practice having largely been more settled since joining Crystal Swan, and especially since joining his team, dating Rin, and becoming an Ace. When the exploration task had popped up, he'd jumped at it. But climbing up and down mountains was really hard! Nor counting getting down into the ruin to find it was suuuuuper deep and full of goblins. By the time he got out with a few shiny items, he realized he'd used a lot of magical power, and his general stamina would be hard pressed to get him back to the town, let alone back to the Crystalli.
His posture was exhausted, almost desperate to find somewhere to rest. Or, more importantly, somewhere with some light so he wouldn't be stuck in this darkness. The moonlight overhead was enough to keep him from running around in a panic, but also allowed enough of one of his fears in to make him on edge. Shining lights in close spaces like caves and ruins gave the illusion of more light, where as a light in the open air seemed small and only did so much without surfaces to bounce off of. If only he'd been better prepared and reserved enough juice to teleport home...
