The 14 year old, Arcadia Fairchilde's bare feet carried her along the streets of Magnolia. She hoped braving the crowded streets would be worth it. Crowds never were one of the fair-skinned girl's favorite things, so she her deep green gaze aimed down to her feet. She also chose to go around more crowded areas, making for a long and winding journey toward her goal.
Being as quiet and unassuming as she often was, especially strangers, meant she was easily overlooked. For once that worked to her benefit, when back at that last inn, she overheard a bunch lour drunkards going on about some guild. She was sure she heard of it before, but the stories she listened to the drunkards tell sparked her imagination.
if half of what the drunkards said were true... this Fairy Tale? just might be the best place for Arcadia to grow and learn. Then her deep green eyes happened to glance up from the street, and the re it was at last. The guildhall, she had come so far to see. Tilting her head to one side, she noted the sign read, Fairy Tail, the slightly different than expected spelling throwing her off for a moment.
She found a certain whimsy in that moment of mild, mild surprise. Briefly a bit more at ease, she shuffled her pack more snugly over both shoulders, and found a heavily-loaded merchant's wagon to challenge to a race. There was no formal declaration, just a simple mental statement kept to herself.
Arcadia sped off toward the looming guildhall, her light blue dress and pale blonde hair fluttering in her all out sprint toward the doors! There was nothing magical or extra-ordinary about her speed. she still left that loaded down merchant wagon the dust, nearly sliding into the guildhall's front door. She threw both her slender, fair arms straight up in the air, and gave a laughing and rejoicing shout, "I win!"
