THE TEMPEST;; PART 1
RANK: B
JOB LOCATION: Any city or town, except the neutral grounds.
SOLO WORD COUNT: 3,500 words
GROUP WORD COUNT: 7000 words
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Four mages maximum. Must have at least two C rank mages if in a group, or a B rank mage otherwise. Must defeat two groups of enemies and then the boss. Can only be done once.
JOB DESCRIPTION: A storm, long brewing inside the minds of the populace finally begins to surface. The spell, like a virus, spread from person to person in the matter of months, undetected, and now the dormant disease finally awakens. The sky darkens across the continent and disgusting, dark, swirling clouds seem to appear from nowhere. The Tempest has begun. Your goal… is unclear at the beginning. Citizens and mages are in distress alike and dark clones of them materialize from The Tempest's spells casted on them. As a legal mage, you spring into action to protect the people around you, or as a dark or guildless mage you prepare to fight in self-defense. You must defeat two groups of enemies before the boss automatically spawns, a mirror-copy of yourself (and your teammates) that after it’s defeated it drops a note and the storm subsides… For the time-being, at least.
(No need to roleplay:) Afterwards, the mayor will give you a prize of jewels for your valiant efforts in saving the town. The note dropped reads, “The storm rages on, the mistress grows her army”.
ENEMIES:
Weak: Tempest-Borne Citizen x20: A clone of a non-mage made by The Tempest. Not able in combat magically, but each deal D-rank melee damage with their fists and nails. Their only strength is in their numbers. Each takes one C-ranked spell to defeat.
Normal/Strong: Tempest-Borne Mage x3: A clone of a local young mage made by The Tempest. Appearance is up to the character. Each of the three mages control a respective element--ice, fire, and electricity--and deal B ranked damage with their spells. Each require two B-ranked damage to be defeated.
Boss: ??? x?: A clone of you and your teammates made by The Tempest! Deals B-rank damage with their spells (which mirror the user’s) and can also use Tempest Magic, which deals B-rank in electricity and wind damage. Each require six B-ranked damage to be defeated. Otherwise copies all of the player’s stats--like unique abilities and any spells--except their Lineage. Once they are defeated, The Tempest subsides.
Reward: 30,000 jewels, B rank EXP, access to the next job in the sequence, minor infamy for your efforts.
