COMMUNICATION IS KEY ; job

Valeria had travelled all the way from where her guild’s ship was anchored to the region called the ‘Neutral Grounds’ for the sole purpose of getting an ‘iLac’. Now this was some advanced technology and even though Val did not follow that stuff, she did want to have the latest things. Since it was made of lacrima (thus the name ‘iLac’), it was shiny too! The young sorceress asked around for directions to get the place where the iLacs were being distributed. She had never been to this place before so she did not want to get lost or kidnapped or something. Apparently this place had some extraordinary energy that did not allow mages to use magic. Anything that was powered by magic also lost their magical properties. After hearing this, Val could not help but feel scared. Sure she knew how to protect herself without the use of magic, but she was a mage so she was better with magic.

After a long walk, the Crystal Swan mage arrived at the place she was directed to. She could see that there was a long queue already. “Oh god,” she said under her breath, shuffling towards the queue and joining it. She took a deep breath and simply waited until it was her turn to get the iLac. The queue moved pretty fast, unlike what she had expected. Of course, all they had to do was give their name so they could register it and stuff. Valeria could feel her back starting to ache just a little bit as she moved forward. A few more people until it was her turn.

Finally it was her turn after what seemed like the longest wait time, even though it was not, in reality. Valeria waited for the person who was in front of her to move out of the way, and then told the person who was registering the iLacs her name and affiliation even though he only asked for her name. She was just proud to be a part of Crystal Swan and liked telling people that she was from that guild. Tapping on the counter in front of her, Valeria quietly hummed a tune as she waited for the man to finish filling out a short form and testing the iLac in front of her. The device looked even shinier in person. She simply could not wait to have it in her hands. The man asked if she had ever used an iLac before, so she shook her head. He then started to explain how to use the iLac.

Valeria thought it was a better idea to just make manuals and give them out together with the iLacs to save some energy, so she actually told the guy. “I think you should write all of that down in a manual and make copies of it. Just give it out together with the iLac. That will save you some time and energy,” she said after he finished and accepted the iLac from him. He gave her a puzzled look for a moment and then nodded with a smile.
