Personality:
Mayumi is usually very calm outwardly. She wears an almost constant mask, seeming friendly, but at the same not overly exuberant or... Connected. Most of her personality was developed through a very strict childhood. As the eldest sibling, and the only one still in good standing with her parents, she has always been pressured to carry, and even continue to build their families honor. Common in wealthier families, really. So she has always been very good at maintaining outward appearances. She's also very used to being the center of attention. After all, she was always the family favorite, and she always got her way.

However, while no one can deny that Mayumi is a bit spoiled, she's not always a brat. She's actually very loyal and caring towards anyone she views as a friend. She has a natural charisma about her, and is definitely not a follower. She wants to carve out her own path. And that is part of the reason she joined Black Rose. She is known because of her family, but she wants to be famous and well-known in her own right, and for her own accomplishments. And she's always wanted to make her own rules, rather than having to follow someone else's. But as long as you don't try to tell her what to do she'll probably get along with you. She always does whatever she thinks is best for herself, and for those she cares about, without thinking of how it would affect anyone else.

It battle, though, she is a terrible enemy to have. She shows no mercy and takes no chances. She will bring down anyone she thinks might cause any threat. Not that she kills them, of course. That would be against the rules, and she has to follow them, at least for the time being. But that's more of her keeping up appearances than actually following a moral code.

Likes:

• Fights, both real battles and practices. She is always trying to hone her abilities both as a mage and as a melee fighter. And of course, she always looks forward to the chance to show of her strength.
  
• Children. She helped take care of and watch her younger siblings from a young age, and although she is no longer close to either of them, she does have a huge soft spot for children, whether she knows them or not. She has a whole lot more patience with them than she does with anyone else, really, and she will always step in to protect them.
  
• Animals. Just as with children, Mayumi adores animals. Mainly because she doesn't have to maintain appearances around them. It's also an example of her mothering instinct coming out.
  

Dislikes:

• Bragging. A bit hypocritical really, considering that she can be a bit overconfident herself. However, her main issue is with people exaggerating their own abilities. If they can back up the bragging then she can respect that.
  
• Coffee. She isn't sure why, but she just can't stand it, even the smell. It makes her feel sick.
  
• Being told what to do. She had enough of that from her parents as she was growing up, and while she still listens to them, she doesn't like anyone else trying to order her around.
  

Motivations:

• Fame. One of her biggest dreams is to be well-known and respected, and she's determined to someday be one of the most preeminent mages in Fiore.
  
• Power. Sort of goes along with fame, really, but she wants to be the one in charge and making the rules. After all, surely she would do a much better job than those currently in charge, right?
  
• Protecting those she cares about. Once Mayumi cares about someone she will bend over backwards for them, doing whatever it takes to make sure they are not only safe but happy as well.
  

Fears:

• Insects. She can't stand any sort of bug, arachnid, or any other creepy crawlies really. The fact that freaks her out is that you can't usually see them, so you never know where they're lurking, or when they'll make an unwelcome appearance.
  
• Being alone. Mayumi is not someone who has ever really just been on her own. She's always had her family, siblings, friends. There's always been someone there, so she doesn't know how to handle being by herself.
  
• Death. A pretty reasonable fear, all things considered. She's not someone who really believes in an afterlife of any kind, so she views death as the final ending, but she isn't ready to finish the game yet...

Appearance:
In her day-to-day life, Mayumi always wears a kimono. Her family was a very traditional one, and it was expected for her and her siblings. She has an incredibly large range of clothing to choose from. And of course, as a requip mage she has a wide variety of different armors she wears in battle.
