An Unfortunate Fortune (Open)

It had been quite the day already, with one of his favourite flowers reaching the end of its lifeline, the croissant burning in the oven and then of all things he had poured the chocolate sauce into his tea instead of across a quickly reheated breakfast muffin. Had that been today this morning? Or yesterday evening. No matter. He had spent the last few memorable days of his life in the upstairs sector of the guild hall. He hadn't chosen to reside there due to an excess but simply due to the peace and quiet that it offered due to being a more restricted area. A more advanced information system than the iLac sat on the table as each key clicked with the data input. A change in seasons was coming soon, partway through planting and checking bulbs of flowers and roots of trees he had decided to input the data into a more formal database. Once it was done he hoped to be able to keep track of each flowerbed, connected to his iLac with the small object always on hand he could easily record fertilisation, nutrient additions and other maintenance that had to happen after a set period of time. After a stressful feeding and his spoiled Cinnamon Turmeric Ginger and Nutmeg tea the youthful male had greatly appreciated the quite time to himself and his fertilisation and plant care books and scrolls which littered the floor in an organised mess. Dear lords though Cinnamon Turmeric Ginger Nutmeg and chocolate tea, no no that simply would never do! A great and hollering voice summoned him from below, it was odd. Did they need something?  Swiping the screen to save it all he marked his page with a bookmark made out of woven and pressed forget me nots. In a few moments his white coat had been secured around his shoulders, val still sat curled up on a chest of draws but even she blearily looked up at the sound of her owners name.

Leaning down his braid swung down around the side of the staircase as he took a few steps down. "Yes Maalik?" The man nearly twice his age met Lester' watermelon eyes before motioning to those who stood beside him "Got some missus here who wants to join" Lesters eye lit up, from the new member or the two people who stood beside her a grin spread across his face. After a Cinnamon Turmeric Ginger Nutmeg and Chocolate Tea a visit from a butt brother, their 'sister' and a new recruit was welcomed.  "Just a moment! I need a stampy stampy and um, Val get off that!" towards the end his voice was muffled as Lester moved off to pick up the sloth whom had started to chew on a rather precious looking wooden box. With her secured around his shoulders the draw was slid open and the guild stamper scooped up. Oh, surely a new recruit would be hungry after wandering around. Should he? A platter sat on the table with three cupcakes, he having eaten his own the others wouldn't know if they were gone, names sat in the icing as he took a moment with his magic to change the pink lettering to spell out Theo, Rin and Welcome. As long as he didn't let the mad woman touch his skin she wouldn't find out about him re-purposing the cupcakes for a welcome!

Carefully gliding down the stairs with the stamp tucked in his belt and the platter of florally decorated cupcakes firmly in two hands he arrived in a swirl of white and red.  "Oh Um welcome! Its nice to meet you miss I'm Lester! Im on Rin and Theo's team." Voice smooth as ever he offered the platter to the trio.  "Cupcake? Also think about where you want the guild mark!" She appeared nice, and both of his squad mates seemed to be quite relaxed around her so Lester figured that she would be beneficial to their ranks. Oh it was so nice to see the guild grow. They were well into double digits!

The new recruit accepted he cupcake with ease, she seemed a bit tentative, taking a small taster bite from the side before inhaling the rest of it at a rather high speed, for a moment he was worried she would choke or something, however there was no apparent harm done as she simply finished the cupcake with a smile. Combat magic, well they had many mages who specialise in combat, many who didn’t with a slight wave he brushed the comment away.

”Do not worry, over time you shall learn and grow. Yes, we do have many artists, I myself am a florist. Desirée is a renound idol, model and musician, we actually have a concert hall here that she sometimes uses as practice. There are a great many musicians, artists, designers. Craftsmen and creative persons are also welcomed.”

For a moment he thought, catching her not so suttle glances towards a rather particular piano. It wasn’t exactly an odd place to have it, he was just perpetually confused by how many females wanted their guildmarks on breasts or at the top of their legs.
”Yea, you can choose the color, just think of the colors that represent you can that you connect with. After this we should probably get you settled, later on you’ll be able to find one of the more musical members to show you around the instrument storage.”

If she showed that she had some knowledge then perhaps they would tell her she was allowed to play the piano in the guildhall, although it was more a matter of stopping fools from slamming random keys.

”Ready?” With a smooth motion he simply presented the stamp and moved forward in an attempt to stamp her in the area she had pointed out.
