After the last two occurrences, the Dead Forest and its outlying villages and cities were places Izayuki had come to avoid. After the recent happenings, between wandering into the Enenra’s Realm on one occasion, and having been captured the other, the Bakedanuki only came to understand that misfortune befell anyone who strayed too close.

Yet here she was again, passing through a village on the outskirts of the dark and grim forest. The forest had mostly dead and withered trees, with limbs on their last breaths, dry and barely damp riverbeds and creek veins, and shifting, unstable soil no longer capable of producing life. The village had a well, and was otherwise fine despite being so close to the eerie woods. It was here that Izayuki was passing through to get to the forest, knowing it to be one of the few paths of getting to the world of Nazo without using the Wakusei Portals.

She did not want her tracks to be followed, after all. And the Wakusei Portals were far too obvious. One could easily follow her to a place she did not want to be followed to. For now, however, the Bakedanuki sat on a bench in the village, watching the busy streets as she slowly mustered the courage to continue venturing into the dark and despairing woods.

Eerie and dark the environment was where the trickster found herself. While the young "man" was waltzing down the game track that she had found with a curious gaze to the eyes. Taking a few whiffs of the air allowed her to take in the scent of the environment to its fullest, the smell of animals and plants filled the girl's nostrils while she came to a village which would make a suitable spot for a break.

No home meant a nomadic lifestyle for the half-blood youkai while she strolled towards the town. Deciding it was best to take advantage of the benefits of being female the visage of masculinity would disappear to leave a brunette appearing visually similar to her actual appearance. Yang's eyes scanned the village for somewhere to grab a bite. Deciding on a small stall to the side she used the crowd swipe a bun for her meal.

With that obtained and a wide grin on the triumphant fox's face. She took a seat on a bench and began to snack on the bun for her meal while taking the time to look around every now and again. Her eyes fell on a curious sight. A pinkette with canine ears was sitting near her which stood out compared to her rather plain appearance.

As she waited in anticipation, slowly gaining her bearing to wander through those accursed woods once more, silver-furred ears twitched as she caught a scent that was unusual. The villagers here were all human, so why did she smell a fox in their midst?

Crimson eyes narrowed as she spotted the culprit snag a bun from a stall, easily and effortlessly… and without paying. The Bakedanuki smirked subtly, remembering her own times of doing such deeds. Though she avoided it nowadays due to her reputation, surely it did not hurt once in a while to pay for a product with leaves and pebbles disguised as money. At least that was a more secure means of getting what a yokai wanted, rather than stealing and risking the capture.

For foxes, however, the raccoon dog could only guess that they loved the thrill of the theft. Seconds later, the kitsune sat down beside the tanuki on the same bench, casually enjoying the bun. As soon as the fox noticed the pinkette, however, Izayuki met her eyes with a sly smirk. “You didn’t pay for that, did you? Would be a shame if anyone found out~” she began, her fluffy tail twitching in amusement.

Delicious was the lunch she had stolen. She had found herself broke but that didn't mean she would find herself starved. Yang was much to tricky to want to deal with something like that. Stealing was so much easier and not to mention enjoyable than doing the right thing. Her glance had been quick to the woman with her canine features so clearly on display but she had been made.

Yang stopped halfway through a bite on her bun to look at the woman more, sizing her up while trying to think how she should handle the comment. There was the slight movement of her cheeks while she finished her mouthful and gave her full attention to offer over some of her food.

"You wouldn't tell on a girl that's got no money would you miss? Do you want some too? I don't mind sharing"

The offer was made and waiting to be accepted by the woman if she so chose to partake in the stolen treat. Yang maintained an almost innocent visage about the whole situation but not playing dumb. Her eyes looking at the attractive woman's features, taking a moment to wonder how sensitive she was to having her ears and tail touched before giving her chest a look that lasted for more than a few seconds.

"I'm Yang by the way. Nice to meet you Miss.....?"

“I might,” Izayuki mused with a grin. She had caught thieves and reported them to authorities before, regardless of their excuses. “Depends on if I’m in a good mood or not~”

The fox girl offered her some, but the Bakedanuki only shook her head. “No thank you. I have money to purchase food if I need some,” she said, that being half true. While she had money with her just in case, the ayakashi was perfectly okay with using counterfeit if desired. “Name’s Izayuki,” the tanuki continued, flicking her silver tail dismissively. “Nice to meet you too, I suppose.”

The Bakedanuki paused for a moment, an idea coming to mind as she spoke with the kitsune. “Say, I don’t meet many other yokai here in Fiore. Where are you from?”

Yang was unfazed by the underlying potential threat from the woman's comment. The woman's facial expression gave a potential hint of enjoyment from the smile, a sadist of some description? The kitsune's own grin shifted though. An effort to make it appear as though she was concerned from what the pinkette could do and the result of being turned in for her crime.

A simple shrug would be Yang's response to her turning down the snack as her maw finished the food. It was far to late to give it back to the owner as she obtained it but she would be fine giving it back to the original owner in a few hours if the other woman insisted. The idea almost made her break character to laugh.

"Where am I from? I come from...."

Taking a few moments to look around as if trying to find a direction before seemingly satisfied and pointing in a direction.

"I'm from that way. Say what makes you think I'm a yokai anyway? I don't look like a yokai do I? You do though, you're tail looks really soft. Can I touch it?"

There was a good chance that if she tried to argue that she wasn't a yokai it would only look more suspicious and rather stupid on her part. Somehow the other woman knew in a manner that Yang didn't. Despite this the pinkette was quite open about her heritage, even willing to flaunt it but she hadn't considered the chance that Izayuki couldn't actually shapeshift either.

"What kind of yokai are you? Is this your true form?"
