Traveling the Path to Darkness (Introduction- Open)

Most might be afraid walking up to the doors of an infamous dark guild. Kiyoko, or as she had others called her, Akujin, was not like most people. For starters, she was half demon, and that made a lot of difference in who and what she felt comfortable dealing with. As secondly, she was exactly the sort of person who would fit in with a dark guild. Matter of fact, that was why she was here- to join Nightmare.

Staring up at the bronze palace, she had momentary doubts that they would be very, well, accepting of her presence. Then she shrugged that off. They had to get new recruits somehow, right? The guild would never grow if they attacked everyone who showed up on their doorstep wanting to join. They were said to welcome anyone who was interested in battles, blood, and gore. Kiyoko reveled in those things. Besides, she was no shrinking violet, and death didn't scare her.

The girl pushed the massive doors open, strolling inside fearlessly. She was sure they would be all over her in a heartbeat if she showed any weakness, so that was not an option. Still, she would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous as she waited to see how they would react to her presence. Still, she ought to make her intentions known.

"Hello. I've come to join your guild."

Her words might seem pleasant on the surface, but her tone wasn't exactly friendly. In fact, it was rather cold, almost challenging even. She knew being nice wouldn't get her anywhere, and besides, it wasn't in her nature. No, if they were going to try and intervene or test her she wanted it done with now so she could prove her worth and move on.

Nyx had never held fear walking up to the temple, she had been to this place by the side of her god before this monument had even been erected in his honor. Even when she first joined months after nightmare had been established? She had never feared, in fact, the horned beauty had more felt as if she was finally coming home, finally once more able to walk closely behind Chaoris almost all the time instead of having to attend to her own guild as she once had. Sure her actions had resulted in her god attacking the guild she once ruled over, but she could care less if they were foolish enough to fight the one she worshipped than they earned nothing apart from death. Never had she been afraid, because she belonged here, close to him as someone of mortal origin could be.

The temples lighting was rather dim at the moment, since last she checked many of their members were out doing what any good member of nightmare did, slaughtering. Most of the time? Their guild-hall was fairly empty, anyone foolish enough to attack where they respawned if killed would not last very long against a single one of them anyways. Out of the darkness of the temple halls, holding a skull lantern would be something possibly unlike what Kiyoko had expected.

Soft features with incredibly long smooth silky black hair and pure white clothing, horns like snow and wings like the night sky, with no sign of blood anywhere on her. Nyx came forward the light playing softly against her ghostly pale complexion. "In that case welcome." what reason did she have to question this girl? If she turned out to be insincere or some sort of coward? Well, the girl would quickly find her death at the hands of someone in the guild. "You can call me Fluffy, it's nice to meet you." she seemed happy, genuine, and if one didn't recognize that her name belonged a former coming storm who had earned a rather known reputation for firey violence and eating humans, she almost seemed out of place for what one may expect. "What should I call my new guild-mate?" while she was merciless in battle, and pursued the objectives of her god without any hesitance. Nyx was most of the time just a normal girl when she was down on her own time, until she decided that she needed to worship somehow again.

Hmm. Kiyoko arched an eyebrow at that name. Oh, she recognized that all right. Certainly someone of note. What luck, that someone so formidable would be the only person she had spotted in the guild hall so far. And she didn't seem inclined to kill Kiyoko either. That seemed like a good sign. She shrugged slightly at the woman's question.

"Well, my name is Kiyoko, but I prefer to be called Akujin."

Of course, it was hardly surprising that she would go by a code name of sorts. Many dark mages did. In fact, she was pretty sure "Fluffy" wasn't the mage before her's real name either. Normally she wouldn't just give out her real name like this, but hey, this was one of her guildmates, or would be, assuming the woman didn't turn around and decide to kill her. She ought to show a little trust and respect. Not, of course, that she would share her last names. That one wasn't just a trust issue, she just despised her family- both sides of it.

She brushed a strand of long, white hair out of her face, keeping her bearing casual. She was not intimidated, not at all, and she totally wasn't going to show any uncertainty.

She crossed her arms, glancing around the hall and finally taking a moment to examine it. It was pretty dark, mostly shrouded in shadows, but she definitely saw the liberal use of blood and skulls in the decor. Of course, she expected no less from such a dark guild. If she'd thought to find sunshine and roses she wouldn't have come here. She smiled slightly.

"Nice place you have here. Definitely my sort of style."

At the arched eyebrow, her wings shifted lightly behind her, easily noting that the action likely meant the other girl knew who she was, had heard rumors, or just heard her name and couldn't remember where. It didn't matter much, she only took note of such things as a sign her true name was still well protected. Nyx had chosen to walk the path of war but she still had living relatives, most notably her mother, who didn't. If anyone knew her actual name and the wrong people got pissed off with her, it wouldn't be her who paid, it would be her mother, she knew that well, the world was not honorable as Chaoris and his followers, it played and attacked from behind. She had once been like that. Change within Nyx was the only reason she was not inclined to simply up and kill the newest member of the guild, she could still feel the need to lash out, but she now knew her own nature and how to best use it, for her god.

She nodded slightly when the other girl mentioned having a preferred name, calling her back to the time Chaoris knew her name due to being a god and she asked him to not call her by that. Only now, if people who didn't know weren't around, she was half dying to hear him say what she was really called, who she was beyond what the world saw because the world never saw the truth in the way he did. "Well then, welcome to nightmare, Akujin." for the moment, the horned warrior had no intention of suddenly challenging the other girl to combat. Oddly enough, for who she was, all the rumors and reports by legal mages, one may be surprised to find out, she was not one to care for respect much. Nyx knew all the respect should go to Chaoris, but even further than that, he had taught her another important lesson! The truly strong did not need to go around demanding other's bow, dictating that other's must respect them, he was divine proof of that.

"It should be nice, it was made for Chaoris after-all." she smiled fondly as she spoke that sentence, eyes sweeping around the room, happily taking it all in once more. "Sometime ago, I followed Chaoris here, another member of what would become Nightmare, Lucie, was with us." she had to tell the story, didn't she? There was no reason to fight this girl right now, and it was important history to the guild. "Several of his followers were in a battle they weren't winning, which meant another god was involved, they called out, we came, slaughtered the opposing forces." it had been enjoyable, she had not known what would become of his other followers when she left with Chaoris shortly after, but it had been the first time she got an actual look at how vast his following was. Obviously? She knew he was vastly worshipped, one didn't need to know him to worship him, but she hadn't known how many truly knew him and still didn't, that was only her gods business. "Some time afterward they built this, it may have been altered after I wouldn't know as I was late due to circumstances, but that's the basis of what became Nightmare, this place was originally built as a tribute to the god of war, blood, skulls, and honor." so of course it had to be nice, it was built to honor how great he was, and to later serve as a central point for spreading that truth further through the world, even if some people wanted to reject it.

"Let's go see who else we can find around here. What were you thinking for your guild mark?" speaking of guild marks, most people seemed to have them easily visible, though some dark mages put them in easily concealable locations. Where did the fire mage have hers? Well, for Nyx somewhere like her hand, her back, anything like them was not enough. Only two places could do for her! Above the heart or where the tag of her collar once sat, in the end above her heart was too concealed, so she went with right beneath her collarbone. However, sometimes the state of her clothing still served to conceal it a bit.
