Aven paced back and forth, a delicate letter clutched between his hands. He hadn't the slightest idea of what was going on, what to do, where to go, how to react?! That morning, he'd been on his way to the Guild, when a letter had dropped on his head from a rooftop. It'd been addressed to him, and upon opening it, to his utter shock, it was a love letter from a girl in town! It asked him to meet her in the alley near the South Gate Park with his answer.
Naturally, Aven was terribly shy around women, especially when they actively pursued him. His cheeks lit up brightly as he pondered what he should say. He didn't know what she looked like, or really anything about her except that she was apparently in.... love with him. So many uncertainties, so many questions, and in the end, he'd decided to simply meet her there and talk for a bit. It made him flush just thinking about such a scandalous outing, but if he didn't show, he could end up breaking her heart, after the girl had put her feelings on paper and been courageous enough to deliver it, even if it was indirectly. He steeled himself, taking a deep breath, and exhaling slowly. That kind of dedication deserved a response, at the very least.
Aven's cane made a slight tacking noise as he strolled into the alley, the sound reverberating oddly off the walls. Sure enough, there was a wide eyed young woman there, blonde hair and an expectant look on her face. She looked a few years younger than himself, and he couldn't sense much energy coming from her. She was likely a normal citizen, but unfortunately, not really his type, at least at first glance. He swallowed one more time, pushing down the nervous tension, and spoke. "Hello, there, Miss! I hope you haven't been waiting too long..." He smiled gently, his eyes just as soft as they always were.
