Lunch Time [Open To Lamia Scale] Empty Lunch Time [Open To Lamia Scale]

    Post by dandead10 28th June 2018, 7:06 pm

Within the great hall of Lamia Scale, particularly within the mess hall, Miyamoto Ikana had found it a wonderful time to be cooking for the odd number of mages within its embrace. The white haired angel had been presented with the large yellowfin Tuna and she had taken full liberty to begin it’s preparation for an old time dish known as Sushi. Taking her large fillet knife, she’d lift it’s gill flap and leave a large incision along the side of it’s head, cutting deep down to the spine and it’s ribcage. Sliding that knife down it’s side, she’d scrape along the bones for every inch of meat, that succulent reddish white meat that she had procured from the docks, freshly caught this morning. Quickly lifting the meat as she scraped along, she eventually procured the fillet off from the fish. It was a large slab, and one side had easily enough meat for ten people. This was not accounting the fillet on the other side of course she had yet to take. Working in the clean white kitchen, she felt at home here. Flipping the now much lighter monster onto it’s other side, she’d repeat the process with gusto.

However, she was far from done. Just because she HAD enough meat for twenty people didn’t mean that they’d be satisfied with a single serving of Sushi, which was generally a light food to begin with. She needed to make a side dish, two of them in fact. However, Miyamoto Ikana wasn’t the kind of person that was going to waste any single bit of food. So, taking twin cooking knives, she looked upon the fish before her before she lowered her head a bit, and began rapidly lifting her arms up and down, cooking with finesse as she began to chop the fish remains up into a fine reddish paste. There was no need to gut the creature for she had already removed anything lingering in it’s stomach that was not appetizing. Quickly did she move this now reddish paste into a bowl, chopping up green onions, normal onions, and adding some bread crumbs for solidness and adding them. Taking some sesame oil, she sprayed a generous amount into her mixing bowl and began to take these pulverized guts and bones, turning them into fishballs. Calcium was rich in bones and so when eaten like these, with a light bitterness from the guts that will be deep fried and breaded, it will give energy and a more filling bite.

So, as she prepared this dish, she set large containers into the fryers, leaving nothing of the fish whatsoever. There was no evidence other than a slightly bloody set of knives and cutting board to realize she was cooking anything. With a light sigh, she’d prepare the nori, the hot white rice, and began to roll with precision. There was only one thing left. These two dishes needed something nice and refreshing to fill a person and leave them content. What better than some Miso Soup? She could be cooking all day and still be happy, though she did have people to serve of course. If they weren’t happy with what she was cooking? They could get the hell out of the kitchen. Taking out a bowl of soaked seaweed, she’d dump it into a very large pot, added more water, some more beef stock, some salt, some sesame oil, and then touched the surface of the pot as she sealed the lid. “Flamvell…” A bath of molten flames washed over the whole pot, rapidly heating it but with passionate love, a kiss of heat. It was only then she added tofu into the pot with bean paste to really add that richness that the young mage stepped forward, looked to the lunch bell, and rang it once with loud ferocity, the sound ringing through the otherwise busy study halls and training regions.

When one arrived, they’d see lines of bento prepared with two sections, Tuna Sushi in one, deep fried fish balls in the other, and a bowl of standard Miso Soup next to each box. However, the cook simply wearing her apron would leave the dishes out, and mysteriously wasn’t there. Some people in Lamia Scale said there was a ghost that was bound to service and cooked for everyone. Some people said that a guild member worked behind there. Other people just said that it was a hired worker. In reality, it was technically the last two. She was a full fledged guild member but she was also being paid for her work in addition to monster hunting with knowledge and some jewels. However, not many had ever seen her face. The shutters were closed with only a slot for more food to come out and dishes to come back. A simple sign on that shutter would say, “Knock For A Serving If You’re Deserving.” How mysterious.

Lamia Scale's Mess Hall was akin to a cafeteria that one might find in a school. How fitting for a guild of bookish types and a moderate amount of people. Though, it had a charm to it when it came to food. It was usually a different thing to eat every time.

    Appearance:

It was a quiet time that was spent behind closed doors. Three occupants all doing various things within them, but it was still rather quiet for the most part within the 4 walls of the room. The Sylph and Angel had retained their spirit like appearances, just calmly relaxed on Gisen's bed. The green spirit, Silvia laid curled up as if she were just a cat or dog and fast asleep as she normally had since she had come back from the unknown forest. Ever since that day, Silvia had been much different than she used to be and frankly it had started to worry Gisen. Through her determination to better herself to make the wind spirit happier, there was just something off about her lately that it was giving her quite a bit of concern about how she was, but she was too afraid to confront her about it. Instead, she wanted to give the Sylph her space and if and when she was ready to talk about it, she'd do so. For now, she was cute as a button laying where she was, so it wasn't anything to distract her from the work she was doing.

One of a couple reasons for her having visited Fiore for a few days was to catch up with some long overdue work to hand to the council and being off in Pandora was just something to which she had no way to get it up and back. So in her trips here, she took care of it all in one fell swoop and then would return to manage the guild like normal. The next reason she had come was she was kinda in need of a few things for the guild. While many of the guild was staffed into their own sections, she had a need for more "in house" specialists, so to speak. For the last week, a few mages and even normal people had come by to offer their services to Lamia Scale. However, she wasn't able to get some to commit to the idea of going across to a foreign land to work full time-- Not that she could blame anyone. Today though, she had a fire mage who aspired to be a chef and frankly, the two in combination already had piqued the elementals interest. If someone was to fill the quota and then go above and beyond to being a full on member? Well, then who was she to deny them that chance!?

"Giiigiiiii!~ I'm hungryyyyyyy!" A sudden whining called out, breaking their silence and making Gisen look up from her work. The bunny girl pulled down a pair of reading glasses she was wearing and looked to the angel in her spirit form and sighed. "Raphy, go get food from the kitchen then. Like, just don't bug the cook, please." She asked, fixing the glasses up and getting back to work. She wrote another line in the folder and put the documents aside when a pair of hands slammed onto the table. The sudden bang made her jump, scream, and then hide under the table for a moment. "Come with me then!" She albeit demanded, seeming to sound like a very intimidating suggestion, but after coming out from the table, she glared at the pink haired angel with a serious look. "DO NOT do that again. Now let's go..." She walked around the desk and passing by her bed, gave a soft petting to the still sleeping Sylph. Once they had left, she picked her head up and blinked. "I... I'm just gonna go back to sleep..." With a saddened sigh, the Sylph laid her head back down and closed her eyes and went back to sleep.

As the pair of pink haired demi-humans entered the kitchen, the angel immediately ran over to the kitchen fridge and began to peruse the items inside for something to eat. The bunny girl on the other hand had gone over to inspect the handiwork of the chef-for-hire and saw that they had made boxes containing food, left a mystery for each person. She smiled, delighted by the idea of it, honestly, but she wasn't particularly wanting to dig into it yet. Instead, she opened her hand and a carrot appeared in her hand, starting to nibble on it with a bit of some loud crunching. While she walked around, she had stumbled across the mage and had retained a little distance between the two. "How's everything coming along? Do you like, need or want any help?" She asked, curious to know, though it wouldn't be the end of the world if she said so one way or another. "Gigi!! Where's the leftover wyvern ribs!?" A voice called out from around the corner, making Gisen shake her head. "You ate those three hours ago. You know, the last time you like, bugged me for food." She answered in a rather calm manner. "Gah! Shoot, guess these green things will do..." The voice spoke again. A moment of loud munching and chewing sounds came from around the corner. Then, sudden silence. Out of the blue, a blur of pink and white flashed by to the sink and the angel held her hair up as the sound of her throwing up in the sink echoed out. "I meant to tell you... don't eat the basilisk steaks." She refused to move, finding this an adequate punishment for her scaring her severely like she had.

Lunch Time [Open To Lamia Scale] Empty Re: Lunch Time [Open To Lamia Scale]

Post by Lilim 13th July 2018, 10:05 pm

It had been noisier in the Lamia Scale Guild Hall then usual, which was anomalous to the usual, nigh empty aside from the sparse hall travelers, but today, the sounds of cooking emanated from the Mess Hall, and from the time I first heard it, it would be going on for a greater amount of time than I was willing to wait, as my hunger had been satiated for the time being, and flying in from the Cursed Lands was no mean feat. I took the steps up towards the Guild rooms, and found my towards my dorm, my boots clacking against the smooth stones with an irritating *clack clack* sound that grated against my ears. I threw the light-colored wood door open to an ordinary room, a small bed with a dresser and a desk. The window was covered, in rather contrast to the near Spartan-esque quality of the room, by luxurious, nigh expensive material, a rich silken tapestry that was set to cover the window, like a heirloom, relegated to such a pauper job. I rushed over to the piece, the deep purple changed in tone by sunlight, and wafted them, pulling them back and then forcing them forward, changing the room around me, and my clothes. I looked around at the familiar, extensive room that was my room in the Bastion of Hell's 2nd Circle, The palatial estate of the Heir of Lust.

It was one large room, with one excessively massive bed, designed and made for more than one purpose. When I took it over, I had to kick all the previous Heir's "friends" out of the room, and had the living room replace the bed, though it had to retain the previous dimensions of the prior bed.
So, I found myself splayed out in what basically amounted to a Belly dancer's Bedlah, which was just a demon silk sports bra and a black mini-skirt that stretched close to my knee, made of the same comfortable substance. Perk of being the Heir of Lust, spider demons made my clothes every once in a while. Anywho, that's how I found myself dressed as I fell asleep, drifting off to a rather quick rest.

It was a few hours, around 5, as the only time I had told to me was via a clock in the corner, a gift from one of my father's retainers, though the rest of the building remained lit only by the hell-fire that raged outside my estate. I rushed to the tapestry that hung back over the wall it was supposed to, and repeated the same pattern I used to get here, though not before grabbing a Demon silk shirt, one I had unfortunately not noticed until I had rushed out of the room, and down into the kitchen, was partially see through, and the usual purple. I brushed the door to the kitchen itself to find three strange individuals rushing about inside. one being a strange pink haired girl vomiting into the trash, another a pink haired bunny girl snacking on a carrot, and the third was a... strange, white haired girl who seemed rather quiet at the moment. I groaned slightly, feeling the exhaustion residue, before sitting down, taking out a couple bento I swiped from the Mess.
Pulling my hair into a ponytail, and binding it with a hair-tie, pulling strands of the rebellious, fiery red hair into the ponytail, pulling these rogue bits of hair from in front of my face. Afterwards, I then pulled the box top off, and smelled a distinctly Asiatic scent, and saw a similar sight, as the food was a strange one I first tried in Hosenka: Sushi. Alongside the Jyutping and the Miso, the scent and presentation was refreshingly tart, though savory. I started with the soup, the earthy, complimentary flavor meshed well with the tart flavor of the tuna and rice, layered with the salty flavor of the seaweed, it was a really nice, light lunch. After finishing the first box and moving to the second, finishing that in record time as well. After I finished the second box, draining the last of the Miso soup from the second box, I turned, and returned my gaze to the room around me, the still vomiting pink-hair, the gloating bunny girl, and the girl, doffing their apron with impressive finesse. I gave a satisfied sigh as I looked around then finally spoke, saying with quiet confidence: "Between the Pink bunny girl, and the White hair, which is the Head chef? I'd like to give my thanks."

Lunch Time [Open To Lamia Scale] Empty Re: Lunch Time [Open To Lamia Scale]

    Post by dandead10 14th July 2018, 11:34 am

Never did Ikana imagine that she was to be greeted by the guild master in such record time. Bowing her head upon her entry, the chef was asked if she needed any assistance. She raised her head up with sure respect for the woman in charge. “No need guild master. I’ve already taken care of lunch preparations. If you don’t mind, I’ll be doing some reading here once my duties are fulfilled.” The thing about Ikana was, she never really did touch other people’s things in the fridge. That wasn’t her place. However, she sweatdropped as the resonating sound of vomiting filled the area. ‘Well...that’s going to be a pain to clean up.’ She was a cook, not a janitor. Rubbing the back of her head, she would step forward, patting the pink haired girl’s back as she understandably was sick. There was only a slight sense of sympathy for the poor person here, for she had after all chosen to eat some spoiled food instead of asking the actual chef to prepare something. It was almost insulting.

“I’m confused on why she simply didn’t ask me if I could prepare something for her. It’s always a pleasure to prepare dishes for another~” However, it was the sudden revelation that there was another person in the room that lead for the metaphorical angel to observe her as she ate not one Bento, but two. With a small smile gracing her face, she gradually was called forth, to be complimented in fact. “Miyamoto Ikana. I would be your head chef for the time being.” Bowing her head once more to this senior guild member by the looks of it, she’d proceed to adorably gaze upon this stranger. “May I have your name miss?” With a light blush in satisfaction of having served her patron, she proceeded to push out a few more of the boxes out through the small slide out areas, wind pushing them gently next to the other Bento in orderly fashions. She seemed to be an abnormality in the sense where she was rather well attuned to both wind and fire magecrafts, though perhaps it was just because of her efforts and practice.

After some brief consideration, it occurred to Ikana that it was pretty warm out. A hot summer. With that in mind, she clapped her hands lightly. “As of now, I think that despite it not being dinner time, it would be nice to have something cold to bear through the hot weather. Don’t you think?” She’d wait for them to answer before she did anything else. What she was thinking about was making some Popingsu, an odd dish that none of them had probably ever heard before. In reality, it was a variation of shaved ice. Shaking her thought for a moment, she waited to see if any of them were interested in that regard. If she was dismissed from her duties though and everything was satisfactory, why, she might just prepare a large feast in advance, and perhaps even do a small mission for the guild! Now wouldn't that be grand? Some people might laugh at the thought of a cook doing a quest for a mage guild, but why not? She was as capable a spellcaster as some of the members of the guild she imagined! Yes, that sounded nice. Perhaps even pack herself a little picnic for the coming trip.
