Name: Mary Bonny
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Birthday: 09/19
Sexuality: gay
Special Characteristics: N/A
Personality: Short version? Wild, but savvy. The long version? Mary is a very curious person. A trait that often gets her into trouble. Yet, she’s also very creative and responsive which usually gets her out of said trouble. At first she might seem like a reasonable person, which isn’t entirely wrong either. She’s not quick to antagonize people, and will not do so without reason. That said, she’s also a very selfish person. So said reason can be “to make a quick buck” or “It amused me”. Even so, excessive violence usually isn’t Mary’s style, though she certainly likes tavern brawls well enough. On the other side, to people she likes she can seem somewhat motherly, if still quite much of a flirt and somewhat rough.
She once was a pirate and murderer. While she certainly has murdered her share of people, now she mostly deals in forbidden goods, some which she herself wants little to do with. But if people pay Mary doesn’t mind to have a few in stock or even kidnap/kill someone for the right price. Though she will always first check if the job is viable. She doesn’t do suicide missions, if possible. That said, she actually enjoys a challenge every once in a while.
She’s also a massive flirt, especially when it comes to other females. Somewhat with men too, but they’re usually not fun enough to tease. How much generally depends on how amusing their actions are. Otherwise, Mary is also energetic, always ready to go on a new adventure. Whether that means helping some kid find her missing puppy, stealing a letter from the rune knights or just kill someone in cold blood is irrelevant. As long as she gets paid appropriately for her troubles.
In combat she tends to be rather direct. She usually keeps a cool head and attack whenever she sees an opening while anticipating the attacks of her opponent. It’s not behind her to fight dirty, life is not fair after all. Like that, she’s quick to banter and or taunt opponents into revealing openings. She is however, not merciless. She won’t finish survivors off if there is no reason to kill them, nor isn’t she willing to bargain with said people. She will probably take them prisoner though. Slaves are expensive, and usually worth even more jewels for the right people.
Likes:
Booze: Preferably beer or rum. Not of that expensive stuff. But even that is still better than water.
Strength: She recognizes strength in other people, but dislikes weakness. More in a spiritual sense than a physical sense. It’s more how one acts when the chips are down, rather than a direct display of power.
Women: She certainly has a perverted side to her. But hey, who doesn’t enjoy the company of a beautiful young girl after a day of hard day of (dis)honest work.
Money: As a greedy person there is a lot she will do as long as the price is right. Her magic is also indirectly fuelled by money.
Clothes: Part because of her magic, part because of her own interest. It’s kind of her guilty pleasure to dress up like a normal young woman every now and then.
Danger: The thrill that keeps her alive. Sure she could live a normal live, get a husband and children and live happy ever after. But she doesn’t like the sound of that at all. Danger keeps her on her toes, and feel alive.
Dislikes:
Laws: She agreed to no law. As it’s not something she agreed to she doesn’t have to follow it, regardless what others think.
Idiocy: Allies charging on and biting off more than they can chew, Killing targets you need alive. Destroying expensive or unique items. The list goes on and on.
Word breakers: She doesn’t mind dishonesty or cheating, but breaking your word is a no go. How can someone be trusted if one breaks their own promises.
Water: Drinking, at least. She’d rather have some booze.
Motivations: Buy/”acquire” a ship and gather a crew: Being stranded with little money to her name and only some basic equipment isn’t a situation wants to be stuck in for long. She’d go back to terrorizing the coasts if she had the chance, and this time, she’ll be in charge!
Experience: Rather hard to call it anything else. Finding Treasure, kidnapping a lot of people or important people, killing a high profile target, fighting other mages or wild monsters. She does it all, provided she has a chance at success.
Becoming legendary: Having her tales song of in taverns, either in fear or joy of the deeds she did. Earning Renown and be a name on everyone’s mouth. As a whisper, or a shout. It doesn’t matter which, as long as it happens.
Fears: Imprisonment: While she’s imprisoned she can’t be out there causing trouble. Life is short as it is, so let’s not waste it in a stupid cell.
Betrayal: On a ship, people need to have each other’s backs. If there is no trust between the crew there is no way to return to land and to life. Groups have to work like a well oiled machine. There is no place for betrayal or mutiny.
Death: A common fear. A human is only mortal so one day it is inevitable. After all that she has done there is no question that she’ll sink to the bottom of whatever afterlife there is. Even so, she’ll face it head on, just like she did while alive. Or so she says, but she can’t help but feel a little afraid.
