Blinding Duel[Aven's B rank Exam]

Rina had wanted to be able to test Aven's strength today. Although she knew that her strength was low magic wise, she believed that would be a good test to show how much Aven has progressed. If he was able to defeat her, or at least injure her enough, then he would most likely be able to be progressed to B rank. She was sure that he would be able to pass her task, even if she had a stronger power source than him. However, all she really was waiting to do for the time being, was for Aven to enter the East Forest. So, as she sat there on a wooden stump, she prepared her heavenly spear as it shined beautifully in her hand.

Aven strolled lightly through the treeline, twirling his cane as he did so. Rina had invited him out for what she described as a "Test of Strength", a duel of sorts: though, he wasn't exactly worried about it. He'd grown considerably since their last job, both in power and in knowledge, and with things as they were, he was actually becoming quite confident in his skills as a wizard. The more jobs he went on, the more he learned just what it meant to fight with magic, and his senses were sharpening by the day. Tactics, strategies, and even his own limits were becoming very clear, and after dueling Markus a while back, he'd found his forte.

Aven broke from the shrubbery, waving to Rina as he did so. She seemed ready to fight, a glorious spear out and ready to fight. He tapped the ground with his cane, not a word needed to be spoken: he could tell from the atmosphere, it was on. Once he saw that she was fully ready to fight, he took the first move: after all, white goes first in chess, why not here? Rina was about fifty meters away in the small clearing, so he summoned a Seeker's Circle, empowering it with Destruction Glyph, Rho, by breaking a Displacement circle he summoned alongside it, and creating two exact copies with Multiplication Glyph, Hei. Readying himself in a defensive stance, he also called forth a Judgement Circle beside him, and a Healing Circle on his back. All at once, a sword of Golden light struck Aven, granting him a golden aura of protective magic, and the Seeker Circles let loose a barrage of twenty-four arcane missiles which sought Rina out, tracking her movements. He would give her everything he's got, because that's what it meant to test one's strength! The circles that had triggered also reappeared, priming to fire once more.

Rina heard as Aven casted magical circles to attack Rina. They apparently were what Aven called Seeker Circles, or at least that's what his file said. After doing file work day in and day out, she had begun memorizing the magics of her allies in and out. Although some things she didn't know about, Rina realized that these had to be his seeker circles. She was pretty sure that this was what he would usually start out with in fights, or so she's heard. They were pretty strong and dealt tons of damage to enemies that got hit by them, which made them very scary. However, they were slow, meaning any reasonably fast mage should be able to dodge them. She waited for slowly for them, and saw something weird in their midst. It was a sword made of gold. In confusion, Rina almsot forgot what she was about to do, but then realized it. With a quick flash of light, Rina became a ball of light as she dashed away from the area. Since there was a tree behind the stump she sat at, Rina was able to mow some of the missiles down before it fell down. However, Rina still counted about 15 of them left. Knowing she was bound to be hit by them, Rina knew she could block them with her spear, but it wasn't worth it for her spear to be whittled down by that. Rina gritted her teeth and felt pain course through her body, but realized that it was now her turn for an assault.

With a little smile, Rina pressed her hand against her heart as it began to glow. All of a sudden, 4 other Rina's appeared, making sure Aven wouldn't know which was which. The only way he would be able to tell, was their actions. Half of them would shoot rays of light towards the real Rina that would heal her, while the other would do beams of light that damaged Aven. So, they all began to spread out, making sure that Aven would not be able to tell one from the other. Rina then hid deep into the forest(80-90 meters away), making sure Aven wouldn't see her. As her clones ran forward, she decided that it was time for her to play her game. She began to set up her roots, glowing a beautiful white light as pulsating circles made of the purple light pulsated around her hand. As they did, Rina looked out towards Aven and shot out 5 puffs of heavenly pollen towards Aven, taking on the strength of her weapon as well. Along with this, Rina began to glow even brighter, creating. As she did, spores made of the purple light she was emanating began to go around her.  Rina knew that this would be a very good cover and it would heal her from any of Aven's attacks. Hopefully he couldn't attack her if he couldn't see her. Then, her 2 offensive clones shout out beams at Aven, while 2 shot some at Rina. Rina was healed by it, and then, with a moment of realization, Rina knew that she shouldn't be trying so hard on Aven, but she knew that she needed to give his exam justice.

Aven watched as his initial attack hit the mark, though strangely, Rina didn't block any of the bolts with her weapon: he wondered, was she planning something with it? Regardless, it was a solid start to the fight, and he knew just what he'd have to do from there, multiplying the Seeker Circles once more to make five. Suddenly, however, Rina split into clones, all of which spread out to avoid an area of effect attack strategy. To Aven's perception, they were all identical, a serious problem for his plan. Wait, hadn't there been five just a moment ago?  His eyes scanned the clearing, he'd watched Rina summon four clones, but now there were only four Rina's! Annoying, to say the least: it seemed as though Rina knew more about his magic than she initially let on, to counter it so quickly and effectively. He had to applaud her, there was no way for him to know at that point whether she'd sent a clone to hide in order to fool him, and herself, in order to get out of his primary attack range with the Seeker Circles. If he wanted to stand a chance in the match, he was going to need to find her, and soon.

Luckily, Rina's age shown through in her next move: from the treeline, five rings of light soared towards him, giving away her position. A golden bubble of light surrounded him, and absorbed a large portion of the light circles power, though a small detonation at the end sent pain signals through his body. Unshaken, however, his eyes trained on the direction the rings were shot from, as Rina made her second error: two beams of light rocketed towards him, and two towards the forest, converging on Rina, allowing Aven to perfectly triangulate her position, and illuminating her. He couldn't dodge the beams of light and counteratttack at the same time, so he allowed them to hit him, and at the same time, with a quick motion, he summoned a Blink Circle, and translocated it onto Rina's chest, a small feeling of relief that she'd been just within his range. Without any delay, he activated it, causing her to be instantly teleported in front of him, which would disorient her for a few second, which was all Aven needed, as she was now point blank and helpless for the barrage of forty arcane missiles from the circles only several feet away. A smile was spread across his face. "Peek-a-boo, Rina!" His eyes, however, were forced shut, as a brilliant light shone from her, and he raised his cane in a defensive maneuver, in case she struck out with the spear.

Rina felt dazed and couldn't really think too much about anything actually going on around her. As she felt the world around her spinning, she looked up to see tons of circles above her, trying hard to think about what those were. With a sudden realization in her body, Rina fell backwards from the dizziness, falling into the world of the Heavenly Gardens. She wondered why she was brought there, but then realized that she had to be in clear danger if Aven had as many seeker circles as Rina had thought. Either way, Rina knew that she would be able to dub Aven as a b rank mage.
